The Great Unlearn
Cal Callahan
Frequency: 1 episode/11d. Total Eps: 207

We grew up in a world we didn’t create. And one idea after the next—whether it was culture or society—we were told how to look, how to feel, and who to be. We were told that if we checked off the “right” boxes (think: career, car, money), we’d feel good, we’d be whole, and—naturally—we’d be set. But, turns out, there’s more to the story. On The Great Unlearn, Cal dives into unlearning and questioning what the world taught us, and—in the process—how to be the truest version of yourself, minus the bullshit. Whether it’s figuring out how to navigate a relationship, dealing with your emotions, diving into spirituality, or just feeling comfortable in your own skin, Cal and friends navigate the choppy waters of what it really takes to unlearn all the ideas we took for granted, and how to be the best version of what, sometimes, can be so hard to be: yourself.

63. Jason Khalipa | Balancing Our Life’s Core Values
mardi 6 juillet 2021 • Duration 59:17
Competing at the Crossfit Games on 8 separate occasions and taking home the W in 2008, Jason Khalipa joins us today to share his wisdom around the age-old concept – balance. Something that we sometimes lose sight of as we find ourselves submerged in our fast-paced society; derailing from our priorities and what’s truly important at the end of the day.
Unfortunately – and fortunately, to a degree – Jason and his family found themselves in a situation that no family ever hopes to experience. With the power of gratitude, they allowed this adversity to reorient their priorities and amplify the gifts present in their lives. Bringing forth an even more meaningful life.
Jason and I discuss...
→ Cultivating your own destiny.
→ Using times of crisis as opportunities to reprioritize.
→ The importance of micro check-ins with self throughout the day.
→ Meeting adversity with acceptance and gratitude.
→ How Jason keeps his intimate relationship alive amidst their parenting roles.
→ His latest endeavor – NCFit app; simple, effort-based daily and on-demand workouts.

62. Life-Altering Experience: Londolozi Game Reserve | Peyton Callahan, Lyndsay Cochran, Maureen Staloch
lundi 28 juin 2021 • Duration 01:54:14
Honored to host these three ladies fresh off of their 7 day immersion at Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa. If you’ve been listening, you’ll recognize this game reserve as Boyd Varty’s home base – a 3-time guest on TGU ;)
It’s not every day that we’re presented with an opportunity, or even desire, to submerge oneself in the South African bush, but something pinged each of them in a way that was impossible to ignore. In this conversation, they each share their stories of receiving and answering their heart’s call, witnessing their untrue “stories” dissipate in front of them, experiencing pure bliss as a result of surrendering, and the many unexpected lessons that the people, animals, and land of Londolozi gifted them with.
Some wisdom that we dive into includes…
→ The process of answering our heart’s call; the doubt, excitement, resistance.
→ What the Londolozi animals and land awoke within each of them.
→ The power of presence and stillness, invoking immense wisdom.
→ Learning how to follow our life’s next track.
→ Surrendering to the unknown.
→ What’s on the other side of saying yes?

61. Adam Roa | Love Is Our Expander
jeudi 17 juin 2021 • Duration 02:11:52
We don’t expand ourselves, LOVE expands us.
So excited to share Adam Roa’s medicine on TGU today. Humans are in a constant state of expansion; every choice we make affects who we are becoming. Adam shares his journey to self-love and his life-altering awakening at 18 years old that presented him with either an opportunity to evolve or to remain in the cycle of chasing adequacy. Something I resonate deeply with. Amongst sharing his own journey, Adam holds space for me to share a few of my current unlearnings; specifically in my intimate relationship.
Adam and I explore...
→ How to embody acceptance without condoning.
→ Universal agreement vs universal acceptance.
→ My current workaround my intimate relationship; hint, disappointment in Self.
→ Shaving time off from our mile of “awareness."
→ Bridging the polarities of the masculine and feminine in relationships.
→ The clouded achievement mindset.

60. Justin Donald | Investing in Your Financial Freedom
jeudi 10 juin 2021 • Duration 01:06:03
Many of you may know that for 20 years I spent much of my time on the Chicago trading floor and my love for investing has been a constant ever since. I don’t find too many opportune moments to dive into this passion on TGU, so this conversation was certainly a fun one to finally have on the show. Among his many investment tips and tricks, Justin is keen on the importance of “family man first, businessman second”. He wrote his book (see below) as a legacy piece; a memoir of investment tips that he wanted to pass down to my daughter. I mean, how awesome is this?!
Justin and I explore...
→ The importance of reclaiming control over your financial future.
→ What is Front Row Dads?
→ Creating clarity around what you DO want vs what you DON’T want.
→ The myths and misconceptions of why you’re not capable of investing.
→ Justin’s “Murphy’s Laws” of Investing.
→ And much more!

You may be familiar with today’s guest from a couple weeks back as we co-hosted episode 56 together. Josh Trent joins us again and this time, he’s fresh off of a 10 day vision quest, deep in the Idaho wilderness; with a hefty supply list of 4 gallons of water, sleeping bag and toilet paper. Among the immense wisdom that Josh shares with us, he unravels an incredibly intimate experience that healed years of shame and guilt.
Josh and I dive into…
→ Overindulging as a temporary way to feel “safe”.
→ The guilt & shame cycle.
→ Navigating from a trauma bond to a loving bond.

58. Mikki Willis | Choosing Love for Our Freedom, Our People, and Our Health
mercredi 26 mai 2021 • Duration 01:41:02
If you’ve been listening along, you’ve likely heard me highly recommend one of Mikki's masterpieces, Plandemic: Indoctornation, where he and his team of incredible researchers seek out the truth within all of the misleading information these days.
Mikki’s here today to share his personal story of waking up to the harmful false narratives that surround us and what's inspired him to share all that he has discovered so far; risking it all due to his love for freedom, people, and health.
In this insightful conversation with Mikki, we explore...
→ The personal losses that encouraged Mikki to take a deeper look at what lies before us.
→ The effects of our population living in a state of fear.
→ How cognitive dissonance is the real concern.
→ How the constant fear-inducing narratives limit one's capacity for critical thinking.
→ Ways that our morality and language are being weaponized.

Today I’m thrilled to have my brother, Adrian Grenier, on the pod today as he takes us through the many reincarnations of his life so far.
