In this University of Applied Research & Development Educator's Podcast, #13 we speak with Royal Society member Aiono Manu Faaea-Semeatu, (MRSNZ).  Aiono is the Senior Pasifika Manager at Manukau Institute of Technology. Aiono Manu Faaea-Semeatu is a practising ethnomusicologist and educator. "Aiono" is a chief title bestowed on her by her father's family from the village of Fasito'o-uta in Upolu, Samoa.  Aiono shares a number of strategies and insights into the impact of culture and how educators can create a more welcoming & empowering environment to facilitate learning.

Cary's holds the CIPD L5 Certificate in Learning and Development Practice and is a member of our Contributing Faculty https://uard.university/contributing-...  With a career spanning 15 years in the field of Learning and Development across multiple sectors in the UK, Carys is an experienced L&D Practitioner, operating at both delivery and strategic levels within the wider remit of Human Resources, on both national and global scales.  Prior to this, Carys has worked in the Hospitality, Not-for-Profit, Travel, and Finance industries within the UK for global organisations, and specializes in: L&D and HRM Strategy, Organisational Development, Leadership Development and Personal Development.  She is a qualified Coach and member of the UK’s Coaching Culture Community,  and a Member of the Learning and Performance Institute. Carys is also an Associate Member of the CIPD, the UK’s leading body for People Professionals, and is a Mentor for their  Steps Ahead programme which supports young people with their career development.  Carys’ passion is in supporting individuals with their personal development and unlocking their potential. As part of her CIPD study, Carys carried out research on how L&D can more effectively support adult learners with dyslexia in the workplace. Neurodiversity and Inclusive Learning Environments remain an area of special interest for her.
