On how to feel less fearful of death

vendredi 30 août 2024Duration 14:05

In this, the last of a special ten part series of The Therapy Edit, Anna talks through the second of The Uncomfortable Truths; I am going to die.

The Uncomfortable Truth: Change Your Life By Taming 10 of Your Mind's Greatest Fears is Anna's 5th book was published on the 8th August.
Order your copy here

Here's a teaser from Anna about what to expect in this long-awaited, transformative book.

‘Some people don’t like me”
“Bad things will happen to people I love”
“I’m going to fail”
… these words underpinned my anxieties and nightmares. I bet they feature in yours too.

Our fears are anchored in the unavoidable truths of life; all things reach an end, bad things happen, and we lack the control we crave.

As an experienced psychotherapist, who’s had years of therapy, I realised that ploughing endless energy into trying to control the uncontrollable is keeping us all tired, wired, and worried. Ignoring fears doesn’t make them less true, it makes them more powerful. I decided to try a different tact and it changed my world.

Instead of doing everything I could to ease and avoid life’s uncomfortable truths, I sought a deeper acceptance of them. Through using this approach, my clients and I discovered that fear began to loosen its grip. We were living more intentionally and peacefully.

So, face your fears one a chapter at a time, and discover who you are without worry, doubt and people-pleasing holding you back.

vendredi 8 septembre 2023Duration 23:38

One Thing with Bronagh Meere on creating a school run capsule wardrobe

vendredi 1 septembre 2023Duration 21:54

In today’s guest episode of The Therapy Edit, Anna welcomes Bronagh Meere from @whiledollysleeps who shares her ideas for creating the perfect capsule wardrobe for school mum life.

Bronagh Meere kicked off her fashion career during Heat magazine’s heyday, when she landed a job on what was arguably the most influential style desk of its time. She made the leap to freelancing in 2008 and remains one of the industry's most in-demand stylists to this day.

Whether she’s working her magic on celebrity shoots, big-brand advertising campaigns, music videos, TV shows or as a personal stylist to VIPs, her friendly approach, unrivalled work ethic and ceaseless style knowledge have kept her at the forefront of the industry.

When her daughter Dolly was born seven years ago, Bronagh created an Instagram account called @whiledollysleeps, in honour of the fact that it was the only chance she had to get any work done! When her son Hugo followed two years later, she had even less time but an ever-increasing passion for posting vibrant, must-have, easy-to-duplicate outfits, as well as top style tips (and the occasional insight into her Edwardian house renovation, which she lovingly refers to as ‘the building site’). As a result, @whiledollysleeps has organically grown into a warm, fun, colourful account where followers can interact with each other about everything from raincoats to cowboy boots and keep up to date with Bronagh’s (occasionally out-there) day-to-day style.
