You just need the right strategies to help you.

Stiff joints in the morning is a common symptom of osteoarthritis. It may take up to 30 minutes of moving around for the stiffness to subside. There may even be accompanying joint pain as well. You are not alone in experiencing this. 

As a physical therapist, I wanted to shed light on how you can reduce both morning stiffness and joint pain so you can set yourself up for success during the day. Food can have incredible anti-inflammatory effects! 

Eating the right foods can contribute to reduced arthritis pain, reduced stiffness and can help to preserve the joint, preventing progression of osteoarthritis. Including certain foods into your osteoarthritis diet can make you feel so much better and give you more freedom to move.

In this video, join Dr. Alyssa Kuhn, physical therapist and osteoarthritis as she explains which foods can be beneficial in reducing inflammation and helping your arthritic joints feel better.

There is also one ingredient that can wreak havoc on arthritic joints and can actually lead to more inflammation. Learn about this towards the end of the video.

Making a change to your diet to include broccoli, walnuts, blueberries and fatty fish can make a big difference in reducing overall inflammation and seeing improvements in your symptoms related to osteoarthritis.

  2. Shorten workouts 
  3. Consider full body moves
