Episode 401

samedi 24 aoĆ»t 2024 • Duration 21:17

If your Salon hits a growth ceiling… It's because of you! Clients are coming in, your team is busy, you’re finally profitable but you’re not sure if you should jump and recruit a new team member before you need it. If you recruit team members too early, your growth might slow down and suddenly you can’t afford to pay them OR you recruit too late and your team feels overwhelmed and overworked… whilst trying to train someone new. It takes 3 months to recruit and train someone… So, in a perfect world, you would recruit someone 3 months before you need them. And I know what you’re thinking… ā€œLarissa, I can’t see the future!ā€. But actually, you can… sort of. Your numbers will always tell you what to do.Ā  If you’re wanting to grow in 2024 and beyond, you need to be 3 steps (or 3 months ahead).Ā  I’m sharing a recruitment roadblock that an owner in the Salon Mastery Program overcame before she went away on holiday for 3 weeks! This is: When Is the Right Time to Hire a New Team Member? Ā  Here is why you should listen to the full episode:
  1. Learn when to identify growth
  2. Understand why your need to be a mentorĀ

How to Master the Salon Sprint

Episode 392

samedi 22 juin 2024 • Duration 29:28

Have you ever tried sprinting on a treadmill?

Now, not just any treadmill… one where you’re sprinting but can’t slow down or stop? I know what you're thinking,ā€Larissa, there’s no way that is happeningā€. But, the truth is, whilst you may not be physically sprinting on a treadmill non-stop, there’s another treadmill you’re sprinting on right now. The treadmill of a Salon Owner!Ā

I’m talking long hours, seven days a week, struggling to fit in time with your family (let alone your friends) and you haven’t had ā€˜me’ time in what feels like forever! It’s exhausting, just like running on a treadmill.

Running yourself to exhaustion can lead you to feel constantly tired and unmotivated. The treadmill of a Salon Owner can have a serious impact on your Mental Fitness if you’re not slowing down every now and then.Ā

I wanted to share with you the key to managing your Mental Fitness so that you can be a better mum, wife, friend and Salon Owner.Ā

In today’s episode, I’m chatting to Natalie Tua from The Strengths Shed about How to Master the Salon Sprint.Ā

Here is why you should listen to the full episode:

  1. Learn the meaning of Mental Fitness
  2. Understand why it’s important to check in with your Mental Fitness
  3. Know how to destress and mater the Salon sprint.Ā

What do you want your Salon to be known for? Ā Why should a client choose your Salon over the one down the road? Ā  These are the questions you need to ask yourself if you want to stand out from the rest and ensure clients choose YOU and always return… After all, we all BASICALLY offer the same thing, right?! Ā  Thinking back to my early Salon days, I remember sometimes feeling like I had to do all the things and serve all the clients to ensure they had nothing short of the best experience.,After all, I had 7 salons within walking distance, so I felt like I needed to take what I could get…those clients were valuable, right! I would spend my days putting out fires, taking on extra clients, and doing the absolute most to ensure everyone in the room was happy. Ā  But then I realised, this isn’t sustainable. It was exhausting, overwhelming, and funnily enough, didn’t bring more clients through the door… Janine Jarman aka the Queen of Perms, is the founder of Curl Cult, a product that has changed the technology and science behind perms. This means her service and Salon itself, are irreplaceable.Ā  Janine is going to share with you her hot tips on how to make your Salon irreplaceable so that your clients always choose you over the one down the road. Ā  Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode:
  1. Discover why your clients are choosing the Salon down the road
  2. How to make your Salon irreplaceable
  3. Learn strategies to ensure clients always return

Work Less & Make More – Becoming a ā€œSmartā€ Salon CEO

Episode 300

mercredi 14 septembre 2022 • Duration 44:53

Have you ever felt like: You’re working yourself to the bone: You’re busier than ever with clients, plus managing an ever-evolving team...Ā  You’re hardly present with your family as work has taken over your brain space… but what makes it worse is you’re not growing. Ā  But still, you end up saying YES all the time:Ā
  • Like when a team member needs our help with something, we jump at the chance… because we don’t want to let them down
  • Or when a regular client wants to book with you when you’re ā€˜meant’ to be working ON the business (not in it)... you give in because you feel bad…

Ā  Or maybe you’re guilty of having shiny object syndrome…. Are you nodding your head right now? I know I’ve been guilty of this too… But this is a HUGE mistake.Ā  Ā  Because in reality, these are often the things that will halt forward momentum in our business.Ā  As a result, you take 2 steps forward, 2 back. Your business is at a constant plateau, and you get super frustrated because you’re BUSY doing ALL the things- so you start to wonder-- ā€˜why am I not growing?’ You get overwhelmed and burnt out… which leads to halting progress even more.Ā  Ā  Agh! It’s a vicious cycle. In this episode, I will take you through my secret formula to increasing sales by working less (for smart salon CEOs).Ā  Ā  If you’re overworking 30+ hours on the Salon floor, and want to create what I like to call ā€˜CEO discipline’, and have the time to move the needle in your business, then keep listening… Plus don’t forget to grab yourself a copy of the ā€œ4 Steps to Becoming a Smart Salon CEOā€Ā  strategy. Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode:
  1. HOW you can make your business catapult forward and into growth
  2. Discover how to actually have the CEO discipline to make the CEO time
  3. Learn how to stop saying yes all the time to your team & your clients to make CEO space in your day.

Does Increasing Your Prices Make You a Better Salon Owner?

Episode 299

mercredi 7 septembre 2022 • Duration 38:15

Does self-doubt stop you from increasing your salon’s prices? You know deep down you need to put your prices up, but the thought of asking your clients to spend more just feels so daunting.Ā  Ā  What if they push back? What if they leave and never come back because they can’t afford your services? How will you equip the team to handle these objections… when you feel nervous about it yourself? Honestly, if this is you, then know that you aren’t alone. I know this is a huge challenge for so many owners.Ā  Ā  But in reality, this holds Salon Owners back from success…and reaching their full potential. Instead of feeling confident about your experience and your Salon’s prices, you instead have this overwhelming urge to compare yourself to other Salons, to discount your services, to apologise before anything has even gone wrong, all due to the fact that you’re worried that if you don’t, that client will go elsewhere.Ā Ā  Ā  This is why I want to introduce Ruby Lee, a wealth & expense business coach helping business owners shift their mindset to ā€œI canā€ & ā€œI willā€ instead of being a roadblock to their own success.Ā  Ruby will share her strategies for getting comfortable with your numbers and profitability, so you can back yourself in moments when you may be doubting yourself or feeling insecure (because let’s face it, we all have these moments!) and continue to grow your million-dollar Salon. Ā  Discover the REAL reason why so many salon owners feel too scared to raise their prices, and how to combat this in your salon, once and for all. Uncover your true worth and potential as a business owner, so that you can feel confident with your decisions, and truly grow your profit to its full potential… Ā  Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode:
  1. Discover the real reason why so many Salon Owners don’t raise their prices
  2. How to overcome the fear of putting up your prices in your Salon
  3. Learn how uncover your true worth & potential as a business owner
