On this week’s episode, host Caryn Antonini is joined by Chef German Rizzo, an Italian-born restaurateur, consultant, caterer and media personality. Hailing from the Piedmont region of Italy, Chef German received his training at the Culinary Art School in Torino and went on to travel internationally, gaining experience throughout Italy, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Canada, Hungry for more experience and opportunities, he went to New York where he began working for the renown Cipriani Group. Soon thereafter he opened his first restaurant, Vite Vinosteria in 2018. He went on to open Plado Tasting Bar in the East Village and L’Artista Italian Kitchen and Bar in Hamilton Heights. Chef German is a regular on the Food Network, he was a finalist on Supermarket Stakeout and won the 2018 Little Big Italy Competition.

Her Italian upbringing instilled a passion for the culinary arts which prompted her to shift gears and pursue training at the International Culinary Center in NY. She went on to get her masters in restaurant management at Cornell and a degree from Le Cordon Bleu in London. Silvia has worked in restaurants in London, NY and CT which has included Michelin starred restaurants, the Ritz and Ottolenghi. She launched an innovative culinary group, Strawberry and Sage, has had her recipes and work published in numerous publications and recently authored a cookbook, Les Dames d’Escoffier New York Cookbook - Stirring the Pot.
