The Summer of 2015 at 10 with Scott Mendelson & Aaron Neuwirth: June 12-14, 2015

lundi 9 juin 2025Duration 01:56:49

The Summer of 2015 at 10 is a weekly retrospective journey through American pop culture during May, June, July and August of 2015. Brandon Peters, Puck News and The Outside Scoop’s Scott Mendelson and We Live Entertainment/2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla/Out Now with Aaron and Abe’s Aaron Neuwirth take a weekend by weekend look at the films released during the summer as well as the news stories, television and music that rounded out the public’s lives as they lined the pockets of the box office to see these movies.

May June 12-14, 2015: The biggest movie of the summer is here! Yes, like Summer of 93, the dinos are back with Jurassic World. We also have 3 smaller films of varying degrees of genre and quality to go over as well: Set Fire to the Stars, Madame Bovary, and Me And Earl And The Dying Girl.

We’ll also be discussing the box office report, notable news stories, the top 10 Nielsen rated tv programs for the week and the top 10 of Ryan Seacrest’s weekly American top 40 from the week these films were released.

Farewell DCEU Part One with Scott Mendelson

lundi 27 novembre 2023Duration 01:52:50

Following the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, it is believed we will be seeing a reset in the land of DC Comics turned movies under the new regime of James Gunn and Peter Safran. In this retrospective, Scott Mendelson and I (along with some guests) will be taking a look back at the films that made up the run, dubbed “DCEU” by many, starting with Man of Steel back in 2013.

Our first installment is the origin of the films. In the year following the conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, we start afresh with Zack Snyder and Man of Steel. This episode looks at that one and a few of its follow ups in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman. The films that made up the era in which Zack Snyder was clearly a presence.

The Brandon Peters Show will return Monday (12/4) with Part Two of Farewell DCEU (Justice League theatrical, Aquaman, Shazam!, Birds of Prey) and special guest Molly Henery

60 Years Of Doctor Who: Part Three – Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, Twelfth and Thirteenth Doctors with Russell McGee

mercredi 22 novembre 2023Duration 58:12

“An Unearthly Child”, the first episode of Doctor Who broadcast on the BBC 6o years ago this week. Being as the show means so much to me, I definitely wasn’t going to let this week or month go without doing SOMETHING for it. Rather than trying to outdo other podcasts or overthink things, I decided to go with something more relaxing and simple.

I welcome back Russell McGee of Big Fish and he and I go Doctor to Doctor, staring with William Hartnell and share our 3 favorite stories from each. Hear our passion and what within the 60 years keeps us going and how our tastes with the show pan out across time and space.

The concluding part of our journey sees us discussing the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) and the entirety of the Modern series – Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker

Products of the Panic: Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995) with Troy Brownfield

lundi 6 novembre 2023Duration 01:31:33

Products of the Panic is already back. This time, Troy and I discuss one that has been mentioned a few times, INDICTMENT: THE MCMARTIN TRIAL. This is an Emmy Award winning television movie that HBO produced back in 1995 starring James Woods, Mercedes Ruehl and Henry Thomas.

The film takes a look at one of the longest, most insane trials in our United States history. All based on fabrications and originated from a disturbed and mentally troubled individual. Despite clear evidence, the trial kept moving on. Satanism was at the blame out of nowhere and it fractured the lives of the innocent.

Our other horror retrospective for this October season is Night of the Demons. Last year Jessica mentioned being a huge fan of the first two movies and I lit up. This has been a year waiting in the wings and it’s here now.

Jessica, Greg and I go through this playful, horny and gory series. One entry even has Greg angry and down on a movie like you’ve never seen here before. Enjoy and have a safe trick or treat day tomorrow!

Rob Zombie’s Firefly Trilogy with Jessica Alsman & Greg McGoon

lundi 23 octobre 2023Duration 02:24:03

Jessica and Greg join me once again for another horror retrospective. This spooky season I’m going with some of their favorites. We start with Greg who loves The Devil’s Rejects and Rob Zombie’s Firefly Trilogy it is a part of that also includes House of 1000 Corpses and 3 From Hell.

We dive deep and we go long. This is a fun filled discussion and really looks at Zombie’s talents and what works so well with these vile characters that has us all coming back for more with them.
