Ian is back from Greenville and with Chris still abroad, he is joined by Editor-In-Chief Mike Andrews, to discuss his trip with the help of questions gathered from twitter. They start off discussing why Greenville is such a great place to visit and Ian’s scouting process. From there they jump right into discussing the players Ian saw, starting with Miguel Bleis and why even with his struggles, there are still things to like. After that, they discussed the very deep pitching staff, specifically what Ian saw with Hayden Mullins, Yodanny Monegro, Elmer Rodriguez, Blake Wehunt. Next, Ian talked about what he saw offensively from Mikey Romero and the recent draftees, Zach Erhard, Will Turner and Hudson White. Finally, they wrapped up with a brief discussion of Justin Riemer and a few more names who stood out.

A rankings shake-up

Although the big three remained in place at the top of the SP60 rankings in our June update (a surprise to some of you, apparently), nothing else remained sacred in our list of the top prospects in the system! Chris and Ian talked about Luis Perales' jump to number 4, Kristian Campbell's arrival in the top 10, Matthew Lugo's huge jump and Ovis Portes' stunning debut in the top 30. Plus yet another set of injuries at the MLB level and some more promotions!

The Red Sox dropped game 5 of the ALCS minutes before Chris and Ian got on the line, but it's not all doom and gloom on this episode. As the Red Sox head to Houston for the end of the series, where do things stand? Chris and Ian broke down what has and has not worked thus far for Boston. Meanwhile, the Arizona Fall League is making its triumphant return after a one-year layoff, and while Triston Casas has two home runs in the season's first week, he's not the biggest Red Sox story from Scottsdale. It's playoff time and the Red Sox have one win in the books!
