Podbean
The podcast that loves to hate running. While other podcasts will celebrate your journey, encourage you to go faster and further, and run free, we’d rather talk about bleeding nipples, getting chased by horses and getting horribly injured. Keep it real with Stewart and Amy.

#138 - Night Marathons are Bullshit

Episode 138

lundi 19 août 2024Duration 01:11:59

GB Olympian Stewart Harding shares his story of running at the Olympics and completing the Olympic marathon unlike the so-called 'greatest marathon runner ever'.

Amy heads back to the middle boring bit of England, which has apparently got a lot nicer recently even if she inadvertently chased away all the local wildlife. There is also a long story about trying not to poo.

Finally, and we can't emphasise this enough, do not enrage the sparrowhawk.

#137 - Strava Jockeys are Bullshit

Episode 137

lundi 29 juillet 2024Duration 59:24

Huge BS merch news if you like your neck tubes to be multi-functional!

We've had medals, we now have coasters, we ask what's next? We've got a complex story from Race to the Stones, mourn the passing of some trail running companies and add loads of great entries onto the injury list, as well as the 'definitely not injured' list.

#128 - February is Bullshit

Episode 128

lundi 4 mars 2024Duration 55:24

We come in hot this week with some more takes on runfluencers and social media, as well as a few rants about running for charity. Which sounds a bit risky doesn't it? Oh well, we've had a good run, bye everyone...

Amy nearly dies in a river, and dodges the snow. Stu's whole life is just mud.

#39 - Cross-training is Bullshit

Episode 39

lundi 18 mai 2020Duration 01:04:45

The only thing worse than running is not running, right? In this episode we delve in the murky world of cross-training, and why pretty much all of it is bullshit.

Speaking of not running, we both share non-running related injury stories and Amy continues her bid to become an inspirational speaker.

#38 - Touching Your Face is Bullshit

Episode 38

lundi 4 mai 2020Duration 53:41

While we're still allowed to run, we'll still complain about it. We read out your running confessions, and will happily keep taking them on an ongoing basis because we know you're all terrible running sinners, and we can forgive you.

We explain why you won't be seeing a BS face mask, get the lowdown on the Ross Barkley 5k, and tell fat-shaming advertisers to fuck the fuck off.

Features an appearance from everyone's favourite corgi.

#37 - Running in your Garden is Bullshit feat. Gareth Allen

Episode 37

lundi 20 avril 2020Duration 56:13

Providing a mild distraction from your lockdown, Running is BS delves into the bizarre world of the garden marathon, running up Everest in your house and other weird things desperate runners are doing to stay occupied and get their distance in.

Has Amy been running? You may be pleasantly surprised. And Stu urges you to stop running up and down the same parks, canal paths, and streets and go and do a bit of exploring!

Our guest this week is Gareth Allen, an ultra runner who live streamed his garden marathon to a worldwide audience!

#36 - Q&As are Bullshit

Episode 36

lundi 6 avril 2020Duration 01:00:41

What do you do when there's no running to talk about? Talk about yourself! Thanks to all our listeners who sent in questions for us, we had a great time going through them and offering our complete lack of expertise as answers.

We manage to squeeze in a bit of bullshit running news, and have now both adopted the Genders Studio™ method which is effective but doesn't half make your head a bit hot.

#35 - Showers are Bullshit

Episode 35

lundi 23 mars 2020Duration 48:18

Amy massively overreacts to a single comment about her audio and has taken a drastic solution to improve the ‘studio’.   We inevitably drop the C-bomb as the world of running is now dominated by the reaction to COVID-19 and its impacts, as well as post-run showers, brambles, fancy teas, and fell races that haven’t been cancelled.   We also ask very important questions such as “Would you wear a manbra” and “Is it ok to just go and run a strava segment?”… See more

#34 - Coronavirus is Bullshit feat. Liz Ayres & Howard Owen

Episode 34

lundi 9 mars 2020Duration 51:23

A last minute stand in for Amy sees SBC rock the mic with Stewart for this episode full of all kinds of running bullshit.

There's sweary banter galore with chafing, race cancellations, filthy puns, and making noises at gross out comments.

We have bonus double guestage with London Marathon pacer Liz Ayres giving us a rundown of the changes being made to this year's race and Howard Owen's review of his, understandably, slowest ever marathon in Siberia.

#33 - High Jump is Bullshit feat. Sharon Heveran

Episode 33

mercredi 26 février 2020Duration 01:05:55

Stewart and Amy (and a yappy Corgi) take on the biggest and most important topics in running (probably) in yet another episode of the podcast that loves to hate running.

We talk about being ill, boobs, race tshirts, and speak to a former international high jumper and coach who only bloody went to the Olympics, Sharon Heveran.
