Eugénie Brazier - The Story Of

Season 2 · Episode 40

jeudi 27 octobre 2022Duration 19:00

Today’s episode is a little different. There's no guest, instead, I will be presenting the third of a new series of episodes to come in which I bring the life story of a chef or person that has influenced our lives through a mutual love of French cuisine. This story is about a woman who went from the farm to the kitchen and would be known as the mother of French cuisine.  Eugénie Brazier is one of the famous mere lyonanise and as such was nicknamed mere brazier. Eugénie was the first woman to get three michelin stars for a restaurant. In fact she got six at the same time with three stars for both her restaurants. Some of Eugenies students were Paul Bocuse and Bernard Pacaud, her legacy though to women in the kitchen is something that still continues today. This is her story. You can get copies of Eugénie's book below La Mere Brazier : The Mother of Modern French Cooking - https://amzn.to/3TJwlL Support the showIf you are planning a trip to France then why not come join me for a cooking experience in Montmorillon or a small group food tour in Lyon and/or Cote D’Azur.
