She reviews her breakfast “Screwdriver Slush” from Spangles restaurant and stopped at the Wizard of Oz Museum in Wamego, KS on her way back home to Missouri. Kathleen then describes the events of Father’s Day weekend at Lake of the Ozarks, participating in the annual Father’s Day golf tournament with her dad and sister. 

“GOOD BAD FOOD”: In her quest for new and delicious not-so-nutritious junk food AND in continuing her search for the best Ranch, Kathleen samples Wishbone Champagne Vinaigrette dressing, which she thinks is WAY too sweet and tangy. She moves on to sample Ranch Wheat Thins, which she doesn’t think taste at ALL like Ranch. She finishes her tasting with Kansas’s own Art’s & Mary’s Tater Chips, which she thinks have fantastic crunch and flavor.

FAKING JOAN OF ARC: Kathleen laughs while reading an article about a Medieval woman who made a living pretending to be Joan of Arc. Claude des Armoises’s ploy lasted four years, earned her a great deal of cash—and almost ensnared the King of France himself.

ARMADILLOS CONTINUE THEIR MARCH: Kathleen is fascinated to watch the migration of armadillos in the US, so much so that she talks about it in her act. She reads an article about the mystery behind this migration, as Armadillos have now been seen as north as Virginia. 

SAFEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD: Kathleen reads the 2022 list of Safest Countries in the World, with Iceland taking the top spot this year. 

GAME STOP WALK-OUT: Kathleen is amused reading an article about mass walk-outs by GameStop employees, citing unhealthy work conditions. 

GEICO ORDERED TO PAY WHEN STD CONTRACTED IN A CAR: Kathleen shakes her head in disbelief when reading an article advising that a Missouri woman was awarded $5.2 million in a settlement from insurance company GEICO after contracting a sexually transmitted disease from her partner in his vehicle, which was insured by the company, court documents show.

THE AMERICAN WHO INVENTED THE DONUT: Kathleen shares the story of Maine mariner Captain Hanson Gregory, who as a teenage galley boy, turned a poorly cooked blob of sailors’ sustenance into the iconic, ring-shaped, and deep-fried delicacy we know and love today.

She moves on to taste limited edition Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish, which is her absolute favorite new snack. She moves on to try Canada’s own Maynard’s Wine Gums, which she likes even though they’re too chewy for her new crown. 

UPDATES: Kathleen gives updates on the Q followers waiting for JFK in Dallas, the St. Louis McCloskey’s appeal to get their law licenses reinstated, and the US confiscation of the Russian superyacht in Fiji.

“HOLY SHIT THEY FOUND IT”: Kathleen is amazed to read about the discovery of the largest-ever predator dinosaur on the Isle of Wight, and the underwater “lost city of Zakhiku” resurfaces 3,400 years later on the Tigris River. 

CHRISLEY DOESN’T KNOW BEST: Kathleen is amused when reading that Todd and Julie Chrisley, stars of the reality TV show "Chrisley Knows Best," were found guilty of federal charges of tax evasion and conspiring to swindle community banks out of $30 million in fraudulent loans.

VIOLENT HAMSTERS: Kathleen reads the results of a study gone awry, with scientists shocked after gene-editing experiment unexpectedly turn hamsters into hyper-aggressive bullies. The technology being tested makes it possible to turn on or off genes in cells, which could make revolutionary changes in cancer treatment, etc. 

WALMART BUYS THE DENVER BRONCOS: Kathleen is appalled to read an announcement that the Denver Broncos and the Walton-Penner family, led by Walmart heir Rob Walton, have entered into a purchase and sale agreement for the takeover of the team for $4.65 billion, a record for an American sports franchise.

MYSTERIOUS TEXAS “WOLF MAN” SPOTTED: Kathleen is excited to read an article advising that a “wolf-man type creature” was spotted outside the gates of the Amarillo Zoo. The city has turned to the public for assistance in determining who or what the creature is. Kathleen loves ALL things bigfoot or Chupacabra related, and speculates her own thoughts on what the creature could be. 

FAMOUS CHIMP FOUND IN BASEMENT: Kathleen laughs as she reads an article that a famous Hollywood chimp was recently found by PETA in a Missouri basement.

SAVING HAWAII’S LANAI: Kathleen has visited the Hawaiian island of Lanai, and is bothered to read about the outcome of Larry Ellison’s purchase of the entire island. The eccentric co-founder of Oracle Corp bought the island, which included its businesses and all the land, which made him everyone’s boss, landlord, or both overnight. 

SHARKCANO ERUPTION CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Kathleen LOVES anything to do with sharks, and is thrilled to read about a “sharkcano” eruption that NASA recently captured on film off the coast of Australia. The underwater Kavachi volcano was dubbed "Sharkano" when it was determined that after the crater was an unlikely home to two species of shark able to exist in an extreme environment.

83-YR-OLD SAILS PACIFIC SOLO: Kathleen is thrilled to read an article about 83-yr-old Japanese man who recently set a record by becoming the world's oldest solo yachtsman to sail non-stop across the Pacific Ocean.

THE CHILDREN STALL ON CARVANA: Kathleen has always been fascinated with the business concept of Carvana, not believing that people will buy a vehicle sight-unseen, and isn’t surprised to read that the “Amazon of Dealers” is in deep financial trouble.

WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK: Kathleen recommends watching “Under the Banner of Heaven” and Teal Swan’s documentary “The Deep End” on Hulu.

She then samples Dale’s Wild West Elk Jerky, and she loves the salty taste. She finishes her tasting with Old El Paso Zesty Ranch Sauce, which she doesn’t think tastes anything like Ranch but offers that it might be ok on tacos. 

QUEEN’S COURT: It has been a quiet week for the Court, but Kathleen shares that her friend Kathe saw Tanya Tucker in North Carolina last weekend and thinks that Queen Tanya’s live show is better than ever.

UPDATES: Kathleen gives updates on the opening of ABBA’s Voyage avatar concert series in London, another Russian oligarch’s super yacht is seized in a UAE creek, Anna Delvey defrauds another “friend,” Elon Musk has issued a back-to-the-office ordinance and “the children” revolt, and the world’s oldest man celebrates his 113th birthday in Venezuela. 

“HOLY SHIT THEY FOUND IT”: Kathleen is amazed to read about the discovery in Alabama of the largest prehistoric cave drawings ever found in North America, and a 2,100 year old farmstead found “frozen in time in Israel

RUSSIAN SUPERYACHTS VANISHING FROM GLOBAL TRACKING: In maintaining her obsession regarding crushing the power of Russian oligarchs, Kathleen reads an article stating that superyachts linked to sanctioned Russian oligarchs are vanishing from global tracking systems in an attempt to avoid sanctions, according to an investigation by The Observer.

 PROTESTERS GONE WILD: Kathleen continues with her reporting on crazy protesters, reading about 2 recent protest actions: a French Open tennis protester ties herself to the Center Court net during the men’s semifinal, and the Mona Lisa was smeared with cake in an apparent climate protest. 

MAN DRESSES AS COLLIE TO BECOME A DOG: Kathleen is baffled reading an article about a Japanese man who spent more than $15,000 to fulfill his dream of transforming into a four-legged animal. The man, known only by his Twitter username, Toco, spent 2 million Japanese yen, or about $15,700, to create a lifelike rough-collie costume that he could inhabit.

POST OFFICE VACANCY IN ANTARCTICA: Kathleen thinks she knows a few Termites who would jump at the chance to take a job running the world’s most remote post office in Antarctica. The post is at Port Leroy, and responsibilities include counting penguins and running the gift shop. 

MCDONALD’S AND STARBUCKS LEAVE RUSSIA: Kathleen reads announcements that McDonald’s is leaving Russia, with the stores being sold and will continue to operate under a new proposed brand name called “Fun and Tasty.” She also reads that Starbucks is leaving the Russian market, following McDonald’s move. 

GALLERY OWNER CHARGED WITH COUNTERFEIT ART SALES: Kathleen loves the fine art world, and is enthralled with an article about a Florida gallery owner who has been charged with selling fake Banksy, Warhol, and Basquiat paintings to rich Palm Beach buyers.  

AMERICA’S LAST HOWARD JOHNSON’S RESTAURANT CLOSES: Kathleen reads an announcement that the last surviving Howard Johnson’s restaurant has closed, which was located in Lake George NJ.

“GOOD BAD FOOD”: In her quest for new and delicious not-so-nutritious junk food AND in continuing her search for the best Ranch, Kathleen tastes Baumhower’s Alabama White BBQ Sauce, which she likes but thinks is a little too sweet for her liking. She moves on to sample Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Sweet Carolina Reaper cheese puffs, which she spits out and compares to “FIAAAAHHHH!” She finishes her tasting with Nabisco Better Cheddars Snack Crackers, which she likes but prefers regular Cheez-Its 1000% more. 

QUEEN’S COURT: Kathleen gives an update that Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has expanded to Oklahoma. 

UPDATES: Kathleen gives updates on the sale of Warhol’s “Shot Sage Blue Marilyn”, Mattress Mack makes a huge Astros bet, Boris Becker’s prison situation, JetBlue’s hostile takeover of Spirit Airlines

“HOLY SHIT THEY FOUND IT”: Kathleen is amazed to read about the discovery of an undersea road to the lost city of Atlantis, a 6-year-old finds a Megalodon tooth in the UK, and a giant sinkhole with a forest inside is found in China.  

2022 BEST PLACES TO LIVE IN AMERICA: Kathleen reads the new list of the best places to live in the US for 2022-23, with Huntsville AL dethroning Boulder CO at the top spot. 

2022 FATTEST STATES IN AMERICA: Kathleen laughs out loud reading the 2022 list of “The Fattest States in America,” with Mississippi taking the top spot and Colorado being the Fittest. She agrees that she would also join the ranks of the “hearty Termites” in Mississippi if she lived in Biloxi since she absolutely loves the seafood and anything Cajun from Mary Mahoney’s restaurant. 

MONKEYPOX RESURFACES IN AMERICA: As a follow up to Episode 50, Kathleen reads a headline advising that multiple cases of Monkeypox have recently been identified in the US and Canada. She goes on to read about a mysterious “hybrid” monkey that was spotted in Malaysia and appears to be a combination of two different species. 

FREE DUKE’S MAYONNAISE TATTOOS: Kathleen is a massive fan of Duke’s Mayonnaise, and is thrilled to read an article announcing a 1-day promotion where Duke's sponsored 70 free Duke’s-themed tattoos at Yellow Bird Tattoo near its headquarters in Richmond, VA. 

SHERPA SCALES MT EVEREST FOR THE 26TH TIME: Kathleen loves reading about the Nepalese sherpas that work on Everest, and is blown away to read an article advising that Kami Rita Sherpa just beat his own world record for climbs of Everest after his 26th ascension at the age of 52. 

MAN OPENS PLANE EXIT DOOR WHEN REFUSED ALCOHOL: Kathleen is amused to read an article outlining the antics of a retired California roofer who fled a moving United Airlines plane through the emergency exit after the flight crew refused to serve him alcohol before takeoff. 

MYSTERIOUS “HOBBIT” SPECIES MAY NOT BE EXTINCT: Kathleen reads an article from Indonesia claiming that sightings of a small “ape-man” could be proof that the Homo floresiensis species (or hobbits,) may not be extinct and is still alive today in report parts of the area. 

WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK: Kathleen recommends watching David Bowie in the 1996 movie “Basquait” on YouTube.

“GOOD BAD FOOD”: In her quest for new and delicious not-so-nutritious junk food AND in continuing her search for the best Ranch, Kathleen samples Stonewall Kitchen’s Bacon Ranch Dressing, which she absolutely loves. She then tastes Best Foods Spicy Mayonnaise, which she doesn’t like because it has too much heat and not enough “tang.” She finishes off her tasting with Herr’s Honey Sriracha Kettle Cooked chips, which she finds conflicting with the sweet aftertaste but thinks honey lovers will like them.

IMMERSIVE DIGITAL CONCERTS ON THE RISE: As a follow-up to Episode 56, Kathleen reads about the upcoming ABBA avatar concert debut in London, entitled ABBA Voyage. The music industry has taken note of the success of this production, and other “Immersive” concepts such as the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit, and are looking to expand concert productions in this manner. Kathleen then reviews her latest Immersive experience, which was the Immersive Frida Kahlo exhibit in Los Angeles. 

“HOLY SHIT THEY FOUND IT”: Kathleen is amazed to read about the discovery of a Norwegian sandal from the Iron Age in Norway’s Horse Ice Patch, and a 2,000-year-old marble sculpture of a Roman bust in an Austin Goodwill. 

THE OLDEST NUN IN THE WORLD: Kathleen reads an article announcing that French nun Sister Andre has been anointed as the oldest nun in the world at the age of 118 years.

THE END OF THE ALABAMA PRISON BREAK: Kathleen was slightly obsessed with the activities of the Alabama fugitives on the run after Vicky White helped convicted murderer Casey White escape from prison. She offers her thoughts on motives, etc., and is saddened to read the final details of how the two were captured by Indiana authorities. 

QANTAS ANNOUNCES 20-HOUR FLIGHT LAUNCH: Kathleen reads a news release from Qantas Airlines who have announced that they are including direct flights from Sydney to London and NYC in their pending 2025 schedule. Each flight will take approx. 20 hours, making them the world’s longest passenger flights. 

JUMPING WORMS CONCERN SCIENTISTS: Kathleen is horrified to read an article about the introduction of a new species of jumping worms, called amynthas worms. Originally from East Asia, they have made their way to the US and are becoming a problem to the NE ecosystem. 

BORIS BECKER FAULTS ON TAX PAYMENTS: Kathleen reads an article advising that former tennis star Boris Becker has been found guilty and jailed after his attempt to hide millions after his 2017 bankruptcy filing. 

“DEAD” WOMAN BANGS ON COFFIN DURING HER OWN FUNERAL: Kathleen reads an article from Peru where a woman who was declared “dead” after a fatal car accident actually banged on her coffin lid during her funeral to alert her family that she was in fact still alive. 

WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK: Kathleen recommends that all Termites watch the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs (and please cheer for her Blues if you don’t have a team ☺)

OLDEST RARE EXISTING SCOTCH AUCTIONED IN VANCOUVER: Kathleen reads an article announcing that 2 bottles of the world’s oldest and most exceptionally rare single-malt Scotch whiskey are expected to be sold in Vancouver at the end of April. Only 250 bottles of Glenlivet 80-Year-Old Gordon and MacPhail are available in the world, and a British Columbia store secured bottles 100 and 108. The auction will start with the current record baseline price set for a rare “forgotten” cask of whiskey that sold for $1M at auction. 

JET BLUE REJECTION: Kathleen laughs as she reads an article about an overbooked JetBlue flight to Cancun where passengers were offered $10,000 in JetBlue credit to give up their seat, and nobody took it. 

NEW BUG SPECIES HONORS TAYLOR SWIFT: Kathleen loves Taylor Swift (“Tay-Tay”) and is thrilled to read an article announcing that an entomologist who is also a Taylor fan has named a new millipede species after the singer. 

SURVIVAL SLEEPING: Kathleen reads the results of a study that advises when you sleep in unfamiliar surroundings, only half your brain is getting a good night's rest. The finding, reported in the journal Current Biology, helps explain why people tend to feel tired after sleeping in a new place. It suggests people have something in common with birds and sea mammals, which frequently put half their brain to sleep while the other half remains on guard.

MONEY CAN BUY YOU HAPPINESS: Kathleen reads that Wharton psychologists have determined that people who make $75K or more per year lead a generally happier life than those who make less (duh.)

WHITE HOUSE PAINTING PREPS FOR AUCTION: Kathleen reads that the famous painting Washington Crossing the Delaware that once hung in the White House is to be auctioned by Christies, and is estimated to fetch $15M. 

SOUTH CAROLINA FIRING SQUAD: Kathleen reads an article advising that South Carolina's planned execution by firing squad is on hold for now. It has been more than a decade since the last firing squad execution in the U.S. The state of Utah carried out all three such executions in the nation since 1976.

CARPET CLEANER SPEAKS 24 LANGUAGES: Kathleen is amused to read about the overachieving nature of a Maryland-based carpet cleaner who speaks 24 languages, officially termed a “hyperpolyglot.”

RED WOLF PUPPIES BORN: Kathleen is excited to read that US Fish & Wildlife staff in North Carolina welcomed a litter of 6 red wolf pups into the world earlier this week. It's the first time in 4 years that a pair of endangered red wolves gave birth to a litter in the wild.

GREG NORMAN SAUDI GOLF SAGA CONTINUES: As an avid golf fan, Kathleen brings Termites up to speed on the latest in the Greg Norman LIV Golf saga.

Kathleen opens the show drinking a Raygun IPA from Backpocket Brewing in Coralville, IA. She talks about the highlights of her weekend in Iowa City, Des Moines, and Kansas City including meeting Justin Bieber’s Tour Manager at the hotel in Des Moines and shopping at her favorite Raygun store. She then reviews her Kansas City Sunday lunch at the downtown Arthur Bryant’s location in Kansas City.

“GOOD BAD FOOD”: In her quest for new and delicious not-so-nutritious junk food AND in continuing her search for the best Ranch, Kathleen samples Better Made’s Special Salt & Vinegar chips, which she rates a B+ and loves the vinegar content. She moves on to try Hidden Valley Ranch Secret Sauce, which is sweet and tangy, and she thinks would be fantastic on chicken fingers. She finishes her tasting with Iowa’s own Brown Dog’s Farm Habanero Peach hot sauce, which scorches her mouth and makes her laugh out loud. 

QUEEN’S COURT: Kathleen read an article where Queen Stevie Nicks announces that the person with whom is her “favorite person to sing with” is Natalie Maines from The Chicks (The Dixie Chicks). The two artists first crossed in 2002 when The Chicks covered Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Landslide’, and they eventually had the chance to perform it together, which was an unforgettable moment for Nicks.

UPDATES: Kathleen gives updates on the oldest person in the world, and the status of Anna Delvey’s deportation fight.

“HOLY SHIT THEY FOUND IT”: Kathleen is amazed to read about the discovery of a 1,500-year-old knife once owned by a Norwegian reindeer hunter, and a 12,500-year-old sphinx in Pakistan

KINDERGARTEN HAPPY HOUR: Kathleen laughs out loud when reading an article about a Michigan Kindergarten class who accidentally consumed tequila during snack time. One of the kids brought a bottle of ready-to-drink Jose Cuervo margaritas in her backpack, and several students drank it. One kindergartner "felt woozy" and a "little dizzy" after having four or five sips from a Dixie cup, which prompted the teachers to investigate.

CNN PLUS FOLDS AFTER ONE MONTH: Kathleen can’t believe it when she reads an announcement that CNN’s news app CNN Plus is folding after only 1 month of activity. CNN+ was launched on 29 March in an attempt to bring in revenues from news streaming subscriptions, and even though the company spent as much as $300m on developing the service it got off to a slow start, attracting just 10,000 viewers a day, according to reports.

Kathleen reads the list of contributors from news reporters to celebrity chefs, stating that the only “food” show that she watches religiously is Trisha Yearwood’s “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.” 

NETFLIX STOCK PLUNGES AFTER SUBSCRIBER PURGE: Kathleen laughs when reading an article advising that Netflix stock has plunged 35% after announcing that password sharing on accounts was no longer going to be tolerated. She wonders aloud that “didn’t they KNOW we were sharing accounts?” Netflix said it expected to lose two million global subscribers in the current quarter.

ELON BUYS TWITTER AND PLANS TO COLONIZE MARS: Kathleen is fascinated by Elon Musk’s business moves, and is thrilled to read that he has successfully become the majority shareholder of Twitter. With some of his remaining riches, he’s planning to colonize Mars, warning that life on that planet will be dangerous, cramped, and difficult.  

MEET THE WORLD’S OLDEST DOG: Kathleen is amused to read that the world’s oldest living dog is a chihuahua named Toby Keith. 

TIKTOK CHILDREN VS DOLLAR GENERAL: Kathleen applauds reading an article about a Dollar General manager named Mary who created a viral video detailing the difficulties involved in running one of their stores.

WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK: Kathleen recommends watching “Basquait” on Amazon Prime.
