She founded her practice, Volante PT & Performance, with a strong focus on rehabilitation and performance coaching for runners, especially those dealing with bone-stress injuries

Erik Meira - Rehabbing Achilles Rupture Repairs

Erik Meira joined Noah for the second time on Forward Physio to discuss the principles of early rehab for Achilles rupture repairs.
Erik is a physical therapist and educator who is well known for being the first person to start a podcast related to physical therapy back in 2011. Clinically, Erik mainly works with collegiate and professional level athletes. He has authored several articles and textbook chapters, has been a keynote speaker at large conferences, and hosts a variety of courses both in person and online. He is the owner of TheSciencePT.com and the creator of the Elite Rehab Conferences, which currently include conferences on basketball, football, soccer, and hockey. Fun fact: Erik is also a pilot!

Peter Stilwell is a Canadian pain researcher who currently holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Southern Denmark. He is also an Affiliate Member at McGill University in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences - School of Physical & Occupational Therapy. He has published articles in leading journals in the areas of pain, qualitative methods, philosophy, and medical humanities.
He is well-known for his research on an enactive approach to pain. In today's episode, we discuss how the biopsychosocial model is lost in translation, why pain isn't just in the brain, a model for thinking about pain you may not be aware of, and much, much more. Enjoy.

He is the current Manager of Operations for UF Health's Department of Rehabilitation, the director of their sports and orthopedic physical therapy residency programs, and the Membership Chair of the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy.
Scott also co-founded the Gait Geeks, whose mission is to empower healthcare professionals and enthusiasts with specialized knowledge in walking and running gait analysis, and the fabrication and implementation of foot orthoses.
