Darren Forbes – Vocals/Guitar, discusses the start of the Shambolics and what Alan McGee describes as, “one of the most exciting things coming out of Scotland……”


Shambolics are a four piece Fife band; Lewis McDonald (vocals/guitar), Darren Forbes (vocals/guitar), Jordan McHatton (vocals/bass) and Jake Bain (vocals/drums). Already said to be, “a firm favourite on Scottish turf, the four piece have become accustomed to selling out venues like St Lukes in Glasgow and The Water Rats in London in a heartbeat.”

Signed by Alan McGee to his Creation 23 label last summer. Not ones to sit still, the Shams preoccupied themselves during the pandemic with a series of classic cover versions in their distinctly dreamy style, including Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere’, The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Light’, ABBA’s ‘mamma Mia and The Rolling Stones‘ ’Sympathy For The Devil’; finding a raft of new fans with their uplifting reworkings.

Ian Donaldson is a Scottish singer, songwriter, composer, record producer and writer.

Donaldson’s music career spans more than 40 years. He came to prominence in the early 1980s as co-founder and lead singer of new wave band H2O, which released two UK Top 40 hits in 1983 with the singles “I Dream to Sleep” and “Just Outside of Heaven”. After the band’s break-up, he pursued a solo career and played in a band called FourGoodMen.


February 2018 saw the release of Donaldson’s first solo CD, From Stars We Came (Toy Town Records). Two sold-out concerts in Glasgow celebrated his official return to the world of music.

He is also currently working on his second novel.
