Beyond the Surface: Vulva Health & Awareness
Saison 4 · Épisode 1
vendredi 6 septembre 2024 • Durée 37:30
Welcome back to season four of Menopause Uprising Podcast. Today our first guest is Clare Baumhauer.
In 2016, Clare was diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosus and stage 3 Vulval Cancer after being misdiagnosed for 38 years. With no prior knowledge of either condition, she became determined to raise awareness and advocate for better healthcare responses. Following 6 years of remission, their cancer returned in April 2023, along with dVIN (pre-cancer). After surgery, clear margins were obtained for the cancer, but not for the dVIN, leading to close monitoring.
As an advocate, she represents patients with Lichen Sclerosus and vulval cancer, serving on the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network and PAVE group. Clare co-founded Lichen Sclerosus & Vulval Cancer UK Awareness and runs the largest support group for these conditions with over 10,000 members. She also raises awareness through social media and contributes to online learning for healthcare professionals.

Kathleen's research on the use of the internet for endometriosis diagnosis and treatment has further established her reputation as a knowledgeable and dedicated advocate. Feeling Fabulous in Menopause
Saison 2 · Épisode 6
vendredi 13 octobre 2023 • Durée 57:21
Today you are in for a treat on the Menopause Uprising Podcast! I have my good friend, Aoife Dunican known as "The Style Bob" on Instagram. Aoife set up her styling business in August 2020 having spent nearly 15 years working in marketing including a great stint in the people department for a global professional services firm which gave her an excellent insight into how men and women tell their story. Aoife has always been intrigued at what makes people confident and the role our image and clothes plays in this.
Have you ever had a special pair of shoes when you were a kid that made you feel 'Fabulous?' Our conversation today is all about bringing fabulous back into our wardrobe and how important it is for us to be wearing clothes that fit our body type. Sometimes we can lose our way in menopause regarding our style and settle for the 'handy' option, but this doesn't have to be the case! Today on the Menopause Uprising Podcast Aoife shares some valuable ways we can feel fabulous again! Enjoy!

Menopause in the Workplace with ESB
Saison 2 · Épisode 5
vendredi 6 octobre 2023 • Durée 33:15
Welcome back to another episode of 'Menopause Uprising' with me, Catherine O'Keeffe. Menopause in the workplace. It is, pardon the pun, a really hot topic in Ireland at the moment. It actually is the world over. Ireland is certainly leading the conversation, which is brilliant. And I have been really privileged to work with one of the forerunners in Ireland, which has been the ESB. Today, I'm joined by Laura Duff and Brian Samson from the ESB.
Brian talks about how his own understanding of menopause has grown immensely over the last 18 months due to the Menopause Program. The symptoms are wide-ranging and can profoundly affect women's daily lives, especially when combined with workplace pressures.
A crucial aspect of the Menopause Program at ESB is normalizing the conversation in the workplace and helping both women and men better understand this phase of life.
This episode underscores our ongoing commitment to shedding light on menopause in the workplace. I hope you enjoy!
