S4-E4: AI in UX Research - Beyond Productivity, Toward Responsibility

Season 4 · Episode 4

mercredi 29 avril 2026Duration 27:19

Send us Fan Mail

AI is now entering almost every stage of the UX Research workflow — from briefing and discussion guides to transcription, synthesis, and reporting.

But while the productivity gains are real, speed is not the only question.

In this solo episode, Emmanuelle explores where AI is genuinely helping researchers, where caution is needed, and why the future value of UX Research will depend increasingly on human judgment, accountability, and oversight.

In this episode:

  •  The current hype and anxiety around AI in UX Research
  •  Automation, machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI, what’s the difference?
  •  Where AI is already showing up in the research workflow
  •  Why faster outputs do not always mean deeper insights
  •  Data privacy, vendor trust and researcher accountability
  •  Why AI is pushing UX Research beyond productivity into strategic responsibility

If AI is becoming part of your workflow, this is a conversation worth having.

In this episode of The UX Research Club, I’m joined by Julia Gurney, Senior UX Researcher and Accessibility Lead at Eye Square in Berlin.

We discuss why accessibility must be embedded into UX research from the start — not treated as a final step. Julia shares her journey, practical tips for inclusive research, and why accessible design benefits all users, not just those with disabilities.

S2-E2: Running a research project - Planning your research (Part 1)

Season 2 · Episode 1

mercredi 29 novembre 2023Duration 26:18

Send us Fan Mail

While doing a research project, it is important to follow a systematic process, such as preparing a research plan, identifying your participants/respondents, collecting the data, analysing them, extracting and interpreting your data to translate them into actionable insights, and communicating them to your stakeholders.

As there is so much to cover to conduct a research project, I will propose 3 episodes to cover all the steps.

Planning

Before starting any research project, planning or preparation for any research project is essential.  I have seen so many organisations skipping this phase.

The planning phase is, in my opinion, one of the most important steps of any research project.

Could you imagine any medical, psychological, or social research without any plan or protocol?
This episode will cover the research plan, starting by defining what a research plan is.   why we are doing it before starting any project? and what should be included in your research plan.

Thank you for listening  🙏
