Life has been full of ups and downs for Dan Henk. Currently, he has three books and two chapbooks out, he does illustration work for magazines, books, clothing companies, comics, and bands, and owns a tattoo shop in NY. Along the way, he made it through brain cancer, a knife fight with a crackhead, car crashes, and his wife dying in a hit and run. But in spite of this, he looks at the glass as half full and tries to push through whatever the latest obstacle is.
Dan moved to NYC on his old motorcycle and a backpack that contained everything he owned with a dream to achieve something big through his passion for doing arts. To become successful, he overcame all possible hardships while living in NYC, including working in a restaurant and surviving brain cancer. Today Dan shares his story of how he achieved his goal and the lessons he learned along the way.
