#200 Steve Guest – Elite recruitment specialist and bestselling author of 'Top Biller'

Episode 200

lundi 28 novembre 2022Duration 44:38

Today we spoke with Steve Guest – Elite recruitment specialist and author of 'Top Biller'

Steve has been recruiting for 17 years. He has placed over 800 individuals into permanent roles in the UK. Podcast host of 'The Guestlist with Steve Guest', Amazon best-selling author across multiple categories for “Top Biller – The Life of a Recruiter” (globally the highest reviewed recruitment book on Amazon), and founder of the online recruitment training platform - “12 Week Recruitment Mastery Programme” – training recruiters on a global scale, Steve is still recruiting (the doing), but also now mentoring, coaching and teaching.

We ask when did Steve realise he could do this, and what attributes he sees in his kids that could make them recruiters too! Steve talks about the importance of being early for everything, what separates successful recruiters (such as organisation, consistency, integrity, and honesty) and what pushed him into driving his book sales. Steve knows his why, and he embraces sharing his journey and giving value now.

How fitting Steve was guest #200 for SEPR...going for 3 years and 7 months, since May 2019. Now it's time for a pause to consolidate our learning.

#97 with David Carey – Pro Irish golfer who scored a history-making record low score 57 on the PGA Tour, and member of Team Ireland Golf

lundi 7 décembre 2020Duration 37:28

Today we spoke with David Carey – Pro Irish golfer who scored a history-making record low score 57 on the PGA Tour, and member of Team Ireland Golf.

Ireland has just come out of lockdown. Irish golf courses are open again, weather permitting. We felt it was fitting to release this episode now - with a young golfer who we will be keeping a close eye on in the future. David has his mind set on winning multiple majors!

In today's conversation we speak about training, preparation, golfers' mindset, swing speed, distance and other technical pieces to the game. It's fascinating to hear David talk about practice versus match play, and who he admires on the pro circuit...and why. Of course we dig into the story of when David shot 57 on the tour and what that felt like.

In golf we lose more than we win, even Tiger - control what you can control. This comes through profoundly in this dialogue. Enjoy it, and thanks for speaking with us David.

Special mention to a close friend Padraig Lynch - host of the excellent PaddyTalks Golf Podcast - borrowed one of your questions!
