Verse 1

וַיְדַבֵּר יְיָ' אֶל מֹשֶׁה לֵאמֹר. דַּבֵּר אֶל אַהֲרֹן וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו בְּהַעֲלוֹתְךָ אֶת הַנֵּרוֹת וְגוֹ,' רִבִּי יְהוּדָה פָּתַח, וְהוּא כְּחָתָן יוֹצֵא מֵחוּפָּתוֹ וְגוֹ.' זַכָּאָה חוּלָקֵיהוֹן דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, דְקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא אִתְרְעֵי בְּהוֹן, וְיָהַב לְהוֹן אוֹרַיְיתָא דִּקְשׁוֹט, אִילָנָא דְּחַיֵּי, דְּבֵיהּ בַּר נָשׁ יָרִית חַיִּין לְהַאי עָלְמָא, וְחַיִּין לְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי. דְּכָל מַאן דְּאִשְׁתְּדַל בְּאוֹרַיְיתָא וְאָחִיד בָּהּ, אִית לֵיהּ חַיִּין. וְכָל מַאן דְּשָׁבִיק מִלֵּי דְּאוֹרַיְיתָא, וְאִתְפְּרַשׁ מֵאוֹרַיְיתָא, כְּאִלּוּ מִתְפְּרַשׁ מֵחַיִּין, בְּגִין דְּהִיא חַיִּין, וְכָל מִלּוֹי חַיִּין, הה"ד כִּי חַיִּים הֵם וְגוֹ.' וּכְתִיב רִפְאוּת תְּהִי לְשָׁרֶךָ וְגוֹ.'

"And Hashem spoke to Moses, saying, 'Speak to Aaron, and say to him: When you kindle the lamps...'" (Bemidbar 8:1-2). Rabbi Yehuda opened the discussion saying, "which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber..." (Tehilim 19:6). Praised is the lot of Yisrael that the Holy One, blessed be He, favored them and granted them the Torah of Truth, a Tree of Life by which a person inherits life for this world and life for the World to Come. Whoever tries to learn Torah and holds to her has life. Whoever leaves the words of the Torah and separates from the Torah is as if he took leave of life, since she is life and all her words are life, as it is written, "for they are life..." (Mishlei 4:22), and, "I shall be health to your navel..." (Ibid. 3:8).

Verse 2

ת"ח, אִילָנָא דְּחַיֵּי, אָחִיד מֵעֵילָּא לְתַתָּא. וְהַאי שִׁמְשָׁא דְּנָהִיר לְכֹלָּא, נְהוֹרָא דִּילֵיהּ שָׁארִי מֵרֵישָׁא, וְאִתְפָשַּׁט בְּגוּפָא דְּאִילָנָא בְּאֹרַח מֵישָׁר, ב' סִטְרִין אֲחִידָן בֵּיהּ, חַד לַצָּפוֹן, וְחַד לַדָּרוֹם. חַד יְמִינָא, וְחַד שְׂמָאלָא. בְּשַׁעֲתָא דְּשִׁמְשָׁא נָהִיר כְּמָה דְּאִתְּמַר, מֵהַהוּא גּוּפָא דְּאִילָנָא, אַתְקִיף לִדְרוֹעָא דִּימִינָא, וְאַנְהִיר בְּתוּקְפֵּיהּ. וּמִתּוּקְפֵּיהּ נָהִיר שְׂמָאלָא, וְאִתְכְּלִיל בִּנְהוֹרֵיהּ.

Come and behold: the Tree of Life, WHICH IS ZEIR ANPIN, is attached from above downwards. The light of this sun, WHICH IS ZEIR ANPIN, that shines upon all, begins from the top, THAT IS, CHOCHMAH, BINAH AND DA'AT, and spreads to the trunk of the tree, WHICH IS TIFERET, in a straight path. Two sides are attached to it, one to the north and one to the south, one right, WHICH IS CHESED, and one left, WHICH IS GVURAH. When the sun illuminates from the trunk of the tree, as we have learned, it FIRST strengthens the right arm, WHICH IS CHESED, and shines with force. From that force OF THE RIGHT, the left illuminates, WHICH IS GVURAH, and is included in its light.

Verse 3

וְהוּא כְּחָתָן יוֹצֵא מֵחֻפָּתוֹ, מַאן אִיהוּ חֻפָּתוֹ. דָּא אִיהוּ עֲטָרָה שֶׁעִטְּרָה לּוֹ אִמּוֹ בְּיוֹם חֲתֻנָּתּוֹ. יוֹצֵא מֵחֻפָּתוֹ, דָּא אִיהוּ רֵישָׁא דְּכָל נְהוֹרָא כד"א בַּקְרָא דַּאֲבַּתְרֵיהּ, מִקְצֵה הַשָּׁמַיִם מוֹצָאוֹ, דָּא שֵׁירוּתָא דְּכֹלָּא, דְּאִקְרֵי מִקְצֵה הַשָּׁמַיִם. וּכְדֵין, נָפִיק כְּחָתָן מַמָּשׁ, כַּד נָפִיק לְאַעְרְעָא לְכַלָּתֵיהּ, רְחִימָתָא דְּנַפְשׁוֹי, וּפָרִישׂ דְּרוֹעוֹי, וּמְקַבֵּל לָהּ.

"Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber." HE ASKS: What is his chamber? HE RESPONDS: That is "the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding" (Shir Hashirim 3:11). THESE ARE THE MOCHIN - CHOCHMAH, BINAH AND DA'AT - THAT HE RECEIVED FROM HIS MOTHER, WHO IS BINAH. "...Coming out of his chamber..." that is the top of all the light, MEANING CHOCHMAH, BINAH AND DA'AT, as you say in the following scripture: "His going forth is from the end of the heaven" (Tehilim 19:7). This is the beginning of everything that is referred to as 'the end of the heaven,' MEANING BINAH, FROM WHICH EMERGES AND BEGINS ZEIR ANPIN, REFERRED TO AS 'HEAVENS.' Then he emerges. Like a real bridegroom when he goes out to meet his soul beloved bride, he stretches out his arms, WHICH ARE CHESED AND GVURAH, and receives her.

יד. העלאת עולם העשיה
אליהו, מפני שהוא כולל את הקדושה של עולם העשיה, הרי הוא סופג ברוחו את כל הנטיות הנדרשות לשכלולו של עולם זה, עד כדי הכשרתו אל ההרמוניה השלמה, אל העולמות שלמעלה. כשם שבתחלה לפני התבסמותו הכיר יותר מכל את עומק הכיעור והזיהום שעולם שפל זה שקוע בתוכו, ומפני כך קנא באש שלהבת לבער את רוח הטומאה והמחזיקים בו, כן יכיר אחרי ביסומו את כל ניצוץ קודש שבעולם זה, להעלותו ברוח שלום, וישיב לב אבות על בנים, ולב בנים על אבותם.

טו. גלוי אור החיים
המחשבה של הדבקות האלהית, כשהיא מתגברת באדם, היא פותחת לפניו פתחים של ציורי אורה, של אומץ העז של השפעת חיים לכל היקום. הולך הוא האדם ומתגדל אז בעזוז רצונו, רואה הוא אז, חש ומרגיש, איך שהוא ברצונו האדיר בהאדיריות האלהית, בהבהקת אור אמונת אלהים חיים, מפשט הוא אז רוח רצונו לכל היקום כולו, וכל החי ומתקיים, וכל ההוה ומצוי שואב הוא ויונק ממנו חפץ קדוש ואידיאלי, הנשגב בקודש. אחרי שהוחשפה מעלת גילוי אליהו בעמקי הנשמה, מתראה אור החיים של תחיית המתים . וברוחו הפנימי, הקשור בקשר הקודש והנשגב של אור החיים, הוא מגביר כח החיים בכל המדרגות, ומשפר את מהות החיים בכל הערכין, ונותן הוא תמיד צורה חדשה לכל המוני מעלה ומטה.

טז. ישועות וקוממיות
שיחת מלאכי השרת הנה יותר טבעית, נובעת מזרם החיים הרוחניים הקבועים שלהם, וסיפור הנשמות הוא יותר מלאכותית במלאכת מחשבת, נובעת ממקור הבחירה וההתבוננות הפנימית. והריעות של מלאכים ונשמות יחד הוא מרומם את החיים עד קצה גובה עליון, היושבת בגנים חברים מקשיבים לקולך השמיעני. וכשהתורה מתיחדת בנשמתו של אדם, וכל הגיוניה מתהפכים לטבעו הפנימי, אז הוא לובש מלאכיות, תרי מלאכי ברקיע, דוגמת תרי אמוראי בארעא. ומלאכי השרת מאן נינהו רבנן, ותלמידי חכמים שבבבל דומין למלאכי השרת. יתרונו של אליהו הוא שכולל שני הקנינים יחד בצורה מושלמת, הנשמתית והמלאכית, והוא מגלה לנו רזי תורה, ומבשרנו ישועת ד', ושמחת גאולים. מה נאוו על ההרים רגלי מבשר, משמיע שלום, מבשר טוב, משמיע ישועה, אמר לציון מלך אלהיך. והולכת קוממיות, שתי קומות, קומת הנשמה וקומת המלאך, ושניהם מתגלים בפועל, וכשהם מתנוצצים, מתקיים ואשבר מוטות עלכם, בתחלה, ואחר כן ואולך אתכם קוממיות, והביאנו לשלום מארבע כנפות הארץ, על ידי אליהו בארבע, ותוליכנו מהרה קוממיות לארצנו, כי אל פועל ישועות אתה, שתי ישועות, ישועת קומת הנשמה וישועת קומת המלאך, זרע אדם וזרע בהמה.

However, only one who has entered wisdom and come out from it in peace can see the entire wisdom in that book. He tells a parable to illustrate his point about one who grasps the generality of wisdom but does not know the delights and delicacies that derive from that generality. The Concealed Book weighs on scales, the great scales at the head of Atik that balance all things. We learn of the death of the ancient kings and the earth having been made void at that time, and of the 6,000 years that the world exists. Though the ancient world was destroyed in twelve hours the thirteenth will be established with mercy and be renewed as before. During the seventh millennium, "Hashem alone shall be exalted on that day." Rabbi Shimon compares the first vision of Ezekiel to the first verses of Beresheet that tell the story of creation. The essence of all the Sfirot in this context are brought into the discussion. The Concealed Book tells of the creation of things in a way that is hidden to the common man; warning is given against anyone who would try to tell of it without understanding. But the righteous is the foundation of the world, and there is wisdom in righteousness which is vital to the structure of the world.

The membrane of air THAT IS BETWEEN THE SKULL AND CONCEALED CHOCHMAH was purified and hidden. The HAIRS OF THE HEAD OF ARICH ANPIN THAT ARE CALLED 'pure wool' are on the scale. The Will of All Wills is revealed ON THE FOREHEAD OF ARICH ANPIN through the prayers of the lower beings. Supervision from the open EYE that never sleeps and guards constantly IS INSTALLED IN THE EYES OF ARICH ANPIN, and the supervision OF THE LOWER DEPENDS on this supernal supervision OF ARICH ANPIN. תָּאנָא. סִפְרָא דְּצְנִיעוּתָא, סִפְרָא, דְּשָׁקִיל בְּמַתְקְלָא. דְּעַד דְּלָא הֲוָה מַתְקְלָא, לָא הֲווֹ מַשְׁגִּיחִין אַפִּין בְּאַפִּין, וּמַלְכִין קַדְמָאִין מִיתוּ, וְזִיוּנֵיהוֹן לָא אִשְׁתַּכְּחוּ, וְאַרְעָא אִתְבַּטְּלָת.

We have learned that the Concealed Book is a book that weighs on scales, THAT IS, THE BOOK THAT SPEAKS OF THE WEIGHT OF THE LIGHTS ON SCALES IS CALLED 'THE CONCEALED BOOK', BECAUSE THE WISDOM IN THE SCALES ILLUMINATES FROM BELOW UPWARDS WHICH IS THE WAY OF CONCEALMENT. THIS IS THE SECRET OF, "BUT WITH THE LOWLY (ALSO: 'CONCEALED') IS WISDOM" (MISHLEI 11:2). Before there was a balance, THE RIGHT AND THE LEFT - WHICH IS THE SECRET OF MALE AND FEMALE - did not look AT EACH OTHER face to face. The ancient kings died and had no weapon, and the earth - WHICH IS THE SECRET OF MALCHUT - was made void.

Safra Det'zniuta: Verse 4

עַד דְּרֵישָׁא דְּכִסּוּפָא דְּכָל כִּסוּפִין, לְבוּשֵׁי דִּיקָר אַתְקִין, וְאַחֲסִין.

Until the head, the most delectable of all delectations - WHICH IS THE HEAD OF THE NUKVA OF ATIK, CALLED 'THE UNKNOWN HEAD' - prepared precious garments and bequeathed THEM TO ALL.

Safra Det'zniuta: Verse 5

הַאי מַתְקְלָא תָּלֵי בַּאֲתַר דְּלָא הֲוָה, אִתְּקָלוּ בֵּיהּ אִינּוּן דְּלָא אִשְׁתַּכְּחוּ. מַתְקְלָא קָאֵים בְּגוּפֵיהּ. לָא אִתְאֲחָד, וְלָא אִתְחָזֵי. בֵּיהּ סְלִיקוּ, וּבֵיהּ סָלְקִין דְּלָא הֲווֹ, וַהֲווֹ, וְיְהֱוְיָּין.

These scales are hung in a place where they were not before, MEANING AT THE HEAD OF ATIK. In them were weighed those who had no WEAPONS - NAMELY, THE KINGS. BUT THE ESSENCE OF the scales lies in the body, MEANING THE CENTRAL COLUMN THAT IS TIFERET, WHERE JUDGMENT LIES. THIS JUDGMENT does not unite and is not visible IN THE SCALES. IN THESE SCALES, THE LIGHTS OF THE LEFT ascend FROM BELOW UPWARD, and in them rise those that were not, those that were, and those that will be.

ז. דממה עליונה
השתיקה נתבעת בעומק הנשמה, מכל אשר הגיגים עליונים, שבעצמם עומדים הם ממעל לחוג המבטא של האדם, הנם קבועים בתוכיותו. כשבעל המחשבה הדוממת עוסק בדממתו הנשגבה, עולמות רבים הולכים ונבנים, שירות נשגבות מתנשאות בשיא קדשן, וגבורה עליונה בעדן קודש מתרוממת על כל ספירותיו הרוחניות. השתיקה, המלאה חיים, מאצרת את הוד החכמה אל תוכה. העולם הרוחני והמעשי הולך ומתגלה בחידור עצום בכל פרטיהם, בכל קויהם היותר מדויקים, אל החכם העליון, שכרמי מטעיו הנם מסויגים בהסיג של שתיקה היפה לחכמים. זאת היא הדממה העליונה, המתעלה בהודה על הרוח, הרעש, ועל האש, קול דממה דקה, והנה ד' עובר.

ח. עת לחשות ועת לדבר
הירוס גדול בא במערכי הרוח, כשמופיע האור הפנימי של עת לחשות, והאילמות הקדושה העליונה בכל הוד כבודה ובכובד משאה היא ממלאה את כל הנשמה, אם ימרוד בה האדם, ויפרץ לדבר, מרידה זו במלכות הדומיה מחרבת את כל בניניו, כל האוצר של התום ושל היושר, של העומק ושל ההתקשרות העליונה, הכל מתרוסס. והוא צריך אחר כך, אם ירצה לבנות את הריסותיו, לכונן הכל מחדש, והמשכיל בעת ההיא ידום. אמנם כאשר יתן להדומיה את כבודה בעת הופעתה, אז תנהיג היא את משטרה, תכונן את אולמיה, תחדור בעמקיה ותבא עד נבכי תהומיה, ומתוכה תוציא פארות וענפים נאדרים בכח צומח גדול ורענן, השיחים ימלאו כח, ויבא ניב שפתים. אז תחל העת לדבר, בהדר כבודה, ורוח הדומיה יהיה המיטטרון, הפועל על שיטפת הדיבור, אשר יזל כנחלים ברוב עושר וכל חמדה, בורא ניב שפתים שלום שלום לרחוק ולקרוב אמר ד' ורפאתיו. והיה פריו למאכל ועלהו לתרופה, להתיר פה אלמים . ט. הדממה ורוח הקדש
הדממה מביאה לידי רוח הקודש. וכל מה שרוח הקודש מתגבר באדם, ככה הוא מכיר את גודל ערכו של הדיבור, את פעולתו ואת גבורת שליטתו המעשית. וכפי מה שיהיה דיבורו יקר בעיניו, מפני מה שיודע הוא את ערכו, ככה יגדל ערכו באמת, ופעולת דיבורו תהיה נפלאה, ותתנוצץ עליו סגולת ישראל הפנימית, הקול קול יעקב, אין לך תפלה שנשמעת שאין בה מזרעו של יעקב .
