77. How Prostate Cancer Liberated Picasso to Explore Sexual Creativity
Episode 77
jeudi 24 mars 2022 • Duration 38:46
(A refreshing look into Prostate Cancer Journey )
For today’s episode, we will be talking with Picasso.
Picasso was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer at 59 years old. His history involves up and down PSA levels. One day, his new GP, after looking at his records, advised him to go and see a specialist. After an MRI and a biopsy, Picasso had to undergo assisted robotic prostatectomy – amidst the early stages of the pandemic.
After surgery, Picasso had great results when it came to his continence (he did not even need to wear pads) and sexual function.
So now, two years after the surgery and already 61, Picasso has learned and started to get to know his penis in a different level. According to him, after the surgery, the way he was learning about his sexuality has been liberating. Coming from a religious background, Picasso has this limited core belief around sex... all this changed afterward.
And IF you’re curious to know what were the steps Picasso took to have these great results, have a listen! Spoiler alert – he did early Physio, Pilates, Yoga, and mindfulness. Plus penis vitamins after the surgery. 😉
Enjoy listening! If you are interested in doing Yoga or Pilates, send us a message and we’ll try our best to refer you to one.

74. Meet Peri-pain Pete. Let’s talk about pain in the perineum.
Episode 74
mercredi 23 février 2022 • Duration 36:04
Today, we speak with Peri-pain Pete.
Pete is a 72-year old retired geologist who experienced pain in his perineum following prostate removal. Being a retiree who loves to cycle and is quite active sports wise, the peri-pain did affect his life.
When did the pain start? According to Pete, it was when his catheter came out that he noticed the pain. The pain is exacerbated by standing but is relieved when sitting or lying down. After much research, Pete didn't find any explanation as to the cause.
So... this episode will help us navigate through 'Peri-pain' and see what Pete did to resolve the issue. Then, Dr Jo will discuss a few possible causes of the pain plus a simple anatomy lesson. Melissa will also add information about medications and assessments. And lastly, this might be the first episode where Dr Jo teaches how to ‘subtlety’ do nuts-to-guts.
It's an interesting episode again this week! We hope the golden nut-gets from today's episode will help those experiencing the same pain as Pete had.
Have fun listening!

Episode 71
mardi 1 février 2022 • Duration 28:17
Did you know that 1 in 6 men develop Peyronies after Radical prostatectomy?
So for today’s episode, we will talk about it - Peyronies disease... but instead of a patient’s, it will be FROM a physiotherapist’s point of view. And for this one, we will be talking to our resident physio, Dr. Jo.
Dr. Jo will discuss the causes, the old (fad) treatments, the newest discoveries (focus shockwave plus Dr Jo’s research), theories why this happens (‘Neuropraxia’ and trauma), herbal supplements that MAY help, and a few more useful information you can use and/or share in case you know a friend/loved one that has it.
