PARENTS’ RIGHTS IN EDUCATION
We represent millions of voices standing up for families, united for natural parents’ rights in the K-12 education system.

Local control, where school boards set policies honoring all students, and families must be restored.

We reject any indoctrination of school children with extreme pedagogy.

We support the proper role of K-12 academic education, focused on core skills, and preparing students for success. We reject controversial sexualization and racist doctrine.

We reject current practice by public school staff facilitating mental health counseling, medical treatment and procedures without parent knowledge, circumventing the relationship between parents and children.

We are here to provide parents tools, so they can stand against those stealing their rights. Stand with us!

Summery / Comments:

In this episode, the focus is on a united effort to protect children's education while highlighting the critical role parents play. Parents are encouraged to access free tools, training, and community support available on parentsrightsandeducation.com, and to help boost the cause by leaving a five-star review.

Host Suzanne Gallagher shares news of forthcoming events, including interactive speaking sessions and Zoom meetings tailored for parents. With the "back to school" season in mind, she emphasizes the importance of having "pre affiliates" in every school district to ensure parents have local points of contact and support. The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) is discussed in depth. It's a tool that allows parents to keep tabs on the curriculum, selectively opt out of activities, and secure their child’s privacy. Suzanne underscores the importance of parental intervention in curriculum choices and survey decisions to safeguard children's personal boundaries.

A significant part of the episode also covers the hot topics of vaccine mandates and mask requirements in schools. Suzanne stresses that parents have the right to file exemption forms for their children and calls upon parents to challenge mandates that contradict their beliefs. She also speaks about the potential adverse effects of continuous mask-wearing on children's physical and emotional health.

Later in the episode, listeners are treated to an insightful chat with Kirryn Jensen, a hopeful school board candidate from Washington State. She explains her reasons for running, particularly her concerns about bullying, violence, and ensuring a safe environment in schools. Kirryn also emphasizes the need for clear communication between school boards and communities and the necessity for accountability.

The episode concludes with a rousing call to action, urging listeners to join the movement and vocalize their concerns. The end goal? To solidify parents' rights and ensure a safe, nurturing learning atmosphere for every child. This episode is tailored to resonate with parents with a conservative perspective and a 10th-grade education level.

What is CRT? Guest: Allen Sarvians, Maine Affiliate

Season 3 · Episode 201

samedi 26 août 2023Duration 32:45

Tell us whatcha' think! Send a text to us, here! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our podcast.

In this podcast episode, hosts Suzanne Gallgaher and Allen Sarvinas discuss recent legislative developments and local policies related to education in California and North Carolina. They address various bills and policies, focusing on issues like parents' rights, transgender and gender expansive policies, and informed consent for minors.

In California, they discuss Senate Bill 596, which passed in May and aims to address threats, assaults, and disrespectful behavior towards school employees. They emphasize the importance of respectful communication while also highlighting concerns about the broad language of the bill and its potential impact on parents' rights to communicate with school officials.

Moving on to North Carolina, they cover a bill that aimed to ban gender-affirming treatments for minors. The bill was initially vetoed by the governor but later overridden by the legislature. They mention the ongoing debate around this issue and the potential legal challenges from LGBTQ rights advocates.

The conversation shifts to a local policy in Maine that deals with transgender and gender expansive students. They highlight the expansion of privileged communications, allowing teachers and others to keep secrets from parents. They discuss the importance of parents' rights and due process, and they urge parents to get involved with their school boards to protect these rights.

Throughout the episode, they stress the need for parents and concerned citizens to engage with their local school boards, communicate their viewpoints, and rally for parents' rights. They also emphasize the significance of having a grassroots support group like Parents' Rights in Education to advocate for parental involvement and push back against policies that could undermine parents' rights.

The episode concludes with a call to action for listeners to reach out to their school boards, engage in local advocacy, and stand up for parents' rights in education.

MAINE Policy ACAAA, Transgender and Gender Expansive Students:

Cited in Maine lawsuit Goldwater/Lavigne v Great Bay School District after a student was provided a chest suppression device (CHEST BINDER) w/o parental consent.

The unconstitutional policy violates parent’s fundamental right to guide the upbringing of their child. Last week, the district’s board attorneys provided legal opinion stating the policy does not address parental notification, while providing sample verbiage to roll into the policy. The District Superintendent is not a judge, and parents require due process.

Maine PRE demands full application of parents’ fundamental rights, evidence of actual and substantive risk to the child by notifying the parents, at which point mandatory reporting applies.

Parent’s Bill of Rights, Guest: Lisa Chaffee, Ohio Affiliate

Season 3 · Episode 199

samedi 12 août 2023Duration 19:45

Tell us whatcha' think! Send a text to us, here! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our podcast.

In this episode of the Parents Rights Podcast, Suzanne Gallgaher provides updates on upcoming events, such as The Great Northwest Awakening and regular Zoom meetings. The episode delves into legislation matters with two major bills under discussion:

  • Indiana's House Bill 1608, known as the "Education Matters Bill", which prohibits teaching K-3 students about human sexuality and requires teachers to notify parents if a child wishes to be referred by a different name or pronoun. There was also an unsuccessful motion to get a preliminary injunction regarding how human sexuality is taught.
  • Ohio's House Bill 8, known as the "Parents' Bill of Rights". This bill mandates schools to provide parents with information regarding their child's mental, emotional, or physical health. It also compels schools to inform parents prior to teaching sexuality content. A detailed discussion of this bill highlights the importance of definition in legislation, especially in terms of what "sexuality content" encompasses.

Suzanne also talks about organizational growth, urging listeners to become members and join or create local affiliate groups. She emphasizes the need for greater transparency between schools and parents, especially regarding students' well-being.

The episode features Lisa Chaffee, an affiliate from Ohio, who shares her journey with Parents' Rights in Education and her role in pushing forward Ohio's House Bill 8. Lisa's testimonies, activism, and insights are highlighted, giving a real-life example of a parent's influence on legislation. The conversation underscores the significance of parental involvement, understanding legal frameworks, and making sure educational entities prioritize parental rights.

Empowering Parents: Unveiling Legislation Changes and Decoding Comprehensive Sexual Education

Season 3 · Episode 198

samedi 5 août 2023Duration 19:44

Tell us whatcha' think! Send a text to us, here! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our podcast.

Welcome to another episode of Parents' Rights in Education with your host, Suzanne Gallagher.

In our first segment, we're touching base with the state of education around the country. Highlighted events include The Great Northwest Awakening and our regular Zoom calls and trainings - don't miss out! Visit our website for more details. We are also tracking critical legislation like Virginia's SB 1072, aiming to better address bullying, and Texas' controversial SB 14, which deals with youths' access to transgender medical treatment. In organizational updates, we've introduced a new feature to select your affiliate group and celebrate the addition of 5 new affiliate leaders in Oregon and Washington.

Returning to our second segment, we've got good news - our movement is making strides! In 2022, 85 parents’ rights bills were introduced across 26 states, while 2023 has already seen 62 bills in 24 states. All of these efforts aim to increase parental involvement and transparency in education. This shows we're making an impact and will continue fighting for parents’ rights.

In our final segment, we delve into a topic of much debate - Comprehensive Sexual Education. Promoted as an inclusive and age-appropriate approach, it is being seen by many as explicit and incentivizing early sexual activity. Organizations like Planned Parenthood, the WHO, and the ACLU are backing this. As an example, programs like EXCLAIM! suggest that young people need varied sexual experiences for their health. This raises concerns about parental involvement and when a child should learn about sexual activity.

As we wrap up, remember that joining our cause ensures you have a say in your child's education. Become a member today and join the fight for parents’ rights in education. Until next time, stay strong and engaged. Thank you for tuning in.

Civil Rights Claim Signals Overreach by Biden Admin

"As we have stated numerous times, removal of controversial offensive literature from school libraries is not only a right, but an obligation of school boards. Local boards are elected to represent the values of their constituents. They have the power to determine what curriculums are appropriate for their districts. It is not "banning" to select the most appropriate books for the minor children and families they serve. Parents are free to choose to purchase controversial materials for their children. Clearly, this is a blatant illegal move by the Biden administration to steal the rights of school boards to represent parents in their districts!"
