• Medical narration is a broad genre that includes various subgenres such as medical commercials, corporate scripts, anthem scripts, explainers, e-learning, mechanism of action and disease animations, ISI, and medical device.
• Understanding the structure, unique words, and context of each script is crucial in delivering an effective medical narration.
• Improv skills can be beneficial in narration, helping voice actors feel comfortable, be flexible, and get out of their heads.
• Having a medical background can be an advantage in medical narration, but it doesn't guarantee success and it isn't a requirement.
• Skills needed for medical narration include sounding intelligent, understanding complex scripts, and being able to interpret and deliver medical terminology accurately.
• When creating a medical narration demo, it's important to showcase range, accuracy, and the ability to handle different types of medical content.
• Medical narration continues to be a lucrative genre, as the demand for accurate and human-delivered medical information remains high.

When you submit an audition on a casting site or through an agent, it's reasonable to assume it's for an active project and the voice actor will be hired "soon." Like... the next day. Maybe the next week at most. And so many VO's obsessively check their casting profiles and inboxes waiting for the email to come that says they've booked.

This is a great way to make yourself crazy, and it isn't necessarily an accurate reflection of voice over casting timelines. In this episode, I share a few thoughts that will hopefully help you relax, stress a little less and enjoy the audition process a little more.
