What a pleasure and an honour it was to have Sean Casey on this episode and it was only fitting that he should be my first ever guest. And what an episode it is! 

Sean’s approach to weight loss and what I have learnt from him and as a member of GleanApp has changed my life and allowed me to finally crack fat loss after battling with it for decades. 

Sean shared his wisdom on not judging others, the importance of empathy and education in any weight loss journey, why he built Glean App and his hopes for every person who joins to achieve their goals while still enjoying life. We talked about his approach to handling criticism with confidence and openness, the satisfaction he gets from helping others, building businesses based on his passions and much more.  

Sean always brings incredible value and I think this episode will really help anyone struggling to begin or restart a weight loss journey - and his take on life and business is well worth a listen too.

In this episode I talk about grief, my own journey through my husband Todd’s illness and his death and how I am navigating my way through grief. 

I also discuss some of the topics that came in from listeners, like the new role we find ourselves in after the death of a loved one, anticipatory grief, complicated grief and grief following loss that is not associated with death.

Episode #6 The Drawbacks of Aiming for Perfection

In this episode I discuss how my idea of perfectionism stood in my way in all things - particularly in terms of starting and sustaining weight loss.

Striving for perfection can be so damaging, leading us to all or nothing thinking, having unrealistic expectations, procrastination and ultimately burnout. In my case I realise now that I was unconsciously using it as a defense against being judged. Moving to a place of 'good enough' has been freeing and beneficial in so many ways.
