Ep 122:The Real Reason Your Website Isn’t Showing Up on Google (And What to Do About It)

Episode 122

lundi 23 septembre 2024Duration 18:30

Do you feel like your website is lost in the sea of Google search results? You've built a great-looking site, filled it with awesome content, and yet… crickets. No clients, no inquiries, and hardly any traffic. If you’ve ever wondered why Google seems to be ignoring your site, this episode is for you!

In this week's podcast, I break down the most common reasons why your website might not be bringing in clients from Google—and, most importantly, what you can do to change that. The good news is, in most cases, it's totally fixable!

Tune in as we cover:

  • Why Google might not know your website even exists (and how to make sure it does)
  • What to do if Google hasn’t indexed your pages (hint: there’s a tool for that!)
  • The reasons Google could choose not to index your page—and how to avoid them
  • Why your site isn’t showing up on page 1, even if it’s indexed (and what you can do about it)
  • Simple, actionable steps you can take today to boost your chances of getting found by Google

By the end of this episode, you’ll have a clear understanding of what might be holding your website back in search results and the steps you need to take to get Google working for you—so you can start attracting those all-important clients.

Ep22: 7 Ways to Find New Clients

Episode 22

lundi 14 février 2022Duration 22:22

This episode talks about 7 ways to find new clients, specifically reaching a new audience - not people who already know about you.

In order for people to become clients they first need to know you exist. You don't just want to be known by the largest number of people, it is about getting visible in front of people who are potentially going to become clients.

Once they know about you, you then need to direct them to your website (which will be set up for them to find out what they need to "know, like and trust" you to become clients), sign up to your email list and/or follow you on social media until they're ready to become a client

Ep 20: How to quickly grow your email list

Episode 20

lundi 31 janvier 2022Duration 19:38

What would you do if you lost your social media account? Cry? Then what?

Do you have an alternative? Do you have an email list?

Closure (temporary or permanent) of Instagram and Facebook accounts is something that happens. More often than you might realise. And often there is not a lot you can do about it. Because you don't own that list of followers.

Building up an email list is something we should all be doing. Not just in case something happens to your social media account, but because emails are more likely to be opened than posts on social media are seen. And because they convert better.

But it isn't that easy. It requires a bit of effort. This episode is all about why it is worth making that effort and how you can quickly build that list.

Ep19: 7 tips for writing your website About Page

Episode 19

lundi 24 janvier 2022Duration 17:04

Writing your About Page is the hardest page to write on your website.  And, to be honest, it is the page most people get WRONG (that and the services page – but that’s another podcast episode!!)

You don’t like talking about yourself.  Maybe, like me, you’re British and were brought up that’s it is rude to brag.  Maybe you used to work for a large organisation and had been taught it isn’t about you - it is about the company.  And you just feel uncomfortable talking about yourself.  You don’t want the spotlight on you.  You just want to get on with building your business.

But your About Page is a hugely important page on your website.   Website visitors usually want to know more about you before they decide to work with you - it is about the know, like and trust factor.  They say people buy from people.  Actually, when you run a service based business people buy from people they think understand them.

They’re interested in YOU and they are looking to see if they think YOU can help them.  And to be honest, we’re all a bit nosey!!

So what can you do?

Well I’m here to help.  I have 7 top tips which I hope will make the difference.

Ep18: Tools I use in my business

Episode 18

lundi 17 janvier 2022Duration 26:59

I don't know about you but I love to know how other people run their businesses, especially the tools they use to make their life easier. Tools that save you time, make your business more efficient and help the clients you want to work with.

Well this episode spills the beans on the tools that I use to run my business from accounting software to CRMS to this podcast and lots in between.

Ep 16: 7 reasons why you need a website

Episode 16

lundi 3 janvier 2022Duration 17:50

I often get asked whether, in this day of social media, funnels and email “landing pages”, you need to have a website.

And the straightforward answer is, it depends. There are many reasons why you should have a website, but when you're just starting out there are some other things to focus on first.

But this episode gives you some reasons why you really should have a website once you're established.

Enjoy!
