We first had Ron Hedley on Silver Stumps on episode 6 - March 15th 2024. 

At that point Ron had raised an incredible £32000 for the Bob Willis Prostate Cancer Awareness Fund 

Ron told us that six months later the fundraising walks would finish on his 75th birthday - September 15th 2024 - at Lords 

Well over a year later from that proposed finish the awareness and fundraising continues and Ron has just returned from an amazing cricket tour of the Vatican

We catch up with Ron and discover he’s just as enthusiastic and energised as he was when we first met. Probably more so!

I had the pleasure of hosting Tony and Tracy Panecasio in Truro for a couple of days before they headed home at the conclusion of the Grey Ashes tour. 

We took the opportunity to record an episode in which they reflect on the tour and recall some of the best non-cricketing bits including the places they've visited, the socials they've enjoyed and the people they've met.

Tracy also shares what it is like to be a WAG (Wives and Girlfriends) on tour - particularly when not knowing prior to the tour any of the other WAG's.

Tony played in every one of the five ODIs but also was the chief media correspondent for the tour, whilst Tracy took hundreds if not thousands of photographs so during their time here in Truro I encouraged them to turn it all into a book because a tour like this needs a book!

It's yet another packed episode where we cover all the O60s and O70s county games, we review England and England Lions v the USA, what happened in the South West O65s 2 day 2 innings match in Bath and we've got O60s/O70s Vice-President Roland Butcher on. 

Trevor recorded as short seven minute piece with Roland during the third England versus Australia ODI at Thame on July 18th.

For many of the 60s divisions this was a week off between the end of the group matches and the start of the knockout stages, with the exception of two Bowl prelim matches in Div 1 and the usual league matches in Div 4. 

In the O70s Div 1 it was the final week of league matches with Div 2 and Div 3 as normal.

An international double header for you!

First up USA O60s captain for the tour of England Ravi Suri and then England Lions manager Paul Gelder. 

We caught up with Ravi on Zoom a week before the tour whist Trevor caught up with Paul at the recent Lions match at Apperley. 

The USA play six matches starting on Wednesday August 6th - 3 against the England ODI team and 3 against the England Lions - all packed into just nine days.

The fifth and final match in the Grey Ashes series ended in a last ball tie! The series thus finishes 2-2 which means Australia retain the Grey Ashes. 

England batted first for the first time in the series and made 269. Then it rained, for a long time. Finally the Australian innings got underway with a DLS target of 194 in 26 overs. 

At 7/2 the Aussies were in trouble but man of the series Darren Smith, who had cancelled his flight home because of the rain delay, strode in and made 97. 

It came down to 7 needed off the last over and Kev Watson took wickets with the first two balls. 3 were needed off the ball and two made - so a tie! 

Plus we round up all the matches played across the O70s 3 Divisions on Thursday July 24th and we catch up with Ron Hedley.
