About Maaike:   
For Maaike, Photography is a form of communication, an outlet, an art form, a hobby and since March 2015 it became her full time job.   Maaike worked as a teacher speech therapist in special and regular education.

The core of Maaike's photography lies in the interaction between the photographer and the model. The feeling that comes up during each photoshoot is different. She approaches her models calmly, expectantly and intuitively. She perceives the subject’s state of mind by reading their eyes. “It really comes down to a form of mindfulness.  With her photography, she wants to give value to things that are important in life but are often taken for granted.

She had work with important clients such as  Rabobank, Greenpeace, BCO, Vtech, Nikon Netherlands and Sigma Benelux as brand ambassador.

About this Episode. 

Aimee defines herself as a food and photography lover, she’s a visual storyteller, recipe developer, book author based in south Devon - UK.   

As her signature style, Aimee prefers to use only natural light and organic textures.  In her early twenties Aimee struggled with food and weight, but finding her love for baking helped her get over her issues. She was very interested in crafting and interiors and that’s how she started as a visual creator.  

Contrasting what she’s doing now, Amy wanted to be a Zoo Keeper when she left school and studied for a Diploma in animal care and a Diploma in animal management.  

Aimee has 2 Published books:  
Love, Aimee X: 50 Beautiful Sweet Gifts for Friends and Family. It was released in 2015.
Teatime Treats: Deliciously tempting recipes for traditional food and drink to make, bake, share and give. This book was co-authored with Janet Hayward and it was published in 2016.

Aimee won 2 years consecutive The Pink Lady Food Photo Awards in the category Food Blogger 2019/2020.

Rami Ammoun is a Lebanese photographer based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. His original profession is a prosthodontist and he teaches full time at an academic institution in Richmond. His photography journey started in 2015 when he used a monetary award from his dental graduation to buy his first camera. His photography passion evolved to become mainly about the Moon and Space. He does most of his photography from his telescopes in his backyard.

In addition to photography, he produces short storytelling videos about his astrophotography which gained a lot of popularity on social media. He has numerous editorial contributions to magazines and well-known media companies like Adobe.
