Don't blame it on the women, but blame it on the needs of evolution (the strongest genes are meant to survive to encourage future generations). The intelligent man or street smart man knows that by covering up his weaknesses, faults, and deficits, he can project the illusion that he is mysterious, perfect, strong, charming and more. He can use superficial and glib charm to essentially "fake it till you make it". Men (and some women) use the dark triad personality traits in order to get ahead in life, love, industry, business, college, and many other areas. The dark triad personality is prevalent in all high offices, including law enforcement, court rooms, politics, the military, and more. These institutions (along with corporations) encourage self-love and self-promotion in order to gain higher pay and status. This is part of our "civilized" society. Unfortunately, the encouragement of dark triad strategies encourages cutthroat moves in life.
