mercredi 4 mai 2022Duration 17:40

On today's episode Dr. Oakley and Holly chat about vaginal weightlifting which is a pelvic floor exercise similar to Kegels, where you lift and squeeze objects in order to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. It may sound a little "out there," but as long as you follow the proper techniques, it's a safe way to spice up your sex life and improve your health. Also on this episode: This isn't your typical cranberry pill… UTIVA for the WIN!!! UTIs are soooo annoying!!! If you haven't had one (you go, girl) but were are almost certain that your sister, best friend, cousin, college roommate, mom has had one, is having one, or is about to have one. So, what can you do to solve a problem like... burning pee??!!! Dr. Oakley loves and recommends Utiva to her patients and she takes it daily. Check it out: https://www.utivahealth.com/ - Her favorite is the Utiva Cranberry PACs: it's a simple, small, once-a-day pill taken for daily support of the urinary tract to prevent ongoing UTIs. NEW EPISODE!!! 109: Doula vs midwife: What's the difference?

mardi 22 mars 2022Duration 26:17

A doula and a midwife have a unique and important role to play in your birth plan. A midwife is a specialist who's qualified to deliver babies and care for a woman and her baby during pregnancy, labor and after the birth. A doula, on the other hand, can offer support, guidance and practical help throughout your birth and beyond. Some doulas may be trained midwives, but the term itself refers to a role that's not medically qualified. The purpose of World Doula Week is to empower doulas all over the world to improve the physiological, social, emotional, and psychological health of women, newborns and families in birth and in the postpartum period. Also, you asked- Should I Eat My Placenta? If you've ever had questions about the benefits of using your placenta - and the ways to do it - look no further than our conversation about it in this episode with Dr. Oakley and special guest Mandy Dalhover, Midwife/CNM. Thank you for listening. Please send in your comments, questions and suggestions for future topics at TheLadyBodPod@gmail.com. For more details on the LBP: https://theladybodpod.com.
