ABOUT DR. ALEXANDRA ADLER
Dr. Alexandra Adler is a board-certified pain management specialist and anesthesiologist. She graduated from Yale University in 2007 Magna Cum Laude with distinction with Phi Beta Kappa honors. She was awarded a Gates Cambridge Fellowship and studied at the University of Cambridge from 2007-2008, graduating with a Master of Philosophy in Biological Sciences. She then returned to Yale School of Medicine to complete her medical degree. She did her residency training in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and continued on at MGH for a fellowship in chronic pain that emphasized a multidisciplinary approach to pain. She joined the Pain Center team in 2020 and became a partner in 2023.
Dr. Adler splits her time between Lowell General Hospital and the Pain Center. Her goal is to provide exceptional, comprehensive care to a wide variety of patients experiencing both acute and chronic pain. She enjoys working in a community practice while maintaining an interest in research and patient education. Her particular interests include pelvic pain, peripheral nerve pain, chronic back pain and non-medication options for managing and treating pain. She recently contributed to a pelvic pain guide for patients.

Drawing from her own experience of transformation from being a burnout physician to regaining, designing, and retaining control of her physician life, Dr. Myrdalis Díaz-Ramírez created the maxAllure Mastermind. It is now her passion to help physicians who feel overwhelmed and lost in medicine to find a new path and control their lives through entrepreneurship. She is a self-made entrepreneur with experience in owning different clinics which she successfully sold in the past. Most recently, she has partnered with a group of female physicians to create the SahaVida Institute, a wellness center in Sarasota, FL, where she treats her patients. She has found in Functional Medicine the bridge between conventional and alternative medicine. Besides having owned other businesses, Dr. Myrdalis Díaz-Ramírez is a dual Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and Interventional Pain Management Physician. An estimated 85% of all type 1 diagnoses take place in people aged under 20 years.Treatment involves lifelong insulin use and blood sugar monitoring, as well as diet and exercise management, to help keep blood sugar levels within the target range.
Diet plays role in the gut microbiome. In addition, a new diagnosis cause trauma. This episode is about how to manage diabetes, learn about gut microbiome, how to deal with emotional, physical, and financial trauma at the time of the diagnosis.
Dr. Heba Ismail is a double-board certified Pediatrician and Pediatric Endocrinologist and a researcher at Indiana University. She helps patients with diabetes in her practice and studies type 1 diabetes and the microbiome. She runs several clinical trials to improve diabetes management as well as to prevent disease development. She is also a health education blogger, and the name of her blog is eatyourgreenbananas.com.
