Celia tries to comfort Rosalind when Orlando doesn’t show up at the cottage for his first coaching. Corin arrives to invite them to spy on Silvius courting the reluctant Phebe. Rosalind, still dressed as Johnnyseed, follows and confronts Phebe when she sees how poorly she treats Silvius, but it backfires when Phebe falls for her instead. Rosalind beats a hasty retreat with Celia. Phebe tells Silvius she’s going to write “Johnnyseed” a love letter for him to deliver. Back in the forest, Rosalind teases Jacques about his melancholy until Orlando finally arrives. Jacques leaves and Rosalind (Johnnyseed) berates Orlando for being late to his tutoring session. Johnnyseed (Rosalind) convinces Celia to stage a fake wedding between Johnnyseed and Orlando in order to make Rosalind jealous. Orlando isn’t sure about this and leaves to have dinner with Duke Senior. Celia scolds Rosalind for misrepresenting women, but Rosalind can only respond that she’s fallen deeply in love.

Season 15 · Episode 4
Monday, August 26, 2024 • Duration 28:39
Celia tells Rosalind that Orlando is the poet whose writing has so delighted them. When they hear Orlando approaching in argument with Jacques about love, they hide to eavesdrop. Once Jacques leaves, Rosalind steps out and introduces herself as “Johnnyseed”. She promises to cure Orlando of his lovesickness provided he agrees to pretend that she’s Rosalind and comes every day to practice wooing him. Orlando happily agrees. Back at the concert, Touchstone and Audrey make their way through the crowd with her goats, trailed by Jacques. Audrey tries to keep up with Touchstone’s wit until they come across Sir Oliver Martext, who Touchstone asks to marry them. Sir Oliver says he can’t marry Audrey to Touchstone until she’s “given away”. Jacques emerges and offers to give Audrey away, but not until he has a word in private with Touchstone.

Season 14 · Episode 5

He rejects the meals they’ve made and treats them so poorly that Kate implores him to be more patient. Petruchio insists they go straight to bed, where he lectures her on the virtues of abstinence. Meanwhile, as Tranio keeps up his Lucentio impersonation, Hortensio drops his “Litio '' persona and laments Bianca’s affection for Cambio (the real Lucentio). Together, they renounce Bianca and Hortensio declares that he’ll seek the affections of a wealthy widow. Free of Hortensio, Tranio celebrates with Bianca and Lucentio until Biondello arrives with the news that he’s found a drunk Pedant who will be the perfect person to impersonate Luentio’s father, Vincenzio. Tranio and Lucentio work up a plan to fool the Pedant into believing he’s in danger in Padua because he’s from Mantua but that he’ll be safe if he pretends to be Lucentio’s father.

The Winter's Tale - Episode 5 - Too Wild For Stay-At-Homes
Season 9 · Episode 5
Friday, January 20, 2023 • Duration 30:45
As Perdita prepares for the sheep shearing feast, Florizel flirts with her and vows he’ll stay with her no matter what. Perdita is less carefree, fearing the repercussions that will come if the king discovers his son has been cavorting with someone beneath his station. Perdita’s father, the Old Shepherd, arrives and tells his daughter to greet their guests, including two strangers (Polixenes and Camillo, disguised as farmers), who banter with her about the flowers she admires. Florizel and Perdita proclaim their love for each other as the guests applaud and dance. Polixenes (in disguise) questions the Old Shepherd about the young man who’s wooing his daughter as two shepherdesses, Mopsa and Dorcas, squabble over the affections of the Shepherd’s son. A servant rushes in to announce the arrival of a peddler (Autolycus), who enters with a song. He wins over the crowd with his music and exotic wares as he secretly conspires to rob everyone at the party. The servant returns to announce the arrival of a group of acrobats she calls “hairy goat men”, who enter with a cacophony of shouts and drums.

In Part Two of his interview, Nat Cassidy explains why the “rape room” got cut, why horror exists, why writing a script is forty-seven thousand times easier than writing a novel, why actors should celebrate the audition even if they don’t get the job, why Open Source Shakespeare is the adapters’ best friend, and why the elitism and classism of rehearsal rooms drove him from pursuing a career as a classical actor. Plus, a special easter egg for all you logophiles: listen for the word stichomythia in action!
