In addition to this, Shirley is also changing the economy of her home country, Martinique by partnering with banana producers in Martinique, creating jobs that enable young people to stay in the country vs leaving for "better" opportunities and encouraging young women to pursue careers in STEM! 

In this episode, we discuss Shirley's upbringing which includes being born to a Martinique mother & French father and growing up between Djibouti, Martinique and France. Shirley lets us in on how her early exposure to traditional Caribbean medicine fueled her into plant research, her DIY banana face masks, how her well routines defy some of the main things all the beauty gurus tell us and how drill music (yes, drill rap) is currently her favorite music to dance to in the morning!
