Jimmy Yates out of Houston Texas runs Knuckle Up drift events and is a member of Essence Drift team. He’s known for his car styling and big personality. He’s also an emcee for Final Bout. Jimmy Yates was one of our first 10 guests, 4 years ago, and that episode was a fan favorite because of his storytelling. This time JY is a father and event organizer and his car styling and driving style has changed. We dive into modern day drifting and what it’s like to make it sustainable while dealing with new responsibilities.

Ryota Hirakawa AKA @splash0327 is a Meihan local Drifter out of Osaka Japan. He runs Cutting Works Splash and has been drifting well over a decade. He has traveled the world and made friends all throughout the drift community due to his friendly nature and hard driving style. He has been pushing his driving on some of the most notoriously difficult tracks in the world and is ultra dedicated to the sport.

We also have one of our Goodest Cast crowd favorites back Branden Mace AKA @macey14. Branden has been living in Japan for over a decade and once was an early 20’s dude from Australia running around Osaka, streeting and going to drive the “hills” with Jesse Streeter. Now he’s a family man and has been in Japan a long time. He is also pushing in his S15 harder and harder.

We talk about some of the interesting details of Japanese drifting especially Kansai All Stars, along with some of the other nuances and difficulties. We were all exhausted filming this but we pulled through for you guys. I hope you like this episode!

Rich Whiteman is one of the Grassroots drifting Goats in the US. He drifts a ton and at a wide range of events. Rhys Conklin is a 16 year drifter who started drifting years ago way before he could even dream of having a driver's license. Thanks to some interesting contacts and a super supportive family he got to chase his dream from an early age. At 16 he’s doing some serious driving with the RTR guys and not only that but handling the business side of things also. We talk about what it takes to deal with school and balancing other things in life. We talk about avoiding burnout when your life is all drifting all the time. We talk about the future and sim drifting of course. We even talk about how fortunate he is to be in the situation where his whole family is supporting his goals and how unique that is in drifting at this time. I’m excited to see what Rhys can do over the next few years.

Kendal Klein is a certified badass drifter. She drives her 240sx super aggressive on dangerous tracks like AVS (Grange) and runs an all girls drift event called Sparkle Motion. She can weld, work on cars, ride bmx, and she’s super funny. Kendal tows her s13 and drives events all over California also. Aaron Leavitt is not only my Drift Team Animal Style team mate but he’s also one of my close friends. We shared an insane month in LA and felt like we had to do a podcast to talk about it. Benson and Nadine are two west coast drifting legends. They met through Nissan and S Chassis meetups in Southern California in the late 90’s and continued to learn about car style, and drifting together. They went from tuners to professional drifters and parents. Their wedding was covered in Super Street and featured their S13s which is one of the most iconic car wedding shoots in the US. Benson and Nadine were competitors in the first two years of Formula Drift. Benson shipped his caged street S13 with a stock sr20det, including a t25 turbo to run against race cars at the 2004 season of FD. Nadine drove her s13 in FD as well and is one of the first professional female drifters in the US. They’ve both been featured in a few top tier magazines when car mags were the pinnacle of tuner culture. Nadine was even on the cover of Carboy Magazine. Nadine is a published author and has been fighting for women to be equal in motorsport since she started.

Together they have influenced drifting and car culture for well over two decades. Not to mention their Sileighty Mania Podcast which has some of the most influential people in drifting telling the stories of the origins of US drifting.  We’re doing a crossover so check out my episode where they interview me.

Kazuya Taguchi is one of the very few drifters who have competed in drifting at the top level in multiple countries. He came to the United States from Japan a little over three years ago and had to learn English and a lot more along the way. He came here to win and has been working his way up to being a force in Formula Drift while still making time for building cool cars with the JDM style we love so much. Kazuya is also part of the famous Japanese drift team Moccomans whose headquarters is Garage Yamaguchi. We get into Kazuya’s origin story back in Japan and his early days street drifting stories. Kazuya has a very high drift IQ and there’s a lot to learn about his evaluation of driving and techniques.

Geoff Stoneback is an east coast OG. He’s been a professional drifter, but decided to make drifting more fun and chase team driving and do demos all over the country.
