TTB 131: Travel Around Table on Cultural Appropriation

Episode 131

lundi 29 mars 2021Duration 01:06:07

On this episode of the Travel Around Table, the group discusses some of the issues related to cultural appropriation and how we, as travelers, can become more educated on what it means to appropriate a culture. There was A LOT to unpack here, and I think we did a great job (thanks to our incredibly informed guests) of navigating a very complicated and polarizing topic. By the end of this conversation we had a much deeper understanding of the issue and were able to take away a few things we can do to move the needle in the right direction.

Remember to check out our guests and the incredible travel information they provide!

Last year, she was awarded as one of the top 20 Global Women of Excellence by U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis and the Multi-Ethnic Advisory Task Force. In this conversation we discussed the challenges and ambitions the travel sector faces as it transitions to be more inclusive of all people, cultures, and ethnicities. Jeanette provided valuable insight on her work to increase representation associated with travel companies, and perhaps more importantly, travelers themselves.
