21. Biological Infant Sleep: Reclaiming Intuitive Motherhood | Taylor Kulik
Season 3
jeudi 28 avril 2022 • Duration 01:14:25
Taylor Kulik started educating & supporting mothers from around the world about biological infant sleep and responsive parenting after her own journey with her first child. When her daughter was an infant and became increasingly more difficult to place into a crib for daytime or nighttime sleep, Taylor found herself between 1 or 2 options: sleep training (since that seems to be the only answer from the internet, friends, family, or professionals), or accidentally falling asleep herself while trying to nurse her daughter back to sleep. As a healthcare professional, Taylor had heard every fear-based message in the book about the "dangers" of co-sleeping, but once she realized that this was the most instinctual way to sleep with her baby, she expanded her research and realized that much more people were co-sleeping around the world than what she previously believed. Since then, Taylor's mission has been to offer safe co-sleeping information to mothers that they are often withheld from healthcare professionals. We invited Taylor on the podcast to dismantle sleep myths & sleep taboos, and offer what often is the missing piece in our motherhood journey that can optimize the entire family's sleep at night, while honoring biological needs & healthy attachment.
Join us as we sit down & discuss the following:
- Our culture's obsession with infant sleep
- Our experiences with a more biological approach to sleep
- How the sleep training industry created a "problem," and then sold us a "solution"
- Sleeping through the night is not a rite of passage
- Your body is enough
- Setting yourself up for realistic expectations
- How to support mothers
- Factors that go into baby's sleep
- Allowing dependence is how you facilitate independence
- Is our system set up to support mothers & babies?
- The implications of the lack of a village
- Addressing the foundation of biological needs
- An honest talk about "mom shaming"
- What is bedsharing?
- Biologically normal infant sleep patterns

17. The Big Picture of Tongue Ties | Michale Chatham
Season 3 · Episode 2
jeudi 24 février 2022 • Duration 01:25:35
During her 25 year career in dentistry, Michale Chatham helped build & create one of the first integrative centers for tongue tie releases. Thousands of cases deep, her health collapsed after her own tongue tie release. Her RN, IBCLC, massage therapy, and myofunctional background allowed her to zoom out and see the full picture of fascia & body expression. What she learned is that tongue ties need individual, holistic, big picture care. They are not a one-size-fits-all standard. Most practitioners look right to the mouth when they suspect an oral tie, but Michale takes a much different approach: one that allows us to differentiate between a real tie, or simply a tight frenum.
Join us as we sit down & discuss the following:
- Michale's background & experience
- Michale's health collapse after her tongue tie release
- Tongue tie revisions: do they "work"?
- The holistic approach to oral ties
- Why "fix" and work" are empty words
- Why revisions are controlled trauma
- The importance of knowing your outcome goals
- Finding a provider that supports you
- Are tongue tie revisions necessary?
- Are tongue ties more common now, or are we just now focusing on them?
- Practical tips for your baby from home
- It starts with you
- Big announcement!

15. Has Your Pursuit Of Health Become Unhealthy? | Josh & Jeanne Rubin
Season 2 · Episode 15
mercredi 8 décembre 2021 • Duration 01:18:01
Josh & Jeanne Rubin, who you might know as @realfoodganstas on Instagram, are some of the true OG's in the metabolic health world. These two have paved the way in not only thyroid & metabolic health, but in how to create a sustainable health journey that you truly enjoy. The Rubins have 20 years of clinical work under their belt and have pursued education through a wide range of programs, including the CHECK institute (Paul Chek) & the RCP institute (Morley Robbins). While the Rubins encourage a food-first approach to healing, they emphasize that it can't stop there. We HAVE to address the mind. We HAVE to address the nervous system. "The biology of the individual cannot be separated from the social and psychological aspects of their life." Our mindset shapes our biology. We can be checking boxes all day long, but we can get lost in the process and create more chaos in the stress of "doing all the right things." Has your pursuit of health become unhealthy? Find out in our season 2 finale!
Join us as we sit down & discuss the following:
- Josh & Jeanne's health philosophy: it always comes back to the cell
- Introduction to the nervous system
- How our nervous system impacts how we see the world
- How our nervous system gets shaped as a child
- How developmental trauma occurs
- How trauma impacts our healing
- The importance of "play" in reconnecting to our bodies
