Happy Tuesday! Joe Erskine, baseball afficionado and Private Division producer, is BACK! The regular season is coming to an end and the Cardinals are out of the race. Joey's Mets on the other hand, are making a push for what could be a really fun post-season. We do eventually get around to talking games: some Cult of the Lamb, some College Football, some Space Marine 2.

Here it is. The first episode of my "On Playing With" series. This episode is focused, as the title suggests, on the ever-evolving social structure of playing games with my group of friends, how that group changes (for good and bad), how the games constantly change, and how balance is a dish best served carefully. There are good times and bad times bundled up in this experience. And it's an experience I wouldn't trade, though I do sometimes wish I could switch it off for a few days. What’s up everyone! Eric is away again (don’t worry, we miss him more), but Caleb, Ryan and Ben hold it down on this week’s episode of Bounty Board! Join the trio as they debate whether or not the game industry is becoming too dependent on player interaction, leaving games feeling hollow when played alone.

Caleb has been tied up with Breakpoint for the last few weeks with no one to join him, so he leads the charge on this question. The crew discusses games that allow co-op and solo play, but where the solo play feels lacking. The conversation takes a turn eventually, but we won’t spoil that for you here, you have to dig In and hear it yourself.

What’s up everyone! We have a bit of a special episode this week. A few weeks ago, Caleb and Ben had the opportunity to talk to Kevin Agwaze, Treasurer of Game Workers Unite UK. We wanted to go more in depth than we could on our Unionization episode, so we went straight to the source! Our conversation with Kevin was great, and covered anything from European laws that protect their workers, to what a game engine really is. There is a lot of value in this talk.

Game Workers Unite

What’s up everyone! It’s that time again! Eric is away on a work trip, so this week three of the Bounty Board crew members return to discuss the lasting power of the Battle Royale game type (mode?). Fortnite is two years old. PUBG two and a half. How have those games done in their time on the market? More importantly, how are other Battle Royales doing?

Since the initial craze of the last man standing game mode, we have seen several titles tick across our feeds. Vigor, The Darwin Project, Ring of Elysium, and perhaps most notably, Apex Legends. At the same time, the “I can’t escape this” craze has seemingly died down. Join Caleb, Ben, and Ryan as they discuss whether Battle Royale is here to stay, or if it is on its way out.
