385: A Final Recap // Why Do These Nine Principles Even Matter? [The SAM Framework]

Episode 385

vendredi 30 août 2024Duration 18:33

Here we are! It's the final day of our two-week-long series on how to become more peaceful, confident, and happy in motherhood.  I have loved this series, and it's also been a ton of work--more work than I had anticipated! (Though I don't know why I didn't anticipate that airing a podcast episode every weekday for two weeks 🫨 would be a huge challenge. Sometimes things sound easy before you do them, and that was definitely the case with this series!) But, despite the hard work, I'm so glad I persevered to give you a little deep dive into each one of my nine principles of Self-Assured Motherhood. My goal for every woman who listens to my podcast or participates in my SAM program is this: I want you to feel more fully yourself as a result of the work that we do together - more deeply accepting of who you are and more able to nurture the best that's already within you, instead of wishing you could be different or "better."   Friends, if you want to do this work with me, I hope you will join my Self-Assured Motherhood program, which opens for enrollment on Monday, September 9th. *** Announcements: Self-Assessment for Moms: Click here to download my FREE self-assessment to go along with each of the 9 principles we'll be discussing through the mini-series. **Everyone who downloads this assessment will receive a special discount for SAM! AND, one lucky mama will get SAM for FREE!** Self-Assured Motherhood Program: Doors to SAM will be opening soon! Join the waitlist! 384: Principle #9 // Support Their Struggles [The SAM Framework]

Episode 384

jeudi 29 août 2024Duration 14:27

My kids are headed back to school soon, and they will be doing all sorts of assessments to see how they're doing in math and reading and writing. And this got me thinking: I need to do a series of mini-podcast episodes during this back-to-school season for moms to assess how they are doing, not with balancing equations or diagramming sentences (because I have a feeling most of us would fail those assessments 🥴), but to assess something way more important: our own levels of emotional wellbeing. Just like last week, this week, Monday-Friday, I will be publishing a mini-episode to introduce you to each of the principles I teach in my Self-Assured Motherhood course, a framework I created for overwhelmed moms. Each principle is an important part of emotional well-being and can help you in your personal assessment of how you're doing. Today's principle is: Support Their Struggles. As you go along with this mini-series, you can use this self-assessment I've created to visually assess how you're doing in each of the principles we discuss. I hope you find this mini-series helpful as you take time to consider your own emotional well-being. I'm rooting for you! 375: 3 Ways Voicing Your Values will Help Lighten your Mental Load // Rachel Nielson on the Happy Mom Summit

Episode 375

lundi 12 août 2024Duration 34:49

The mental load of motherhood is heavy, and I am always on the lookout for ways to lighten it.  Can you relate?  A surprising discovery I’ve made throughout the years is how dramatic a difference knowing and voicing our values can make in lightening our mental load as moms. When we know ourselves well enough to know our core values, we are able to decrease stress and pressure and build up the structure and support that we need.  Knowing our core values is key to avoiding mom burnout!  I was really grateful to have the opportunity to discuss this at the Happy Mom Summit with JoAnn Crohn. In the interview, I discussed 3 ways knowing our values can help lighten our mental load, and I’m so excited to share them with you today. I absolutely loved being part of the Happy Mom Summit. I hope you find these takeaways helpful in lightening the mental load of motherhood!  *** Announcement: Values Guide Workbook: Discover your personal values with my helpful and FREE Values Guide Workbook! 286: Take a deep breath before you respond [Hidden Gem]

jeudi 20 avril 2023Duration 15:01

Announcement: I’m so excited to announce that I am finally turning my Declutter Your Motherhood workshop into an online workshop that will be available for purchase in the next month or so. if you want to get on the email list to stay up-to-date on when the course will be released and all the details to come, all you need to do is text the word WAITLIST to 33777 *** For this week’s Hidden Gem, I wanted to re-air a takeaway from Episode 38 with Tony Overbay about how to maintain positive relationships with our teenagers. What I love about this interview is that his takeaways apply to parents with kids of all ages. It’s easy to talk about wanting to be a safe place for our kids, but how do we actually do that? Are we prepared for them to tell us things that are uncomfortable to hear? Tony shares things we can start when our kids are little that will help when they’re teenagers, OR things we can tweak and start doing now if your children are already into their teens. Tony Overbay is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist and host of the Virtual Couch podcast. Tony works with a lot of teenagers in his private practice and it has given him the opportunity to, in turn, work with a lot of parents to help interactions with their kids become more productive and positive.  To hear the rest of this episode, or for the Show Notes, visit: https://3in30podcast.com/teenagers/ Click below to listen on The Website Apple Podcasts  Spotify

282: You Don't Have to be Good at Something for It to be Worthwhile [Hidden Gem]

Episode 282

jeudi 6 avril 2023Duration 11:04

Announcment: I’m so excited to announce that I am finally turning my Declutter Your Motherhood workshop into an online workshop that will be available for purchase in the next month or so. if you want to get on the email list to stay up-to-date on when the course will be released and all the details to come, all you need to do is text the word WAITLIST to 33777 *** Welcome to Hidden Gems, a special series of the 3 in 30 podcast. This week, we are sharing an excerpt from Episode 174, Why to Try a Creative Hobby (Even if You Think You’ll Stink at It) with Lisa Funk. Lisa is the founder of HandLettered Design and mother of four. She has struggled with depression and anxiety and has discovered a variety of tools that have helped her reclaim her happiness and her mental health, namely through creativity and hand lettering.  I love how this takeaway goes along with Alli Roper’s episode that aired on Monday about why to continue learning as a busy mom, and that your brain is not mush. I knew I wanted to air this takeaway from Lisa as more encouragement that creating and learning just for fun is so important. We want that for our kids, and this takeaway gives you permission to want that for yourself as well. And while Lisa focuses on creating with your hands, I believe you can apply it to reading, writing, listening to a podcast, or learning or creating in any way that brings you joy. I hope this excerpt gives you encouragement, permission, or even a laugh as she talks about her love and commitment to dance parties at home, not because she’s particularly good at dancing, but solely because dancing is FUN.  To hear the rest of this episode, or for the Show Notes, visit https://3in30podcast.com/why-to-try-a-creative-hobby-lisa-funk/ Or click below to listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
