Coulter Jacob's is a highly influential independent artist in Los Angeles who hasn't quit his day job. He's worked for the Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles for over 20 years, intentionally has no website, rarely takes commissions or sells his paintings. "I've just never wanted to live the life of a starving artist". He's a disciplined practitioner of the creative process who believes in the gift of mentorship (he was mentored by tattoo icon Bob Roberts) and now empathizes for his own mental health and sanity on a daily basis. This episode is nearly 3 hours in length, recorded at his home studio and creative laboratory in beautiful San Pedro, CA, where he lives a quiet life with his wife Taren and their bunny Silvio.

Clive and Jaymee discuss the craft of music production, the origins of the “second wave” of Ska in England, the art of creative partnership, what it was like living in Morrisey’s private world for 18 months creating Kill Uncle and Bona Drag, collaborating with David Bowie, and the time in 1973 Jaymee's mother Victoria flew to England to play Clive the new Beach Boys LP Surf's Up for the first time.
