Will 56 Worldview listeners give $45,000 TODAY?, Buddhists poison 3 kids of Christian couple in Laos, Iran’s ballistic missiles hit Israeli hospital
vendredi 20 juin 2025 • Duration 00:00
It’s Friday, June 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I’m Adam McManus. ([email protected])

Buddhist relatives poison 3 kids of Christian couple in Laos
In Northern Laos, Pa-yang, a young mother in her 20s and her husband, Lavee, became Christians in 2020. Since then, the villagers had tried to expel the family unless they recanted their faith in Christ.
That comes as no surprise since 66% of Laotians are Buddhist and only 1.5% are Christian.
The situation took an ugly turn when Pa-yang’s relatives wanted her to sell them land she owned. When she refused, they hired someone to sneak into the home and poison a beverage. The three children got to it first.
When Pa-yang and her husband were alerted to the medical emergency, they rushed back from the fields to find all three children lying ill on the floor. Tragically, the eldest did not survive and the other two were in comas, reports Open Doors.
Open Doors paid for the hospitalization of the younger two children, who got better, as well as covering follow-up medical visits.
The heartbroken mother said, “I am sad to lose my son, but I believe—and I know—that my son is sitting with Jesus in Heaven."
Lavee, the father, added, "Even if there is more persecution, we will continue believing in Jesus. We will walk faithfully with the Lord, even if we are the only ones doing it. My encouragement comes from the story of Job in the Bible. He faced many tests and lost almost everything, but the Lord delivered him in the end. I believe the Lord God will always save us like He saved Job."
Lavee said, "Please pray for our case in the court against the people who killed our child. Pray that the justice system is fair to us. Pray that the perpetrators do not find ways to harm us more if they are released. I am also unsure if God wants us to stay in the same village or look for a new place. Pray that the Lord leads us in making the right decision."
Remarkably, Lavee said this. "I believe that the people who plan to kill or harm us for any reason can open their hearts to see God's mercy and love, if we pray for them. So, please pray for them."
Lavee is living the message of Mathhew 5:44 where Jesus said, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
Iran’s ballistic missiles hit Israeli hospital
Iran fired a barrage of some 30 ballistic missiles early Thursday, scoring a direct hit on Israel’s main southern hospital, the Soroka Medical Center, reports the Times of Israel.
Sam Mednick, a reporter with the Associated Press, brings us this report from the scene.
MEDNICK: “The hospital was hit by a missile from Iran early Thursday morning. The top of the building is basically blown off, and you can still see smoke smoldering from the side of it hours later.
“This is a major hit from Iran on in a major city on a big hospital, and one of the most significant hits since this conflict began.”
The Magen David Adom emergency service said that a man, age 80, and two women, both in their 70s, were among six people seriously hurt. Two people were moderately injured, and at least 42 others suffered light injuries from shock waves and shrapnel at the various impact sites. In addition, 18 people were lightly injured as they scrambled to bomb shelters when sirens went off.
The barrage was the latest from Iran as it bombards Israel with ballistic missiles. Israel began attacking Iranian nuclear and military sites last week, citing the immediate existential threat they pose.
New York Catholic diocese to pay $150 million to 891 sex abuse victims
The Roman Catholic Church in Buffalo, New York is set to pay $150 million to victims of sexual abuse that occurred at the hands of Catholic priests, reports The Catholic Review.
Gary Aldridge, a survivor of Catholic clergy sexual abuse, said this.
ALDRIDGE: “Being a child and being sexual abused from the ages of 7 to 11, it affects you for your whole life.”
Specifically, parishes will pay $80 million into the diocese’s $150 million bankruptcy settlement, with the funds due to be paid into a trust by July 15.
The bankruptcy settlement, agreed to in principle on April 22, will resolve the five-year-long proceedings, which began in 2020.
Joe Martone, the Catholic communications director of the diocese, explained that the money would compensate victims in “approximately 891 cases” — making for “one of the highest caseloads in the country.”
Martone added, “There’s just a lot of anger toward the church about our past sins, and we could never apologize enough for what went on. We’re just trying to take care of this now and trying to move beyond bankruptcy and get settlement for these people. Not that it provides closure for them, but at least (they) get some recompense.”
All of the claims had been brought under the Child Victims Act, which was passed by the New York Senate and signed into law in 2019.
Indeed, the Child Victims Act extended the state’s former statute of limitations by granting a one-year look back for time-barred civil claims to be revived, giving survivors until age 28 to press charges for felonies and age 25 for misdemeanors, and allowing survivors up to age 55 to bring lawsuits.
Since 2002 — the year in which the U.S. Catholic bishops adopted their “Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People” — the nation’s Catholic dioceses have paid at least $5.6 billion in abuse settlements and related costs.
Luke 8:17 says, “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”
Texas is first state to build pro-life statue
On Tuesday, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed a resolution to build the Texas Life Monument, a statue honoring mothers and the their unborn children, reports The Daily Signal.
Abbott’s signature made Texas the first state to approve of a pro-life statue honoring mother and child on Capitol grounds.
GOP State Rep. Caroline Davila, co-author of the resolution, said, “The eight-foot bronze sculpture is modeled after the National Life Monument, which depicts a mother with her child in her womb—a powerful image honoring motherhood and the miracle of life.”
SpaceX rocket explodes in new setback to Elon Musk’s Mars project
One of Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starships has exploded during a routine test in Texas in the latest setback to the billionaire’s dream of turning humanity into an interplanetary species, reports The Guardian.
The Starship 36 underwent “catastrophic failure and exploded” at the Starbase launch facility shortly after 11pm on Wednesday.
A video showed the fiery explosion of the megarocket.
Worldview listener in Kansas says her 7 kids love it
I invited Worldview listeners to share what they enjoy about the newscast in 2-6 sentences by email. You can share your thoughts — along with your full name, city and state — and send it to [email protected]
Katie Link in Hutchinson, Kansas, said, “Hi Adam, my seven children -- Emily, Lizzie, Levi, Evie, Esther, Caleb, and Eowyn -- and I love listening to your podcast over lunch. I asked the children why they love and want to support The Worldview and they gave me many great reasons.
“We love that you use the Bible as proof text and that you share international stories of missionaries as well as local news. We also appreciate the happy stories and the calls to action with specific steps. And all of us, including the 1 and 2-year-old, love to loudly proclaim ‘Seize the day for Jesus Christ!’”
5 Worldview listeners gave $584.30 to fund our annual budget
And finally, toward our $92,625 goal by 12 midnight tonight Central Time, Friday, June 20th to fund three-quarters of The Worldview newscast’s annual budget for our 6-member team, 5 listeners stepped up to the plate.
We are grateful to God for Quinn in Mhlambanyatsi, Eswatini, Africa who gave $30 as well as Ronnie in Milano, Texas and Mike and Ginger in Jonesville, Virgina – both of whom gave $100.
And we appreciate the generosity of Tom and Jenn in Palmdale, California who gave $154.30 and Rick and Barb in Arlington, Washington who gave $200.
Those 5 Worldview listeners gave a total of $584.30.
Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect) $48,330 (People clapping and cheering sound effect)
Toward tonight’s goal of $92,625, we need to raise $44,295.
Will 56 Worldview listeners give $45,000 TODAY?
Let me make an editorial comment about the sacrificial gift of Quinn, our brother in Christ from Eswatini, Africa – formerly known as Swaziland. I looked up the average annual salary for someone in Eswatini. What’s your guess? How much do you think they make in an entire year?
The answer is just $2,974. The average American makes $63,795 per year. In other words, Quinn’s gift of $30 is the equivalent of an American giving $643. Wow! That puts Quinn’s gift in proper perspective.
I just finished reading the late Ann Kiemel’s 1976 book entitled I Love the Word Impossible. She had a disarmingly gentle way of talking with absolute strangers about the love of God which prompted many to profess faith in Christ, and inspired hundreds of thousands who heard her speak in person. Her 17 books sold 28 million copies.
On page 144, she wrote, “I love the word ‘impossible.’ It’s one of my favorites because I have a giant of a God inside of me.”
KIEMEL: “I come to tell you, I am just one young woman in the world. But I am one. And one plus a giant of a God can do anything!”
In the 10 years, I’ve been voicing this Christian newscast, we have never been further behind in our annual appeal. To man, raising $44,295 in one day seems absolutely impossible. But, you know what? Like Ann Kiemel, I, too, love the word “impossible” because I have a giant of a God inside of me.
Listen, if just 37 Worldview listeners pledged the approximate equivalent of what Quinn did from Africa and committed to give $50/month for 12 months for a gift of $600, God will have raised $22,200. And if another 19 of you pledged $100/month for 12 months for a gift of $1,200, God will have raised another $22,800. That adds up to $45,000. That would get us across the finish line to cover three-quarters of our annual budget for the 6-member newscast team by tonight, June 20th at 12 midnight Central.
These days, $50 is the cost of buying a family of four a combo meal at Chick-fil-A. Can you go without Chick-fil-A once a month to help fund this newscast for an entire year?
We’ve never raised $45,000 in one day. Never! But, with God, all things are possible. If you feel the Lord prompting you to be one of the 56 donors to pledge either $50/month for 12 months or $100/month for 12 months, go to TheWorldview.com and click on Give on the top right.
There were 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. We’re coming up on the July 4th 249th anniversary of that moment. We need 56 Worldview donors to step up today. Especially if you’ve never given to this ministry before. This is the day we need your help.
Who is getting fired up about making a sacrifice? It will ensure we can continue telling the truth about the news from a Biblical perspective -- complete with compelling soundbites, relevant Bible verses, and empowering action steps. Without a doubt, this is a one-of-a-kind Christian newscast. Will you back us today? Just 56 of you?
I am truly excited to return to the airwaves on Monday, June 23rd to report back to you about how God touched the hearts of at least 56 faithful listeners.

Christian Indonesian boy died after Muslim students beat him
An eight-year-old Christian boy died in Indonesia from a ruptured appendix on May 26th. This came days after older Muslim students beat him severely, sending him to the hospital.
Khristopel Butarbutar faced bullying for his faith leading up to his death. Morning Star News reports his father said, “A week before, he had been bullied a lot. The perpetrators speak about his ethnicity, his religion.”
Sadly, bullying at schools in Indonesia is escalating. There were 1,478 cases in 2023, up from 119 cases in 2020.
Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.”
United Kingdom decriminalized abortion up to birth
The U.K. House of Commons voted Tuesday to effectively decriminalize abortion up to birth in England and Wales.
The amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill ends the prosecution of women for getting an abortion at any stage of pregnancy. The measure must also pass in the House of Lords.
Catherine Robinson with Right To Life UK said, “This is the first time this extreme abortion amendment has been debated in the House of Commons, and there has been no consultation with the public on this seismic law change. We will be fighting this amendment at every stage in the [House of] Lords.”
Supreme Court upholds state's right to ban transgender surgeries for kids
In the United States, the Supreme Court upheld a Tennessee law yesterday that protects minors from transgender drugs and surgeries.
The high court ruled 6-3 in the case. The liberal dissenters were Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan. and Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Chief Justice John Roberts, who authored the majority opinion, wrote that the issue should be decided by the state. He said, “Having concluded that [the law] does not [violate the equal protection clause], we leave questions regarding its policy to the people, their elected representatives, and the democratic process.”
The ruling will also support 26 other states with similar laws to protect children from transgender drugs and surgeries.
Kraft/Heinz will cut artificial dyes from food
The Kraft Heinz Company announced Tuesday it will cut artificial dyes from its U.S. food products by 2027.
This comes after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced measures in April to phase out petroleum-based synthetic dyes from the nation’s food supply.
U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. said, “For too long, some food producers have been feeding Americans petroleum-based chemicals without their knowledge or consent. … That era is coming to an end.”
Daily Bible readers thrive more than non-daily Bible readers
The American Bible Society released the third chapter of its State of the Bible USA 2025 report.
The survey used the Human Flourishing Index from Harvard University which measures six domains of life, including satisfaction, health, purpose, character, and social relationships. The report found people who read the Bible every day scored 7.9 out of 10 on the index compared to 6.8 for those who never read the Bible.
Also, younger generations tend to have the lowest levels of flourishing. However, both Gen Zers and Millennials who engage regularly with Scripture scored an impressive average of 8.1 on the index.
Psalm 119:105 says, “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Old Nordic letters carved into Canadian bedrock spell the Lord’s Prayer
Archaeologists recently announced the meaning of centuries-old Nordic runes, or alphabet letters, that were carved into the Canadian bedrock, reports CBC News.
Ryan Primrose, the director of the Ontario Centre for Archaeological Education, has been studying the letters since their discovery in 2018.
He believes they were written by Swedes who were hired to work at trading posts in the Canadian wilderness in the 1800s.
The 255 characters of Nordic runes or alphabet actually spell out the words of the Lord’s Prayer in Swedish. They appear to come from a 1611 runic version of the prayer. The runes cover a square of about four feet by five feet and probably took weeks to carve.
Worldview listeners in Texas and California share their hearts
I invited Worldview listeners to share what they enjoy about the newscast in 2-6 sentences by email. You can share your thoughts — along with your full name, city and state — and send it to [email protected]
Christy Quinn in Grapevine, Texas said, “We love listening to The Worldview in 5 Minutes as a family. My 10-year-old says she enjoys hearing about Christians around the world, what they are doing to God's glory and how the world treats them. I enjoy the Biblical perspective on current events and politics including those sound bites. The intro music and your closing ‘Seize the day for Jesus Christ’ is a hit. My kids are excited to listen.”
Ben Duhem in Eureka, California said, “The Worldview helps my wife and I stay on the same page about certain topics and geopolitical events. I read dozens of articles every day and am extremely well-informed about current events, but I mostly carry the burden alone.
“I like to keep my wife and children in somewhat of a protective bubble to maintain their innocence, joy, and hope. When I share too much of what I read, my wife becomes very disheartened. She is busy homeschooling, gardening, cooking, and cleaning, all day, every day. So, she does not have time to read the news or process the political analysis that I used to try to distill for her.
“The Worldview is the one source of news she tries to make time for each day. It’s short and sweet. And she receives inspiration from the scriptures and calls to join in prayer. So, it’s the one source of news that she asks me about and we discuss and pray about together. It helps us stay bonded.”
3 Worldview listeners gave $849 to fund our annual budget
And finally, toward our $92,625 goal by this Friday, June 20th to fund three-quarters of The Worldview newscast’s annual budget for our 6-member team, 3 listeners stepped up to the plate.
We are so grateful for Michele in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, Canada who gave $25, Richard in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who gave $300, and Providence Associates in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia which gave $524.
Those 3 Worldview listeners gave a total of $849. Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect) $47,745.70 (People clapping and cheering sound effect)
Toward this Friday, June 20th’s goal of $92,625, we need to raise $44,879.30.
Remember, if you are one of the final 2 people who will give a one-time gift of $1,000, Scooter in Naples, Florida will match you with a corresponding $1,000 gift of his own.
If you believe in what we’re doing, if you look forward to reading the transcript or listening to the newscast, please go to TheWorldview.com and click on Give on the top right. Your gift will help us fund the 6-member Worldview newscast team for another fiscal year. Amen and Amen!

Nigerian Muslims killed 9 Christians
On June 1st and 2nd, Fulani Muslim herdsmen killed at least nine Christians in Plateau State, Nigeria, following the slaughter of 27 others days before, reports Morning Star News. The attacks took place in Bokkos County in predominantly Christian communities.
Emmanuel Auta, a local resident, said, “Christians [are] being butchered.”
Another resident, Lilian Madaki, said, “Among some of the Christian victims that I know is a 14-year-old Christian teenager who was shot and wounded and is currently being treated at a hospital.”
And, in a text to Christian Daily International, Yakubu Kefas wrote, “The attackers, who we believe are Fulani terrorists, are carrying out indiscriminate shootings, killings, and large-scale arson, resulting in widespread terror, Christian casualties, and destruction of property.”
Please pray for our suffering brothers and sisters in Christ in Plateau State, Nigeria.
Proverbs 21:15 says, “When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”
Trump bans new visas for foreign nationals from 12 countries
On June 4, President Donald Trump issued a full suspension on new visas for foreign nationals from a dozen countries applying for entry to the United States and a partial suspension on nationals from another seven, reports TheEpochTimes.com.
The proclamation is set to go into effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on June 9.
A full suspension will go into effect for nationals from Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
A partial suspension will affect nationals from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
This executive action comes after the Secretary of State and assistant to the president on Homeland Security filed a report on April 9 identifying countries with such deficient vetting and screening information that a full or partial suspension of entry for their nationals was warranted.
‘60 Minutes’ anchor Scott Pelley ripped for "angry, unhinged" speech criticizing Trump
Outraged critics blasted longtime CBS “60 Minutes” anchor Scott Pelley as “angry” and “unhinged” after he delivered a fear-baced tirade against President Donald Trump during a commencement speech in North Carolina, reports the New York Post.
The CBS newscaster warned Wake Forest University’s graduating class on May 19 that “insidious fear” has infiltrated schools, businesses, and homes across the nation — leaving America in a state of “peril.”
Listen.
PELLEY: “In this moment, our sacred rule of law is under attack. Journalism is under attack. Universities are under attack. Freedom of speech is under attack, and insidious fear is reaching through our schools, our businesses, our homes.”
Scott Jennings, the conservative commentator on CNN, called Pelley out for such a ridiculous statement.
JENNINGS: “On the free speech issue, I don't know what America Scott Pelley is living in. We have more speech now than ever. There is no problem with free speech in America. What we do have a problem with are people who don't speak truthfully, who are interested more in narratives than truth, and who are using what used to be journalism for activism. We do have a problem with that.”
Jennings asserted that 60 Minutes on CBS is a platform that is more interested in a leftist narrative than the truth.
JENNINGS: “If you've watched 60 Minutes for five minutes over the last several years, you would know it's not fair. This is one of the shows, this is one of the outlets that conservatives would point to most often to say: ‘This is the state of American journalism. It's only here to try to hurt Republicans, hurt conservatives, hurt Donald Trump.’”
Painting of Jesus returned to prominent location at naval academy
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has announced that he is restoring an historic painting of Jesus Christ to its place of prominence at the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, after it had been taken down by Biden-era officials, reports LifeSiteNews.com.
Known as “Christ on the water,” the painting depicts Jesus walking on the water in stormy seas toward merchant seamen adrift in a lifeboat, presumably after being torpedoed.
DUFFY: “We are moving Jesus out of the basement. To all the great midshipmen at the Merchant Marine Academy, you let me know how important this painting was to all of you. Now, we all know it was taken out of a place of prominence and put it down in the basement.
“I worked with the Academy, and because this is such a historic painting, I'm announcing that through that work with the Academy, this painting is going to go from the basement back to its place of prominence. It'll be a moment to celebrate.”
It was painted by Lieutenant Hunter Wood in 1944 as a tribute to all merchant seamen who had been torpedoed during World War II.
Actor Kevin Sorbo champions U.S. Christian heritage in new movie
In the new docudrama called The American Miracle, historian Paul Kengor, one of 14 historians, captures how pivotal the Declaration of Independence and the subsequent American Revolution was for the world.
KENGOR: “America in 1776: This is a watershed event in history. If you were to pick something over the last 450 years, four and a half centuries or so, that truly transformed humanity and the full scope of history, it was 1776.”
The American Miracle movie will hit 1,000 screens across America on three days only – Monday, June 9th, Tuesday, June 10th, and Wednesday, June 11th.
The actor who plays Benjamin Franklin – Barry Stevens -- is spot on in terms of appearance and disposition alike.
FRANKLIN: “We have been assured, sir, in the sacred writings, that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.”
Kevin Sorbo, who portrays the younger Thomas Jefferson, is an enthusiastic advocate that Americans know their own history.
SORBO: “I think there's not enough history being taught in America anymore. I think people forget about what our Founding Fathers did for this country. Documentaries like this, I think, can help heal a nation, as corny as that sounds. I really do think it's important to learn history.”
And Pastor Darnell Harper of New Covenant Temple, who screened The American Miracle before its June 9th national release, was amazed to witness God’s divine intervention in America.
HARPER: “I went to history class. I did not learn that God was in the middle of everything that was going on with the birth of our nation, the Constitution, and it just showed the handiwork of God and how God was establishing the United States of America.”
Acts 17:26 says, “From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole Earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.”
Go to https://americanmiraclemovie.com/, watch the trailer, click on the Tickets tab, and type in your zipcode to purchase tickets at a movie theater near you to see it on June 9, 10 or 11.
Pennsylvania Worldview listener wants to pray for persecuted believers
Gayle in Stewartstown, Pennsylvania wrote me at [email protected] and said, “I listen to The Worldview every day and continue to give monthly because I feel that the news is truthful and factual and not slanted. I’m grateful to learn about the different countries where preachers and citizens are being persecuted for their faith in Christ. It reminds me to pray daily for the persecuted church around the world. May the Lord continue to bless The Worldview in 5 Minutes.”

12 Worldview listeners gave $4,575 to fund our annual budget
Toward this week’s $30,875 goal to fund one-fourth of The Worldview newscast’s annual budget by tonight at 12 midnight, June 6th, 12 listeners stepped up to the plate on Thursday by 7:35pm Central last night.
Our thanks to Paul in Brush, Colorado and Ben in Eureka, California — both of whom gave $25 as well as Kevin in Freeport, New York and Robin in Wellington, Florida -- both of whom gave $50.
We’re grateful to God for Troy in Coeurdalene, Idaho, Rene in Chicago, Illinois, and Jeremy in Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom – each of whom gave $100.
And we appreciate the generosity of Marty in Roseburg, Oregon who gave $125, Jeff in Aloha, Oregon who gave $600, Lee and Ruth in Schertz, Texas who gave $1,000, Rita in Sunman, Indiana who pledged $100 per month for 12 months for a gift of $1,200, and Vern in Poteau, Oklahoma who also pledged $100 per month for 12 months for a gift of $1,200.
Those 12 Worldview listeners gave a total of $4,575. Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect) $10,927 (People clapping sound effect) We missed our goal of 20 donors by 8 donors.
That means by midnight tonight, Friday, June 6th, we still need to raise $19,948.
If you, and 19 other listeners, would invest $100 per month for 12 months to help underwrite the cost of the 6-member Worldview news team, we will have funded one-fourth of our annual budget. Help us reach this $30,875 goal.
However, if that’s not affordable, then do something. Even if you pledge just $10/month for 12 months, that’s a whopping $120! No gift is too small or too large as we continue to provide a news source that is accurate and Biblically based.
Just go to TheWorldview.com and click on Give on the top right. And click on the button that indicates a recurring donation if you want to give monthly.

Christian groups in India to speak out against persecution June 9
Christian groups across India are organizing a protest against persecution of Christians on Monday, June 9.
The National Christian Front noted, “Our Christian brothers and sisters are enduring brutal attacks and growing intolerance from anti-social elements. This is not merely a Christian issue — it is a grave concern for humanity, for peace, and for the values enshrined in our Constitution.”
Christians suffered over 600 incidents of violence and discrimination in India last year. The country is ranked 11th on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of most difficult places to be a Christian.

In the United the Kingdom, Christian groups are calling for a day of prayer on Wednesday, June 11 for protecting human life.
This comes as lawmakers are considering bills to legalize assisted suicide.
Listen to comments from Ciarán Kelly, director of The Christian Institute.
KELLY: “This is a crucial time for our country. So, it's vital that Christians are asking the God, Who made Heaven and Earth, that He would overrule in all these things, to protect vulnerable people from this careless and callous bill.”
In 1 Timothy 1:1-2, the Apostle Paul wrote, “I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
Trump overturns pro-abortion Biden rule
In the United States, the Trump administration rescinded a pro-abortion rule on Tuesday that came from the Biden administration.
The rule tried to force hospital emergency rooms to offer abortions even if the state restricted them.
Matt Bowman, Senior Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, said, “Doctors—especially in emergency rooms—are tasked with preserving life. The Trump administration has rolled back a harmful Biden-era mandate that compelled doctors to end unborn lives, in violation of their deeply held beliefs.”
Trump raises tariffs on steel imports
President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday to raise tariffs on steel imports.
The order doubles tariffs on steel and aluminum coming into the country from 25% to 50%.
The levy will affect steel exporters in Canada, Mexico, and many countries in Europe. However, the tariff on steel from the United Kingdom remains at 25% as the U.S. and U.K. work out a trade deal.
Dust from Africa’s Saharan Desert hits America
Over the weekend, a massive plume of dust made its way to Florida all the way from the Saharan Desert in Africa.
Such dust plumes are known as the Saharan Air Layer and typically cross the Atlantic each year.
The current plume is the biggest one to reach the U.S. so far this season. It measures nearly 2,000 miles wide and 750 miles from north to south.
The dust can diminish air quality but also creates spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
Only 1 in 100 Evangelical pastors leave ministry annually
A report from Lifeway Research found that only 1 out of 100 Evangelical pastors leave the ministry each year.
This low rate has remained steady for the last 10 years despite many pastors acknowledging their work is very demanding and even overwhelming.
Scott McConnell with Lifeway Research said, “The rate of pastors departing the pastorate is steady and quite low given the demands of the role. Many of those leaving the pastorate feel they are moving at God’s direction to another role of ministry.”
In 2 Timothy 4:2, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.”
The American Miracle movie shows God’s intervention in U.S.
The Left insists that there’s nothing special about America.
But a new docudrama contends that God inspired its founding. The American Miracle – Our Nation is No Accident hits the silver screen in 1,000 theaters nationwide for 3 days only -- Monday, June 9th through Wednesday, June 11th.
Inspired by Michael Medved’s bestseller, this exciting, entertaining, and edifying motion picture experience was created in anticipation of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. ‘
Medved appeared on The 700 Club.
MEDVED: “America is no accident. All of our most important leaders, from Washington to Lincoln to Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt -- all of our leaders have understood that America has a divine purpose.”
Consider God’s protection of George Washington – the Father of our Country -- in a ferocious battle in 1755 during the French and Indian War. During the Battle of Monongahela, 69 of 70 officers were either killed or wounded. Washington was the only officer who was not shot off his horse. In fact, two horses were shot from underneath him. Yet he lived. Even a Native American chief later said they couldn’t touch Washington.
Shockingly, after the battle, he found numerous bullet holes in his jacket and bullet fragments in his hair, but he was miraculously unscathed. No wonder they called him “Bulletproof.”

Worldview listener in Florida speaks up
On Wednesday, I was delighted to receive 23 emails at [email protected] about what listeners enjoy about this newscast.
Amy Cool from St. Cloud, Florida wrote, “I like that I can trust The Worldview newscast to report the truth from a Biblical perspective. I like the Scriptures referenced as they pertain to a particular story because it shows the relevance of the Bible to our life today. That’s often hard for people to see when they haven't grown up in a home where the Bible was read or explained.”
14 Worldview listeners gave $1,420 to fund our $123,500 annual budget
Toward this week’s $30,875 goal to fund one-fourth of The Worldview newscast’s annual budget by this Friday, June 6th, 14 listeners stepped up to the plate on Wednesday by 7:15pm Central last night.
Our thanks to Grace in Duncanville, Texas, Greg in Rochester, New Hampshire, Andy in Santa Barbara, California, and George in Carrollton, Missouri – each of whom gave $25.
We also appreciate Jalynn in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Jon in Granger, Indiana, and Steven in Jacksonville, Florida – each of whom gave $50.
We’re grateful to God for Nancy in Peabody, Massachusetts, Kevin in North Bend, Oregon, and Robert in Plano, Texas – each of whom gave $100.
And we appreciate the generosity of Paula in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana who pledged $10/month for 12 months for a gift of $120, Dawn in Troy, Montana who gave $150, Amy in Seminole, Texas who gave $300, and Dawn in Smithville, Texas who pledged $25/month for 12 months for a gift of $300.
Those 14 listeners gave a total of $1,420. Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect) $6,352 (People clapping sound effect) We missed our goal of 20 donors by just 6 donors.
That means by this Friday, we still need to raise $24,523.
Whether it’s Thanksgiving or Christmas, we churn out a weekday broadcast 52 weeks per year. It’s a commitment we’re glad to make, but we need help to cover the cost.
Would you prayerfully consider investing $100 per month for 12 months into this ministry, helping to pay for the work of the six-member Worldview team? If 20 of you made that pledge we would hit our Friday, June 6th goal one day early.
Just go to TheWorldview.com and click on Give on the top right. And click on the button that indicates a recurring donation if you want to give monthly.
Thanks for investing your resources into this media ministry that champions the truth. Our plumbline is Jesus Christ Himself.

Christians persecuted in Mali, Africa by military junta
Christians are facing increased persecution in Mali after the military junta initiated a crackdown in May.
The military of the West African nation dissolved all political parties in the crackdown. Jo Newhouse with Open Doors Sub-Saharan Africa said, “Christians in Mali have faced increasing persecution over the past few years. By closing the democratic space, and further encroaching on civil liberties, the junta is adding unwelcome pressure to an already volatile situation.”
Please pray for the church in Mali, Africa. The country is ranked 14th on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most difficult places to be a Christian.
Ukrainian evangelist: Thousands coming to Christ
A Ukrainian evangelist addressed the European Congress on Evangelism in Berlin, Germany last Thursday.
Evangelist David Karcha reported that Ukrainian Evangelicals have been ministering to their fellow countrymen since Russia invaded the country in 2022. Churches are seeing thousands of people come to Christ during the war.
Karcha said, “In the world's eyes, Ukraine is a story of war. But in God's eyes, it is a story of revival, a story that reminds us all that the Gospel advances.”
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds … and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.”
American economy predicted to grow by only 1.6% this year
The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development cut its economic growth outlook for the United States.
The group forecasts the U.S. economy will expand by 1.6% this year, down from its previous forecast of 2.2%. Experts also expect global economic growth to slow this year in the wake of U.S President Donald Trump’s tariff policies.
They also noted, “trade uncertainty and economic policy uncertainty has reached unprecedented levels.”
Dept of Ed. shuns homosexual pride month, celebrates Title IX month
To its credit, the U.S. Department of Education is not celebrating homosexual pride month in the month of June. Instead, the Trump administration is recognizing June as “Title IX Month.”
Title IX of the Education Amendments was signed into law by President Richard Nixon on June 23, 1972. It prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs. However, the Biden administration tried to inject transgender protections into the law.
Under Trump’s Education Department, the administration is promising to protect women’s and girls’ sports from such transgender activism.
Muslim immigrant used flamethrower on peaceful pro-Israel group in CO
An immigrant, motivated by anti-Semitic beliefs, has been accused of brutally attacking a peaceful pro-Israel group advocating for Israeli hostages held captive by the Muslim terrorist group known as Hamas, reports The Blaze.
Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national in the United States despite reportedly overstaying his visa, is suspected of attacking a group of individuals participating in a walk in Boulder, Colorado at 2:00pm on June 1st.
According to CNN, he allegedly used a makeshift flamethrower and Molotov cocktails to set people on fire at an event in support of hostages in Gaza as he yelled “Free Palestine.” He injured at least 12 people. The victims ranged in age from 52 to 88 years old, including a Holocaust survivor.
The U.S. Attorney General’s office has charged Soliman with a hate crime.
The attack targeted the “Run for Their Lives” group, a grassroots organization that gathered on Pearl Street on Sunday evening to support the release of the hostages captured by the terrorist group in October 2023. According to the FBI, the Jewish group chapter gathers weekly.
Maya Bajayo is the organizer of the “Run for Their Lives” group.
BAJAYO: “We're here only to raise awareness for the hostages. It makes it even more scary for us that it could have been us.”
Amazingly, Bajayo, who has been leading the walk for 83 Sundays straight, refuses to stop walking despite the threat of violence. She explained why to Channel 9 News.
BAJAYO: “To show people that we're still here, the problem hasn't been solved, and the hostages need to be released. We're just not going to give up on them.”
Oklahoma Governor: "Life begins at conception.”
During June, Oklahoma is celebrating a “Month for Life.”
Republican Governor Kevin Stitt signed the proclamation Monday. He wrote on X, “Life begins at conception. We’re committed to supporting moms every step. And God has a plan for every life.”
The proclamation encouraged citizens to join the Oklahoma March for Life on Saturday, June 7.
10th anniversary of Supreme Court’s pro-homosexual marriage ruling
The U.S. Supreme Court handed down its Obergefell v. Hodges decision 10 years ago on June 26, 2015. The infamous ruling requires states to recognize same-sex unions as marriages.
A new survey from Gallup found that 68% of U.S. adults support faux same-sex marriage, up from 60% in 2015. However, that support has plateaued over the last five years.

18 listeners gave $4,202 to fund The Worldview newscast
Toward this week’s $30,875 goal to fund one-fourth of The Worldview newscast budget by this Friday, June 6th, 18 listeners stepped up to the plate.
Our thanks to Joshua in Bolivar, Missouri who gave $30 as well as Rachelle in Longview, Washington, Margaret in White Salmon, Washington, Jeremy in Swansea, Wales in the United Kingdom, and Karena in Eugene, Oregon – each of whom gave $50.
We appreciate Dick in Hoyt, Kansas, Hannah in San Jose, California, David in Plano, Texas, Adam in Gile, Wisconsin, and David in Crestview, Florida – each of whom gave $100.
We’re grateful to God for Hannah in Green Valley, Arizona who gave $132,Genevieve in Wheat Ridge, Colorado who pledged $20/month for 12 months for a gift of $240, Kristen in Columbia Falls, Montana who gave $250, and Luis and Patricia in Kyle, Texas who pledged $25/month for 12 months for a gift of $300.
And we appreciate the generosity of Steven in Coatesville, Pennsylvania who gave $350, James in Cardiff, Wales in the United Kingdom who pledged $50/month for 12 months for a gift of $600, Patricia in Winfield, Iowa who gave $700, and Larry and Sue in Crooked Creek , Alberta, Canada who pledged $75/month for 12 months for a gift of $900.
Those 18 listeners gave a total of $4,202. Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (Drum toll sound effect) $4,932 (People clapping sound effect)
That means by this Friday, we still need to raise $26,873.
We missed our goal of 20 donors on Tuesday by only 2 donors. In order to hit our goal by this Friday, June 6th, we need to raise $8,957 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Toward that end, I wonder if there might be 4 Worldview listeners who could give $1,000. Another 8 who would pledge $50/month. And 12 more who would pledge $25/month. That would enable us to raise $11,800 on Wednesday. Maybe we can hit 20 donors today.
Go to TheWorldview.com and click on Give on the top right. Click on the button that indicates a recurring donation if you want to give monthly.

Indonesian boy killed for his Christian faith, Abortion Kill Pill creator died at 98, Polish voters elect conservative president

Indonesian boy killed for his Christian faith
An 8-year-old Indonesian boy in the Seberida district was killed for his faith in Jesus on May 19th, reports International Christian Concern. Indonesia is an 87% Muslim country.
The boy, publicly named as K.B., was beaten to death by five older Muslim boys.
Pastor Piet, of the GPDI Solagracia church where the family worshipped, remembers him as a child who was “diligent in Sunday school, often participating in Bible quizzes, and often winning.”
His father said, “He was my first child. My second child is a girl. He was a good and strong child. He dreamed of becoming a soldier. I used to want to become a soldier, but I didn’t. That’s why I wanted him to become a soldier.” Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”
Polish voters elect conservative president
After a national election over the weekend, Poland will join a growing group of Western nations moving to the right of center -- more nationalistic, more supportive of traditional values, and more opposed to the internationalism of the day.
A former boxer and historian, Mr. Karol Nawrocki, won the presidential election by a close vote of 50.9% to 49.1%. Nawrocki had been endorsed by President Donald Trump.
Nawrocki quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14, stating that God would “heal the land” if they would “turn away from wicked ways, reports the Associated Press.”
The conservative edge in Poland has stood firm against pro-abortion policies and pro-European Union trends over the last five years. That will appear to continue with the Nawrocki administration.
Poland will join the United States, Argentina, Hungary, and Italy, as nations that have moved in a conservative direction over the last few election cycles.
GOP Senate fiscal hawks balking at price tag of Trump’s Bill
President Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Federal Spending Bill is heading to the U.S. Senate. But several Republican senators are balking at the price tag, including Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Josh Hawley of Missouri, reports Liberty Counsel Action.
GOP Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin is proposing that at least $838 billion be cut from federal spending to reduce government expenditures from 23.3% to 20.6% of the gross national income. This would reduce government to the relative size of the economy in 2019 before the COVID crisis. In other words, Senator Johnson is simply requesting that government be reduced to pre-pandemic levels.
Presently, the Congressional Budget Office is estimating that President Trump’s Big Beautifull Bill will add another $22 trillion to the $37 trillion of federal debt — putting the U.S. debt at 134% of the Gross Domestic Product by 2035.
Japan and United States have weak bond auctions The leading Keynesian governments in the world are having a hard time getting people to fund their debt.
Japan’s bond auction yielded the weakest demand since the 2010 recession. The U.S. bond auction last week was extremely weak, resulting in 30-year bond interest to bump up to 5.15% — the highest rate since 2007.
Ukrainian drone attack took out one-third Russian’s long-range bombers
Ukraine dispatched a drone attack deep into Russia, hitting some key military sites over the weekend.
The bombings have reportedly taken out more than one-third of Russia’s long range bombers, crippling Russia’s nuclear capabilities.
Homosexual pride marches have lost up to 50% of sponsorship
The licentious elements of society are celebrating their pride month in June.
Slate.com reports a reduction in corporate sponsorships of the homosexual/transgender pride marches in the U.S. Some have lost 40-50% of the corporate monies they have received in previous years. Plus, companies like Comcast, Anheuser-Busch, and Smirnoff have dropped Pride sponsorships altogether.
The firm Booz Allen Hamilton pulled sponsorships, referring to the president’s executive orders -- one of which prohibits the U.S. government from contracting with companies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The World Pride event is taking place in Washington D.C. this year, the first time in the United States since the New York City event in 2019.
The larger sponsors of homosexual/transgender Pride events like World Pride include Hilton, Delta Airlines, Amazon, IKEA, Verizon, Corona, Fresca, and Starbucks.
Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Kroger are also supporting homosexual events this year. 1 John 2:16 and 17 speaks of lust and pride. It says, “All that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
Focus on the Family targeted for affirming God’s design for sexuality
Focus on the Family is being targeted by the Southern Poverty Law Center for its opposition to homosexual behavior and gender transition for youths.
The leftist group was particularly outraged with Jim Daly’s more recent interviews of Rosaria Butterfield, and an interview of Walt Heyer and Kathy Grace Duncan. These were Christians who have repented of sins of homosexual behavior and transgenderism.
The Southern Poverty Law Center has been notorious for conflating Christian groups with Neo-Nazi and racist groups in the United States, and promoting persecution of Christians. Other ministries on their list include Family Research Council, Liberty Council, Coral Ridge Ministries, Alliance Defending Freedom, and Generations.
Abortion Kill Pill creator died at 98
A French scientist, responsible for the deaths of 50 million babies, himself died last week at 98 years of age.
Étienne-Émile Baulieu was instrumental in the development of the abortion kill pill, RU-486, in 1980.
About half of abortions in developed nations have been conducted by the abortion pill since the 2010s. Today, chemical abortion accounts for 63% of all abortions in America.
The BBC reports that French President Emmanuel Macron, called Dr Baulieu "a beacon of courage" and "a progressive mind who enabled women to win their freedom."
6 Worldview donors gave $730
And finally, toward this week’s $30,875 goal to fund The Worldview newcast by this Friday, June 6th, six listeners stepped up to the plate.
Our thanks to Daniel in San Luis Potosí, Mexico who gave $5, Kimberly in Sacramento, California who gave $25, and Deborah in Cosmopolis, Washington who gave $50.
We’re also grateful to God for Keith and Marsha in Morgan, Colorado who gave $100, Genita in Bardstown, Kentucky who gave $250, and Frances in Beacon, New York who pledged $25/month for 12 months for a gift of $300.
Ready for our total? Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect) $730 (People clapping sound effect)
That means by this Friday, we need to raise $30,145. I received an intriguing text from a friend in Michigan. She suggested that I ask if someone would prayerfully consider underwriting half of our entire budget. That would be $61,750. Or perhaps you could cover the $30,145 that we need to raise this week.
But, alas if those big dollar amounts are not remotely possible, every $25 and $50 donation gets us incrementally closer to being fully funded.
Just go to TheWorldview.com and click on Give on the top right. I would love to see 20 people make donations on this, our second day. Consider making a monthly pledge by clicking on the recurring donation tab.
Let’s see what the Lord will do as The Worldview in 5 Minutes proclaims the truth in a world of pagan-biased news.

Pakistan passes law that prohibits to curb child marriage
On May 30th, despite fierce opposition from Islamist groups in Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari signed into law a landmark bill to curb child marriage, setting the minimum age for marriage for both genders at 18 years, reports Morning Star News.
Opposition included the Council of Islamic Ideology, which declared that classifying marriage under the age of 18 as rape did not conform with Islamic law.
The bill says that any man over 18 who marries an underage girl could face up to three years of rigorous imprisonment. Specifically, the bill states, “Living with a child under 18 in a marital relationship will be considered statutory rape.”
Sherry Rehman, who introduced the bill in the Senate on May 19 after its passage in the National Assembly on May 16, described the legislation as a crucial step toward protecting the rights of women and children.
Typically, kidnapped girls in Pakistan, some as young as 10, are abducted, forced to convert to Islam, and raped under cover of Islamic “marriages” and are then pressured to record false statements in favor of the kidnappers,
15 percent more Scottish mothers aborted their Down Syndrome babies
Public Health Scotland revealed there were 18,710 abortions in Scotland in 2024, the highest number on record, reports Right to Life UK. This represents an increase of 468 abortions.
Plus, there was a 15 percent increase in the number of babies with Down’s syndrome who were aborted. Worse yet, since 2021, the number of babies with Down’s syndrome who were aborted has increased by 81 percent.
In 2024, 41 percent of abortions in Scotland were repeat abortions.
In Psalm 139:13 and 16, David tells God, “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. … Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.”
Elon Musk’s return to the private sector
Elon Musk announced on social media that he is leaving his role in the Trump administration, reports The Guardian.
Spearheading the Department of Government Efficiency, Musk helped to cut $175 billion in waste, fraud, and abuse. Plus, D.O.G.E. helped to cut nearly 12 percent, or 260,000, of the 2.3 million-strong federal civilian workforce, largely through threats of firings, buyouts, and early retirement offers.
After receiving a gold key from President Trump on Friday in the Oval Office, Musk said this.
MUSK: “This is not the end of D.O.G.E., but really the beginning. My time as a special government employee necessarily had to end. It was a limited time thing. It's 134 days, I believe, which ends in a few days. But the D.O.G.E. team will only grow stronger. I'm confident that we will see a trillion dollars of savings. So, I look forward to continuing to be a friend and advisor to the president, continuing to support the D.O.G.E. team.”
Musk’s political activities have drawn protests and some investors have called for him to leave his work as Trump’s adviser and manage Tesla more closely.
Kennedy Center VP fired over speaking truth about homosexuality
A prominent pro-Trump Christian says he was fired from his role as vice president of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. just because he refused to renounce his belief that marriage is between one man and one woman.
Floyd Brown, the founder of Western Journal, had been recruited about a month ago to serve as the performing arts center’s vice president.
He has spoken bluntly of his biblical understanding about God’s design for our sexuality.
BROWN: “Homosexuality is a punishment that comes upon a nation that has rejected God. They're debasing themselves and their humanity.”
Leviticus 18:22 states: "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination."
Floyd accused Kennedy Center President Ric Grenell, a homosexual who is in a so-called “marriage” to a man, of being intimidated by a CNN hit piece that highlighted what the news network called Brown’s “anti-gay” rhetoric.
Kentucky state legislator abandons sinking Democratic Party
Kentucky state Sen. Robin Webb has become so disenchanted with the Democratic Party that she became a Republican, reports The Western Journal.
She said, “While it’s cliché, it’s true: I didn’t leave the party — the party left me.”
She added, “As the Democratic Party continues its lurch to the left and its hyperfocus on policies that hurt workforce and economic development in my region, I no longer feel it represents my values. It has become untenable and counterproductive to the best interests of my constituents for me to remain a Democrat.”
YMCA's pro-transgender policy endangers girls
Do you know what YMCA stands for? Young Men’s Christian Association.
These days, there’s nothing Christian about the YMCA’s woke, gender-confused policy at overnight camps.
Last Wednesday, the American Parents Coalition urged parents to “beware” that the YMCA allows boys, pretending to be girls, in girls’ spaces like overnight cabins, locker rooms, and showers, reports The Daily Wire.
Plus, the YMCA may not inform parents of their perverted policy which rightly raises privacy and safety concerns.
The Worldview needs to raise $123,500 by Monday, June 30th
And finally, during the month of June, The Worldview newscast team is looking for financial partners to help fund the next fiscal year for a total of $123,500
That would cover the cost for the six of us to research the stories, write them, voice them, track down the audio clips, and upload the newscast on multiple platforms for another 365 days.
What does The Worldview newscast mean to you? Email me your thoughts in 2-4 sentences including your name, city and state, and country if outside America. Send that to [email protected].

Christian burials denied in Odisha State, India
In mid-May, villagers in Odisha State, India opposed the burial of a deceased Christian, reports International Christian Concern.
Their claim? A Christian funeral would defile the gods and the land of the village. Sadly, authorities were unable to convince villagers to allow the burial, and the body was taken to another location.
Although Christian burials have long been denied in India, these denials are increasingly occurring as a method of persecuting Christians in Odisha State.
Three independent investigations conducted in Odisha between March and April pointed to an alarming rise in the number of Christians denied burial rights. The investigations concluded that the absence of state laws allocating burial land for Christians has enabled the trend.
FBI investigates leaked Dobbs Supreme Court ruling
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced Monday that he and FBI Director Kash Patel are going to “re-open” an investigation into the consequential 2022 leak of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, reports Life News.
On May 2, 2022, Politico published a draft of a Supreme Court opinion, authored in February by Justice Samuel Alito, in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The official ruling was not released until June 24, 2022.
The draft opinion made it evident that the Supreme Court was all but certain to rule in favor of the Mississippi pro-life law at the center of the case. A majority of justices on the Supreme Court were prepared to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision and the 1992 Planned Parenthood v. Casey decision which had extended broad federal legal protections to the practice of abortion.
Politico cited a “person familiar with the court’s deliberations” to confirm that Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett had already voted in favor of Alito’s opinion following oral arguments in December of 2021, yielding a five-justice majority to strike down Roe and Casey, as the pro-abortion precedents are known.
Pro-abortion activists made clear that they intended to target pro-life pregnancy resource centers and Catholic parishes in response to the Dobbs leak. Indeed, more than 100 pro-life centers and churches were firebombed, smashed, ransacked, or vandalized with pro-abortion graffiti and threatening messages, reported Fox News.
Then, five weeks after the Dobbs leak, but before the official ruling was announced, a man flew from California to D.C. with the intention of going on a killing spree. His target? The pro-life Supreme Court justices. Nicholas Roske went to Kavanaugh’s house first located in Montgomery County, Maryland. He was armed with a pistol and equipped with gear to break into the justice’s house undetected.
Appeals court paused block of Trump’s retaliatory tariffs
A federal appeals court granted the Trump administration’s request to temporarily pause the Wednesday ruling of the U.S. Court of International Trade which struck down most of President Donald Trump’s tariffs, reports CNBC.
The judges of the trade court had found that the 1970s-era law Trump had invoked to enact those tariffs, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, does not “confer such unbounded authority” to presidents.
The nationwide, permanent block they imposed covered all of the retaliatory tariffs that Trump issued in early April as part of his sweeping “Liberation Day” plan to reshape international trade with the rest of the world.
Without a doubt, the Wednesday ruling destabilized a pillar of Trump’s economic agenda.
Illinois House approves physician-assisted suicide bill
And finally, on Thursday, the Illinois House narrowly passed a controversial physician-assisted suicide bill (SB 1950 Amendment 2) by a vote of 63 to 42, with two members cowardly voting “present,” reports the Illinois Family Institute. Oddly enough, 11 state representatives did not cast a vote on the legislation.
David Smith, the Executive Director, prayed this prayer on a video which was shared with fellow Christians.
SMITH: “I pray, Lord, that many of these lawmakers who are on the fence would choose to err on the side of life and not on death. Lord, I pray that your people would rise up throughout the state of Illinois. I pray that many church leaders would speak up and let their state lawmakers know that this is unacceptable. Illinois should never accept or normalize suicide!”
At its April 2025 annual meeting, the Illinois State Medical Society overwhelmingly voted to oppose legalizing physician-assisted suicide.
This decision reflects the stance of most Illinois doctors against prescribing lethal medications. They took an oath to do no harm and certainly not to provide the means for their patients to end their lives.
If you live in Illinois, send an email to your State Senator here.
Scripture tells us that every person is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), and thus each life holds immeasurable value. Moreover, Exodus 20:13 records this command: "Thou shall not murder."

Christianity growing in Asia despite persecution
International Christian Concern reports that Christianity is growing in Asia despite severe persecution.
In 2024, there were 415 million Christians in Asia, making up 8% of the continent’s population. That’s up from 3% in 2010. Since 2020, Christianity’s growth rate in Asia has been 1.6% per year.
The church is growing in Communist, Buddhist, and Islam-dominated countries like China, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Myanmar.
All this growth continues despite persecution in the from of harassment, anti-conversion laws, restrictions on Bibles, arrests, imprisonments, and even violence and murder.
In 2 Corinthians 4:8-10, the Apostle Paul wrote, “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed . … persecuted, but not forsaken … always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
50% of kids in United Kingdom do not live with both biological parents
Research from the Marriage Foundation found that nearly half of children in the United Kingdom do not live with both of their biological parents.
The report showed a record 45% of teenagers are not living with both parents by the age of 14.
This trend is not driven by divorce which is at its lowest level since 1970. Instead, family breakdown is driven by a collapse in marriage rates.
Harry Benson, the Research Director for the Marriage Foundation, said, “The level of family breakdown in the UK is at epidemic proportions and is set to get worse.”
French House voted to legalize assisted suicide
France’s National Assembly voted in favor of a bill to legalize assisted suicide on Tuesday.
The measure allows adult patients with painful and incurable illness to take a lethal substance.
The bill must also pass in France’s Senate.
Matt Vallière, the Executive Director of the Patients’ Rights Action Fund, warned, “The French National Assembly cast a fateful and terrible vote that will put a great many at risk of deadly harm and discrimination under an unprecedented euthanasia regime.”
Proverbs 12:10 says, “The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.”
Supremes declines case of Christian kid’s t-shirt affirming 2 genders
In the United States, the Supreme Court declined to hear a free speech case Tuesday.
The case involves a Massachusetts public school student named Liam Morrison. In 2023, he wore a T-shirt to class that said, “There are only 2 genders.” In response, the school banned him from wearing the shirt. The Morrison family challenged the decision; however, the courts ruled against them.
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito authored a dissenting opinion to the court’s decision to not hear the case. He said the free speech case “presents an issue of great importance for our Nation's youth.”
Listen to viral comments from Liam, the boy at the epicenter. He made them before his school board.
MORRISON: “What did my shirt say? Five simple words. ‘There are only two genders.’ Nothing harmful, nothing threatening. Just a statement I believe to be a fact.
“I have been told that my shirt was targeting a protected class. Who is this protected class? Are their feelings more important than my rights? …
“Not one person, staff or student, told me that they were bothered by what I was wearing. Actually, just the opposite. Several kids told me that they supported my actions and that they wanted one too.”
Defense Secretary Hegseth affirms homeschooling for military families
Earlier this month, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the department to review how well it supports homeschooling for military families.
The directive follows an executive order from President Donald Trump on supporting school choice in the military.
Hegseth wrote, “Homeschooling offers an individualized approach for students and highlights the significant role parents play in the educational process.”
Liberal Presbyterian Church (USA) keeps losing members
The Presbyterian Church (USA) lost nearly 50,000 members last year according to its latest report.
The liberal denomination has been losing a similar number of members each year since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their unbiblical stands have cemented their own demise. In 2014, it voted to allow pastors to marry two homosexual men or two lesbians. Plus, PC(USA) contends that there should be no laws restricting abortion.
At its current rate of decline, the PC(USA) will likely fall below one million members this year.
Protestors harass Christians promoting Biblically-defined family, sexuality
And finally, MayDay USA held a prayer event in Seattle, Washington last Saturday.
The group gathers Christians to seek God, proclaim the Gospel, and promote the “sacredness of gender and family as defined by God.”
In response, violent rioters, including Antifa members, showed up to harass the Christians. This ended in police making over 20 arrests.
Sadly, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell blamed the Christians for the violence.
In response, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced, “We have asked our team to fully investigate allegations of targeted violence against religious groups at the Seattle concert. Freedom of religion isn’t a suggestion.”

Somalian Muslim man trusts Christ and is kicked out of home
A young Muslim man in Somalia was kicked out of his home recently after converting to Christianity.
The 20-year-old struggled with substance abuse and had not been home to see his Muslim parents for months. That’s when an underground pastor shared the Gospel with him. The young man came to Christ and gained freedom from drug use. After going home, however, his parents drove him away because of his new faith.
The young convert told Morning Star News, “Now that I have loved [Jesus], I do not have a family standing with me. I do no not know what to do. I need prayers.”
Please pray for this brother in Christ in Somalia, Africa. The country is ranked second on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of most difficult places to be a Christian.
In Matthew 19:29, Jesus said, “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.”
French Muslim youth vandalizing Catholic churches and assaulting Catholics
The European Conservative reports there have been a string of attacks on churches in France recently which have received little attention from the mainstream media.
In one case, Islamic youths insulted a Catholic priest and threatened to set the church building on fire earlier this month.
Days earlier, another group disrupted a parish meeting in the same area.
Muslim attacks on Catholics have included vandalism, physical assault, and kidnapping.
Supremes split decision result: OK religious charter school unfunded
In the United States, the Supreme Court delivered a split decision last Thursday in a case involving religious education.
Previously, Oklahoma’s charter school board had approved funding for St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School. It would have been the country’s first publicly-funded religious charter school.
However, Oklahoma’s Supreme Court blocked the school. And the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 4-4 in the case, leaving the lower court ruling in place.
For some reason, conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett recused herself from the case.
Defense Secretary Hegseth: "King Jesus, we come humbly before You."
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth led a prayer meeting at the Pentagon last Wednesday. Listen to his opening prayer.
HEGSETH: “If you would bow your head in prayer.
“King Jesus, we come humbly before You, seeking Your face, seeking Your grace, in humble obedience to your law and to Your Word. We come as sinners, saved only by that grace, seeking Your providence in our lives and in our nation.
“Lord God, we ask for the wisdom to see what is right, and in each and every day, in each and every circumstance, the courage to do what is right in obedience to Your will.
“It is in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that we pray. And all God's people said, Amen. Thank you.”
The voluntary 30-minute prayer meeting was called “Secretary of Defense Christian Prayer & Worship Service.” Hegseth said it may become a monthly event.
Colossians 4:2 says, “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.”
Planned Parenthood to close 8 abortion mills in Iowa and Minnesota
Last Friday, Planned Parenthood North Central States announced it will close eight locations across Iowa and Minnesota over the next year.
Planned Parenthood blamed the closures on states passing anti-abortion laws as well as a freeze on federal funding for abortion.
The closures will also involve laying off 66 staff members.
CDC no longer recommends COVID-19 shot for pregnant women & kids
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will no longer recommend COVID-19 shots for pregnant women and healthy children.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made the announcement yesterday.
KENNEDY: “Hi everybody. I’m Robert F. Kennedy, Jr, your HHS Secretary. And I’m here with NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty MaKary.
“I couldn't be more pleased to announce that, as of today, the COVID vaccine for healthy children and healthy pregnant women has been removed from the CDC-recommended immunization schedule. Last year, the Biden administration urged healthy children to get yet another COVID shot, despite the lack of any clinical data to support the repeat booster strategy in children!
BHATTACHARYA: “That ends today. It's common sense and it's good science.”
MAKARY: “There's no evidence healthy kids need it today. And most countries have stopped recommending it for children.”
KENNEDY: “We're now one step closer to realizing President Trump's promise to make America healthy again.”
Lawmakers want to launch “Natural Family Month”
Republican lawmakers in Ohio are considering a bill to celebrate families.
The measure would designate the weeks from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day as “Natural Family Month.” The timeframe goes from the second Sunday in May to the third Sunday in June.
This contrasts with Homosexual/Transgender Pride Month when many celebrate sexually perverted lifestyles in June.
1,500-year-old Christian graves in Israel discovered
And finally, archaeologists recently uncovered 1,500-year-old Christian graves in Israel’s Negev Desert.
The graves reflect Christian burial practices. Inside, archaeologists found rare ebony figurines depicting individuals with African features.
Researchers wrote, “It is possible that the deceased were of ‘Ethiopian’ origin, and that they, or their ancestors, converted to Christianity and moved to the Negev.”
The figurines were made out of ebony wood sourced from India or Sri Lanka and likely carved in Africa before being brought to the Negev.
Researchers believe it is the first time they have discovered such artifacts in the region of Israel and Jordan.
