Episode 49 | Perth Running Festival Preview with Sam Maxwell | Pre Cape to Cape Chat with Matt Neves
Episode 50
dimanche 29 septembre 2024 • Duration 01:27:25
Dan in is back on the WARP this week with Matt to take you through another big week in WA running. Both hosts do very little running this week, with Dan still nursing a sore knee post charity run and Matt getting distracted by a new fascination in Golf and cross training. Arguably Perth's biggest day on the running calendar is on next weekend with the Perth Running Festival. Matt and Dan are joined by Elite Athlete Coordinator, Sam Maxwell, to help preview the Elite Fields and who to watch out for next Sunday across the 4 distances. Sam gives us intel on the big names making the trip to Perth from overseas. We discuss how the event will hope to grow in coming years and what it may take to attract Australia's best runners. We also have a chat to Matt Neves, who takes on the iconic Cape to Cape Trails on Monday. We discuss his high mileage training, the inspiration for taking on the challenge and all of the intricacies involved for such a big day. Good luck Matt! Matt was also very lucky to be invited to Tarkine HQ during the week to meet the team and chat with Co-Founder Sam Burke. With the latest release of Tarkines new daily trainer, the Autopilot, we were lucky to snag a pair and will be doing some user testing in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for a review and exciting developments with Tarkine. Have a great week in running and good luck to all running in the PRF. See you next week!
