Minisode 1 - Living in Surrender
vendredi 15 septembre 2023 • Durée 09:29
I'm getting real, raw & honest with you in this first mini episode; it has been an immensely difficult Season in life and it has been too long since I last published. I wanted my first episode back to be an transparent reflection of some of the learning I have been downloading in the hard spaces.
I'm sharing what has been happening in my life, and once again, a lesson I learned with my 2-year-old (my kids have always been my greatest teachers!)
What does it mean to 'Winter', what do we do when we are in the darkness and what is it all for? I share my insight in hopes that this is helpful for those of you also finding yourself in a Winter.

Beauty from the Inside out with Bend Beauty Founder Marc St-Onge
mardi 19 juillet 2022 • Durée 54:56
This episode is the last episode in our 1st Season, so a huge Thank You to all of you who have tuned in with me for these first 6 episodes! It has been a dream come to life to share and learn what I am most passionate about, and to do so alongside each of you. Prepare your hearts for Season 2, which will pick up again this Fall 2022!
Now, as for this episode which is all about beauty, you are in for a treat. We are talking beauty from the inside out with Marc St-Onge, Founder & CEO of Bend Beauty.
Marc is an absolute gem of a human being and such a brilliant mind! In this episode we:
- Discuss & challenge what the actual definition of beauty is
- Ask the question: What does it mean to live a beautiful life?
- Learn about the dermal matrix and how free radicals and UV cause our skin to “age”
- Learn why carotenoids zeaxanthin and lutein are not just amazing for our eyes, but our skin as well
- Break down collagen to better understand it's structure, how the Bend Beauty Marine Collagen + Cofactors is hydrolyzed, what hydrolyzed means in the context of collagen, and what it actually does in the body
- Learn why sulforaphane is so incredible and how it behaves in the body
Marc and has dedicated more than 20 years of his life to research in the health & wellness space. I found our very refreshing to know there are brands that exist that are steeped in quality and dedicated to efficacy, because I think we all know the supplements and the beauty industry are each incredibly saturated and determining which products are the "real deal" can be difficult even for someone who is very discerning.
I hope enjoy this episode and take away something impactful to better your health and feel even more beautiful, from the inside out!
Ready to give Bend Beauty products a try? Use code GRETCHEN20 at checkout and received 20% off your first order! Stock up, because you will be obsessed! My can't-live-withouts are the Strawberry Marine Collagen + Co-Factors Powder which I love in my water (but I also love adding the Coconut flavour to my coffee!) and I won't go a day without my Renew + Protect Mini Softgel. And of course you can't miss out on the opportunity for a guilt-free chocolate indulgence, so be sure to add a few Beauty Bars to your order!

The Hormones Episode with Matty Lansdown
mercredi 1 juin 2022 • Durée 37:57
This episode is for my sisters out there! We are jumping into the complex topic of women's hormones with Australian scientist, functional nutritionist and health coach Matty Lansdown who focuses his work on weight loss and self confidence for professional women and busy mothers.
I have found there to be a giant knowledge gap in understanding the complexity of women's hormones and menstrual cycle, which is a problem as hormones dictates SO much of how female bodies operate. I love Matty's work and how he is helping women dissect this topic to give us a sense of empowerment over our bodies, letting us be in the driver seat of our well-being.
In this episode we cover which weeks in our cycle we can push our fasting windows out (if that is something we do or ant to experiment with), allowing a greater hormetic stress to the body during these times, and which weeks in our cycle we must be more cognizant of stressors to body for optimal well-being.
We discuss thee role of eating fats as it pertains to weight loss/management (spoiler alert: I'm a big fan of! The good ones, of course) as well as insulin and breakdown the idea metabolic flexibility.
Matty hosts his own podcast called “How to NOT Get Sick and Die’, where he shares weekly insights in relation to current developments in the world of health, nutrition and human optimization, offering the latest advice on how your diet and lifestyle can directly affect your energy, focus, self confidence and overall well being.

Welcome to The Goodness
mercredi 9 février 2022 • Durée 02:35
It has been a long time coming, and exactly the right time altogether. I have been dreaming this podcast into existence for years and have so much that I cannot wait to share with you - so many beautiful conversations to have and SO MUCH GOODNESS awaits!
I find today more than ever, we can easily feel bombarded by the cruel reality of the world we live in. This is a place to be reminded of the Goodness that still exists within each of us and the world around. To take hold of a promise that beauty is everywhere, if you’re looking and ready to receive it.
We’re going to be discussing mental health, pregnancy & natural birth as well as raising conscious children.
We’ll learn about child development and thee concept of unschooling.
We’ll talk clean beauty & cosmetic injectables.
We’ll discuss what it actually looks like to live sustainably.
How to grow food hydroponically, and how to use food as medicine.
I want to discuss what’s happening with alternative therapies for treating chronic disease.
As you can see, I’m casting a wide net but I think you’ll like where we’re going, after all we’re multifaceted, aren’t we?
I’m so honoured to take you on this journey with me and I know we won’t be the same at the end.
Welcome to The Goodness by Gretchen Martin.
