The Dark Triad Strategies Audiobook by J. B. Snow03 Oct 201700:26:00
Please open https://hotaudiobook.com ONLY on your standard browser Safari, Chrome, Microsoft or Firefox to download full audiobooks of your choice for free. Title: The Dark Triad Strategies Subtitle: Tools of Narcissists, Psychopaths, and Manipulative People Author: J. B. Snow Narrator: Pete Beretta Format: Unabridged Length: 26 mins Language: English Release date: 10-03-17 Publisher: JB Snow Publishing Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: If you are here, chances are good that you have been a victim of the "dark triad" strategies which are employed by people with seemingly "bad" or "evil" personalities or behaviors. There are those who are born with "bad" or "evil" or "anti-social" personalities. There are those who are born with pro-social and empathetic personalities. Then, there are those who use "dark triad" strategies as a means of gaining immense personal power, financial gain, and sexual prowess. It is a fact that most women, due to evolution, are strongly drawn to the "bad" boy or the "alpha" male because he has the most resources: money, status, power, friends, a good family, good genes, strength, protective qualities, etc. It is also a fact, however, that alpha men are the first ones to want attention from multiple females, encouraging their predisposition for cheating. These alpha males might have healthy levels of narcissism which give them a competitive edge over the beta males, or he may be employing or feigning the dark triad strategies which give him the advantage. One of these features makes him a worthy alpha male, while the other actually makes him such a bad boy that a woman risks being thrown under the bus, murdered, framed, abused, or blackmailed when she sticks it out with the alpha bad boy. Most women will not tolerate cheating, and thus might break up the family in order to introduce a better alpha or a beta male who will be more likely to stick around. Because most women are intensely attracted to the top percentage of alpha males, they have a tendency to ignore the beta males (the "nice" guys) in favor of the mean or "evil" bad boy types. Don't blame it on the women, but blame it on the needs of evolution (the strongest genes are meant to survive to encourage future generations). The intelligent man or street smart man knows that by covering up his weaknesses, faults, and deficits, he can project the illusion that he is mysterious, perfect, strong, charming and more. He can use superficial and glib charm to essentially "fake it till you make it". Men (and some women) use the dark triad personality traits in order to get ahead in life, love, industry, business, college, and many other areas. The dark triad personality is prevalent in all high offices, including law enforcement, court rooms, politics, the military, and more. These institutions (along with corporations) encourage self-love and self-promotion in order to gain higher pay and status. This is part of our "civilized" society. Unfortunately, the encouragement of dark triad strategies encourages cutthroat moves in life. People who are mostly civil, laid-back, non-competitive, pro-social, empathetic, and sympathetic will be harmed by those who are aiming for cut-throat competitiveness in order to get ahead. These people will suffer at the hands of the cutthroat competition. Download now for more!

Title: Dream Psychology Subtitle: The Complete Work Plus an Overview, Summary, Analysis and Author Biography Author: Israel Bouseman, Sigmund Freud Narrator: Kevin Barbare Format: Unabridged Length: 6 hrs and 15 mins Language: English Release date: 12-22-14 Publisher: AudioLearn Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 1 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: One cannot enter into a study of psychology without coming across the name of Sigmund Freud. Even in popular culture, his name stands in common with others like Albert Einstein and Karl Marx. There are downsides to this level of popularity. One often encounters the criticisms of Freud's work before ever reading his texts. The works of Sigmund Freud are the foundation of modern psychology. They display a brilliance and insight into the mind which overshadows the understanding of many of those to follow. This insight is demonstrated beautifully in Dream Psychology, which is a condensation of Freud's earlier work The Interpretation of Dreams. A comprehensive summary precedes the narration of the text. The summary includes a biography and background information on the author and a review by chapter. Also included are an overview, synopsis, and analysis of the text, and a section which explores the historical context, criticisms, and social impact of Freud's work. This is a must-hear for any who wish to understand the workings of the mind, or to explore the revolutionary impact of Freud on the field of psychology.

Madness and Creativity Audiobook by Dr. Ann Belford Ulanov10 Jul 201704:29:00
Please open https://hotaudiobook.com ONLY on your standard browser Safari, Chrome, Microsoft or Firefox to download full audiobooks of your choice for free. Title: Madness and Creativity Subtitle: Carolyn and Ernest Fay Series in Analytical Psychology Author: Dr. Ann Belford Ulanov Narrator: Kathy Bell Denton Format: Unabridged Length: 4 hrs and 29 mins Language: English Release date: 07-10-17 Publisher: University Press Audiobooks Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: Analyst and author Ann Belford Ulanov draws on her years of clinical work and reflection to make the point that madness and creativity share a kinship, an insight that shakes both analysis and analyst to the core, reminding us as it does that the suffering places of the human psyche are inextricably -- and, often inexplicably -- related to the fountains of creativity, service, and even genius. She poses disturbing questions: How do we depend on order, when chaos is a necessary part of existence? What are we to make of evil -- both that surrounding us and that within us? Is there a myth of meaning that can contain all the differences that threaten to shatter us? Ulanov's insights unfold in conversation with themes in Jung's Red Book which, according to Jung, present the most important experiences of his life, themes he explicated in his subsequent theories. Responding to some of Jung's more fantastic encounters as he illustrated them, Ulanov suggests that our problems and compulsions may show us the path our creativity should take. With Jung she asserts that the multiplicities within and around us are, paradoxically, pieces of a greater whole that can provide healing and unity as, in her words, "every part of us and of our world gets a seat at the table." Madness and Creativity stands as a carefully crafted presentation, with many clinical examples of human courage and fulfillment. The book is published by Texas A&M University Press.
Authoritarian Sociopathy: Toward a Renegade Psychological Experiment Audiobook by Davi Barker21 Jul 201401:22:00
Please open https://hotaudiobook.com ONLY on your standard browser Safari, Chrome, Microsoft or Firefox to download full audiobooks of your choice for free. Title: Authoritarian Sociopathy: Toward a Renegade Psychological Experiment Author: Davi Barker Narrator: Darryl W. Perry Format: Unabridged Length: 1 hr and 22 mins Language: English Release date: 07-21-14 Publisher: Free Press Publications Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 9 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: Numerous studies have shown us that those given authority are more likely to lie, cheat, and steal, while also being harsher in their judgments of others for doing these same things. Science tells us people with power feel less compassion for the suffering of others. Previous experiments also show us that those who are obedient to authority are capable of the worst forms of murder, and tolerant of the worst forms of abuse. They will even chastise those of us who resist corrupt authority. They become facilitators of evil, believing that obedience to authority absolves them of personal responsibility. This is the fifth draft of a renegade psychological experiment on authoritarian sociopathy, specifically on police brutality. We aim to show the world beyond a shadow of a doubt, that power corrupts absolutely, and corrupt authority deserves no obedience.
The Passionate Muse Audiobook by Keith Oatley06 May 201306:34:00
Please open https://hotaudiobook.com ONLY on your standard browser Safari, Chrome, Microsoft or Firefox to download full audiobooks of your choice for free. Title: The Passionate Muse Subtitle: Exploring Emotion in Stories Author: Keith Oatley Narrator: Bruce Mann Format: Unabridged Length: 6 hrs and 34 mins Language: English Release date: 05-06-13 Publisher: Audible Studios Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: The emotions a character feels - Hamlet's vengefulness when he realizes his uncle has killed his father, Anna Karenina's despair when she feels she can longer sustain her life, Marcel's joy when he tastes a piece of madeleine cake - are vital aspects of the experience of fiction. As Keith Oatley points out, it's not just the emotions of literary characters such as these in which we are interested. If we didn't ourselves experience emotions, we wouldn't go to the play, or watch the film, or read the book. In The Passionate Muse, Oatley, who is both a prize-winning novelist and a distinguished research psychologist, offers a hybrid book that alternates sections of an original short story, "One Another", with chapters that illuminate the psychology of emotion and fiction. Oatley not only provides insight into how people engage in stories, he also illuminates the value of emotion and the importance of stories for our psychological well-being. Indeed, he offers evidence that the more fiction we read, the better is our understandings of others. Through fiction, we come to know more about the emotions of others and ourselves.

When understood, these messages offer a remarkable insight into the dreamer's personality, their half-buried fears and hidden impulses. Unfortunately, since they come disguised in symbols not easily recognizable, dream messages are most often lost. This audiobook, written by a professor of psychology after years of intensive case study, offers a lucid explanation of the meanings behind dream symbols. It is an audiobook every adult in search of self-understanding should listen to, for it shows how the layman can decode their own dreams. And within our dreams lie the key to our hidden thoughts.
Quirky, Eccentric, and Anti-Social Parents: The Truth About Aspergers Syndrome Parents and Neurotypical Children Audiobook by J.B. Snow31 Dec 201500:21:00
Please open https://hotaudiobook.com ONLY on your standard browser Safari, Chrome, Microsoft or Firefox to download full audiobooks of your choice for free. Title: Quirky, Eccentric, and Anti-Social Parents: The Truth About Aspergers Syndrome Parents and Neurotypical Children Subtitle: Transcend Mediocrity, Book 107 Author: J.B. Snow Narrator: Mike Norgaard Format: Unabridged Length: 21 mins Language: English Release date: 12-31-15 Publisher: JB Snow Publishing Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 5 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: There are many books and articles out there about the difficulty that neurotypical parents have in raising Asperger children. Neurotypical parents find out that their child is on the autism spectrum, and they often experience a sense of grief when they come to realize that their child will never be what they might have envisioned. The child may be quirky, awkward, and difficult to relate to. There is a well-known poem in the autistic community called "Welcome to Holland" by Emily Perl Kingsley. It tells of excited parents hearing everyone else talk about going to Italy. They pack their bags. They are so excited to see Italy like everyone else. Their trip destination is suddenly changed, and they end up in Holland instead. Italy clearly isn't Holland. But they must enjoy Holland for the beauty that it is. In the same way, people must enjoy the personality, challenges, and the love that their autistic child brings into the world. There is another side of the coin, however. What about when the reverse is true? There are many people who have Asperger's disorder who go on to get pregnant. One or both parents might be undiagnosed but still on the autism spectrum. There is a chance that the baby may turn out to be an aspie as well. The child fits in just fine with the parent who behaves in a similar way to them. After all, many aspies run in the family. But sometimes a neurotypical child is born to one or both aspie parents. This audiobook seeks to provide you with the deficiencies that can occur between a neurotypical child and a parent who has Asperger syndrome or who falls on the autism spectrum. We hope to educate adult children who grew up with an aspie as to why they might be experiencing Complex-PTSD, who may have felt alienated as children, and who are largely confused in their world. This audiobook also seeks to educate those who may mentor or work with an NT child who was born into an aspie family or who has constant exposure to aspies.

Title: Kidding Ourselves Subtitle: The Hidden Power of Self-Deception Author: Joseph T. Hallinan Narrator: Brian Hutchison Format: Unabridged Length: 5 hrs and 34 mins Language: English Release date: 05-20-14 Publisher: Recorded Books Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 10 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: In Kidding Ourselves, Joseph Hallinan offers a nuts-and-bolts look at how this penchant shapes our everyday lives, from the medicines we take to the decisions we make. It shows, for instance, just how much the power of many modern medicines, particularly anti-depressants and painkillers, is largely in our heads. Placebos in modern-day life extend beyond hospitals, to fake thermostats and "elevator close" buttons that don't really work but give the perception that they do. Kidding Ourselves brings together a variety of subjects, linking seemingly unrelated ideas in fascinating and unexpected ways. And ultimately, it shows that deceiving ourselves is not always negative or foolish. As increasing numbers of researchers are discovering, it can be incredibly useful, providing us with the resilience we need to persevere, in the boardroom, bedroom, and beyond. Provocative, accessible, and easily applicable to multiple facets of everyday life, Kidding Ourselves is an extraordinary new exploration of our mind's flexibility.

Human Manipulation Modes: Either You Are Manipulating or You Are Being Manipulated Audiobook by Olga Skorbatyuk, Kate Bazilevsky20 Nov 201506:36:00

Title: Human Manipulation Modes: Either You Are Manipulating or You Are Being Manipulated Subtitle: Catalog of Human Souls, Book 3 Author: Olga Skorbatyuk, Kate Bazilevsky Narrator: Larry David Eudene Format: Unabridged Length: 6 hrs and 36 mins Language: English Release date: 11-20-15 Publisher: HPA Press Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 6 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: Do you think that no one can control you? Well, we sincerely feel sorry for you, because it means that you do not know anything about natural manipulation modes. Manipulation modes are the "factory settings" of Mother Nature itself; they are built in to the structure of psyche of Homo sapiens at the level of instincts and unconditioned reflexes - meaning inborn reactions of an organism to certain influences of the external or the internal environment. Manipulation modes are implanted in the unconscious part of human psyche since birth. Any representative of the biological type Homo sapiens has three of these modes: suppressing, balancing, and stimulating. Originally, they are modes of self-correction and self-regulation intended to ensure that a human could regulate the state of his psychophysiology and behavior from within himself. However, as it turned out, if you know natural manipulation modes of an individual and transmit them toward him or her from the outside, then he or she becomes 100 percent controllable, like a robot machine. It is impossible to notice the application of natural manipulation modes. The influence bypasses the consciousness and intellect of the subject of manipulation. No one is able to notice the transmittance of natural manipulation modes toward him or her, regardless of his or her professional skills, educational level, life experience, and intuition, as these modes are an inherent part of the individual structure of human psyche. They are his or her own native, which is called "closer than skin". The unprecedented power of this tool and its effectiveness are probably due to the fact that it is nature's creation. Nobody invented or developed manipulation modes. Information about this natural mechanism and practical tool for managing a human are of a very archaic origin. Both were accidentally found by a Russian researcher-sinologist, Andrey Davydov, while he was studying one very ancient source. The title of this source is Shan Hai Jing (Catalog of Mountains and Seas).

Title: Spark Subtitle: How Creativity Works Author: Julie Burstein, Kurt Andersen Narrator: Julie Burstein Format: Unabridged Length: 7 hrs and 45 mins Language: English Release date: 05-17-11 Publisher: HarperAudio Ratings: 3 of 5 out of 16 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: How did Richard Ford's cat influence his work as a novelist? HOW is Chuck Close's portraiture driven by his inability to remember faces? What pivotal moment helped Rosanne Cash understand the healing power of the stage? Creativity is an elusive subject. We enjoy its fruits - movies, novels, paintings, songs - but rarely are we privy to what happens in the creative process. In Spark, Julie Burstein traces the roots of some of the 21st century's most influential and creative thinkers, including Joyce Carol Oates, Yo-Yo Ma, David Milch, Isabel Allende, and Joshua Redman. Burstein pulls back the curtain to reveal the sources of these artists' inspiration and the processes that bring their work into being. "These artists may not change lead into gold," Burstein writes, "but they lift materials from their familiar contexts, combining, reshaping, transforming them into works of art that change the way we see the world." Spark is an invaluable resource for the aspiring writer and artist, but the need for creativity extends well beyond the world of paintbrushes and typewriters. Creativity is integral to business, parenting, education, science, and, perhaps most poignantly, our personal relationships. Rarely do books on creativity illuminate and inspire; this marvelous volume will help you find a spark of your own.

While one learner may excel in a particular subject, another may do well in all the subjects. Trainees go through the same training to be graded differently according to the level of information they have absorbed and the understanding they show. Learning is a complex process. It takes years for a person to understand certain subjects and he still works his way out of life with limited information because it is difficult to imbibe the overwhelming amount of knowledge present in the world today. Depending on how information is absorbed, processed, and retained, a number of learning theories have been formulated which help us understand the process of learning in individuals. A number of factors decide the manner in which knowledge is acquired or information is processed by a person changing their views on certain subjects and forming new views about certain things. Learning is related with different parts of the brain which plays an important role in processing any information that we receive. Every individual processes the information differently based on their strengths and weaknesses. Educational psychology endeavors to gain an understanding about the different behaviors of an individual to a piece of information. This is used in analyzing the type of learning that can affect the individual the most. Different schools of thoughts are available for finding out how education and information is absorbed by a learner. This book aims at exploring the different learning theories that currently exist and understanding the roots of the theory and gaining an insight into the reasons why these theories exist.

Based on data from 2010, the number of people with autism was estimated to be about 1-2 for every 1,000 people globally. The condition is also 4-5 times more likely to develop among boys than girls. An estimated 1.7 percent of children in the US are diagnosed with the condition, and as of 2014 there had been a 30 percent increase from one in 88 in 2012. Autism among adults in the United Kingdom is 1.1 percent. The number of new cases has increased dramatically from the 1980s, largely because of changes in government-subsidized financial incentives and diagnostic practice for named diagnoses, but the question of whether the actual rates have risen remains unresolved. Holiday does not use the term "ego" in the traditional Freudian sense but rather as a synonym for excessive self-regard, or egotism. Thanks to the Internet and social media, having an inflated ego is now more encouraged in Western society than ever before. Nevertheless, learning how to cultivate an authentic sense of oneself and one's abilities is vital for living gracefully and achieving one's goals. Although history is populated by famous and even notorious egomaniacs, the most influential and successful people were more often those who focused on their life's work with humility and dedication. Compare, for example, the outsized ego of Napoleon, whose grandiose imperial ambitions ended in shame and exile, with the character of American general William Tecumseh Sherman. After retiring from the military, he refused to run for president. PLEASE NOTE: This is key takeaways and analysis of the book and not the original book. Title: Manage Your Mindset Subtitle: Maximize Your Power of Personal Choice Author: Janet Hanson Narrator: Suzie Althens Format: Unabridged Length: 5 hrs and 59 mins Language: English Release date: 11-17-17 Publisher: Vibrance Press Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: As the foremost researcher in the area of correlating mindset with a variety of organizational learning factors, having performed a survey validation study of the Mindset Works, Inc. What's My School Mindset? Survey and the Project for Educational Research That Scales (PERTS) academic mindset survey, the author has discovered links between the philosophical positions one holds and the theory of mind that describes what makes humans different from animals. This book proposes that the ability to recognize and respond to the differences between what we "see" and others "see" is the key reason for individuals, groups, and organizations to succeed or to fail. How we perceive differences and respond to them changes the way our brain develops and how our systems are designed. This book provides strategies for supporting continuous development and growth in individuals, in group dynamics, and in system/organizational development using the most current understanding and propositions of theories of mind. Our theories of physics are expanding through Newtonian, classical, and on to quantum. Our technologies are expanding from simple tools to industrialization to digital information systems and on to holographic imagery and virtual realities. Biological understandings have grown from magical beliefs about life through static views of fixed DNA to cloning and the potential to regenerate organs and extend life. Our world is in need of an update on the social transformations occurring in human understanding that apply to addressing key issues of our day. This book revisits the concepts discussed in mindset theory and reframes it with a larger, more inclusive potential for understanding our world that empowers our ability for personal choice to improve our lives.

This regimen is intended to provide women with a healthier alternative to antidepressants. By taking an empowered, proactive approach to health, women can overcome debilitating symptoms, become healthier, and ultimately thrive without antidepressants. Over the course of years as a traditional psychiatrist, Brogan prescribed antidepressants to women because she believed that a chemical imbalance in the brain accounted for mental health disorders. Title: The Psychology of Conflict Subtitle: Mediating in a Diverse World Author: Paul Randolph Narrator: Philip Franks Format: Unabridged Length: 5 hrs and 25 mins Language: English Release date: 02-25-16 Publisher: Audible Studios for Bloomsbury Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 3 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: The Psychology of Conflict is a timely new contribution on the unique benefits of applying philosophy and psychology to mediating between people in conflict. Following his previous book with Dr. Freddie Strasser - Mediation: A Psychological Insight into Conflict Resolution - Paul Randolph here examines the application of existential philosophy to the psychology of conflict, particularly as seen in mediation. Through an outline of the shared human characteristics ("existential givens") as depicted by prominent existentialists, he shows how conflict resolvers from a variety of professions can benefit from a deeper knowledge of human behavior in conflict. This practical guide, with a foreword by Nobel Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu, will assist those interested in conflict resolution to better understand the psychological processes of parties in conflict and mediation. As Randolph argues, psychology is seen as an increasingly vital tool for resolving conflicts in politics, peace negotiations, divorce, employment, and the commercial sector.

Title: Stockholm Syndrome Subtitle: Ideas & Concepts Author: iMinds Narrator: Luca James Lee Format: Unabridged Length: 7 mins Language: English Release date: 09-11-09 Publisher: iMinds Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 7 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: Learn about Stockholm Syndrome with iMinds insightful audio knowledge series. At first glance two of the 1970's most notorious bank robberies would seem to have nothing in common. They occurred eight months apart, for different motives, on opposite sides of the globe. But these two incidents would prove seminal to the development and understanding of a curious and once controversial psychological condition; Stockholm Syndrome. On the 15th of April 1974, the Sunset District branch of the Hibernia Bank in San Francisco was robbed. Security footage showed a young, attractive urban guerrilla brandishing a machine gun and ordering people in the bank to lie face down on the ground. The term Stockholm Syndrome had been coined less than a year earlier by psychiatrist Nils Bejerot after the robbery of the Norrmalmstorg Kreditbanken in Stockholm. The bungled robbery resulted in a hostage situation during which four bank employees were held captive for more than five days from August 23rd to August 28th 1973. Perfect to listen to while commuting, exercising, shopping or cleaning the house.. iMinds brings knowledge to your MP3 with 8 minute information segments to whet your mental appetite and broaden your mind. iMinds offers 12 main categories; become a Generalist by increasing your knowledge of Business, Politics, People, History, Pop Culture, Mystery, Crime, Culture, Religion, Concepts, Science and Sport. Perfect your dinner party conversation, impress your boss - an excellent way to discover topics of interest for the future. Editorial Reviews: Psychiatrist Nils Bejerot coined the term "Stockholm Syndrome" - a psychological state where hostages sympathize with their captors - in 1973 after the Norrmalmstorg robbery in Stockholm, Sweden, though it gained prominence when Patty Hearst's attorneys used it as a defense for her actions during her criminal trial in 1976. Hearst was kidnapped in 1974 by the Symbionese Liberation Army, and assisted in their robbery of a San Francisco bank later that year. In this iMinds title, Luca James Lee uses sober authority to comprehensively summarize a complex state of mind, simplifying the matter for listeners and enabling easier accessibility. Critic Reviews: "I'm learning all sorts of stuff about stuff I didn't even know I didn't know. And it sticks. In a nutshell: wonderful." (Jonathon Margolis, Financial Times)
The Mind of a Madman Audiobook by Richard Orange28 Oct 201303:54:00

Title: The Mind of a Madman Subtitle: Norway's Struggle to Understand Anders Breivik Author: Richard Orange Narrator: Gary Dikeos Format: Unabridged Length: 3 hrs and 54 mins Language: English Release date: 10-28-13 Publisher: Audible Studios Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 11 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: Anders Behring Breivik killed more people in his twin terror attack in Norway last year than any lone gunman ever had in peacetime before him. When he was arrested, he claimed to act on behalf of the Knights Templar, a militant network sworn to protect Europe from Islam. But Norwegian police could find no evidence such a group existed. Was Breivik a genuine terrorist, driven by far-right ideology, or a deluded madman? Over the next year, this question would draw in police specialists, lawyers, psychiatrists, and experts in the far-right, culminating in a trial that ceased to be simply about guilt or innocence. Instead, the court would confront a more troubling question: how could such brutal acts become possible for a young man brought up in some of the most privileged parts of Oslo? In Mind of a Madman, journalist Richard Orange draws on his own court reporting, three court psychiatric reports, police interviews, and transcripts from the trial to give the most complete account yet of a shocked society's attempt to understand the killer. Editorial Reviews: On July 22nd of 2011, Anders Behring Breivik went on a killing spree that claimed the lives of 77 innocent people in Olso, Norway. The question everyone was asking was, "how could someone do that?" and "why?" Richard Orange's The Mind of a Madman provides a comprehensive look at the court procedures that followed Breivik's attack. Orange includes his own personal court notes, police interviews, three court psychiatric reports and transcripts from the trial in order to present a complete and non-sensational account of Beivik's attacks and the resulting court procedures. Gary Dikeos' voice is measured and somber, honoring Norway's struggle to make sense of what happened.

What you might not know is that there is another kind of intelligence, emotional, that seems to be the secret behind many successful people. If this type of intelligence is emotional, you already imagine it's not the kind of thing you learn in school or depends on mathematical equations or bizarre formulas. Basically, emotional intelligence is the ability a person has to realize, understand, evaluate, and manage their emotions - and also the emotions of others - in a positive way. Managing emotions is not exactly the easiest task in the world. It takes self-criticism, reflection, meditation, and empathy - just to name a few factors. It all affects the way we behave, make decisions, and interact socially. In this book, let's talk about emotional intelligence and how it influences in all areas of your life.

This audiobook is in Spanish.

It's a Jungle in There Audiobook by David A. Rosenbaum10 Sep 201410:03:00
Please open https://hotaudiobook.com ONLY on your standard browser Safari, Chrome, Microsoft or Firefox to download full audiobooks of your choice for free. Title: It's a Jungle in There Subtitle: How Competition and Cooperation in the Brain Shape the Mind Author: David A. Rosenbaum Narrator: Ralph Morocco Format: Unabridged Length: 10 hrs and 3 mins Language: English Release date: 09-10-14 Publisher: Audible Studios Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 5 votes Genres: Science & Technology, Psychology & The Mind Publisher's Summary: The saying "It's a jungle out there" refers to a competitive environment in which you'd better hone your skills if you hope to survive. And you'd better do what you can to keep a roof over your head, food in your belly, a leaf on your loins, and a mate who'll help pass on your genes to the next generation of jungle Jims and Janes. Distinguished professor and cognitive psychologist David Rosenbaum takes this metaphor of surviving in the wild and applies it to the competitive arena within the brain. He argues that the overarching theory of biology, Darwin's theory, should be the overarching theory of cognitive psychology, the science of mental functioning. He explores this new and intriguing idea by showing how neural elements compete and cooperate in a kind of inner jungle, where only the fittest survive. Competition within your brain does as much to shape who you are as the physical and figurative competition you face externally. Just as the jungle night seethes with noisy creatures beckoning their mates, issuing their warnings, and settling their arguments, you might have trouble falling asleep at night because the thoughts in your head are fighting for their chance at survival. Rosenbaum's pursuit of this bold idea explains why we are shaped into who we are, for better or worse, because we are the hosts of inner battlefields.Written in a light-hearted tone and with reference to hypothetical neural "creatures" making their way in a tough environment, Rosenbaum makes cognitive psychology and his theory easy to understand and exciting to ponder. Rather than rely on the series of disconnected phenomena and collection of curiosities that often constitute cognitive psychology, Its a Jungle in There provides a fascinating way to place all cognitive phenomena under one flourishing tree.
