S3. E24 Should Christians use GLP-1 medications?05 Aug 202600:15:24

Should Christians take GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, or Mounjaro? In this episode, we're diving into a biblical perspective on these increasingly popular weight-loss medications. Rather than giving a one-size-fits-all answer, we'll explore how to seek the Holy Spirit's wisdom, discern God's direction for your health journey, and ensure that Christ—not any tool—remains at the center of your confidence, healing, and identity.

What You'll Learn:

  •  Why GLP-1 medications are a tool—not a savior
  •  How to discern whether a GLP-1 is right for your unique situation
  •  The difference between quieting food noise and healing your relationship with food
  •  Common risks and limitations of GLP-1 medications
  •  Questions to prayerfully ask before making a health decision
  •  How to pursue health in a way that brings glory to God
  •  Why your confidence and identity should always be rooted in Christ

S3. E23. 1 John Series: The one area you haven't fully surrendered to God29 Jul 202600:18:07

Have you invited Jesus into every part of your health journey? ...or just the parts you're comfortable giving Him?

In today's episode, we're exploring 1 John 2:20-23 and talking about the hidden places where we often keep Jesus at arm's length. Maybe it's the scale. Maybe it's calorie tracking. Maybe it's body image. Maybe it's control. Whatever "room" you've kept locked, Jesus isn't asking to condemn you—He's asking to lead you.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • Why healing your relationship with food starts with surrender—not another nutrition plan.
  • The difference between asking Jesus to bless your plans versus letting Him lead them.
  • How control keeps us from experiencing God's best.
  • Why obedience matters more than sacrifice.
  • How to recognize the areas of your life you've been reluctant to surrender.

S3. E14. Mercy over macros: What God actually desires13 May 202600:08:54

So many women are stuck in cycles of restriction, over-exercising, food guilt, and striving — believing they’re “disciplining” themselves or stewarding their bodies well. In this episode, Abbie unpacks Hosea 6:6 — “For I desire mercy, not sacrifice…” — and explores the difference between self-imposed suffering versus true obedience to God.

You’ll learn:

  •  Why extreme discipline does NOT impress God
  •  The difference between punishment and partnership
  •  How to discern if your health habits are producing good fruit

S1. E26. Do we treat the body too harshly? (feat. water in the rock)29 May 202400:14:34

Sometimes we do things in the name of "health" and we think we are doing a good thing, something right by our bodies... but in reality, we are treating the bodies too harshly. How often do we lash out on our bodies and take out our frustrations by starting a restrictive meal plan, an excessive exercise plan or inflicting ourselves with negative self-talk? Sometimes we are so focused on the result, that we'll do anything to the body to reach it... even if that means being disobedient to God and treating our temples harshly.

In today's episode, we are walking through the story of the Water in the Rock in Numbers (because Abbie is in her Moses Era!!!). We hope this resonates with you and encourages you to treat your body with love, care, and respect - no matter how trying the situation is!

What looks like "healthy" can turn harmful... especially when "sweating for the wedding!" With Abbie's wedding coming up this month, we are kicking off May with an episode where she is joined by former client turned friend, Lauren Brafford, who vulnerably shares her journey from an eating disorder, body obsession, and control in her bridal era… to true freedom in Christ! This conversation is a testimony of God’s healing power and a reminder that you are not too far gone—freedom is available to you too.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  •  Why healing doesn’t mean the thoughts go away—and what to do instead
  •  The powerful mindset shift: you don’t control the first thought, but you DO control the second
  •  How Lauren broke free from “sweat for the wedding” pressure and body obsession
  •  What disordered eating actually looked like behind the scenes
  •  How Sabbath, rest, and nourishment became part of her healing
  •  The truth about weight gain in recovery (and how to navigate it)
  •  How to replace lies with truth using Scripture
  •  Why God’s timing in healing is slow on purpose—and FULL of grace
  •  The role of faith-based counseling in lasting freedom

S3. E11. Too busy to eat? That's the problem.22 Apr 202600:09:06

Feeling too busy to eat lunch? That might not be a time problem—it might be a trust problem. In this episode, we’re reframing mealtimes as moments of consecration—time set apart for the Lord—and why skipping meals is actually pulling you into self-reliance instead of dependence on God. Anchored in Leviticus 20:7, we’re diving into what it really means to be set apart and how that applies to your daily rhythms.

When you choose to pause, nourish your body, and invite God into your meals, you’re not falling behind—you’re positioning yourself for supernatural strength, clarity, and provision. You’re not too busy to eat… you’re too busy NOT to.

In This Episode, You’ll Learn:

  •  What “consecration” actually means and how it applies to your meals
  •  Why skipping meals is rooted in self-reliance, not discipline
  •  How taking a lunch break is an act of trust and surrender
  •  The connection between nourishment, productivity, and God’s presence
  •  How mealtimes can help reduce overeating and emotional eating
  •  Why God’s design for your body includes rhythm, rest, and refueling

S1. E4. Striving for thinness: A modern day idol22 Nov 202300:15:33

In our society, it is so normalized to do anything in our power to strive for a thinner body because it is believed that our thinnest self is our best self (which isn't true). This believe usually leads us taking disordered action in the name of "health" ... but these disordered eating & exercise habits are actually unhealthy (and put us more at risk for developing an eating disorder).

And this striving for thinness and making that our main goal is taking us further from the Lord because we are chasing after a number on the scale more than we are chasing Him. We end up putting greater importance in how we look over our relationship with God.

S1. E3. The call to be childlike: How it relates to hunger15 Nov 202300:16:22

In this week's episode we relate our call to be childlike & having a childlike faith to getting back in touch with our hunger cues. When we were children, we ate intuitively... but along the way diet culture has infiltrated our lives and disrupted our hunger/fullness cues and the trust we've had with our bodies.

Just as Christ calls us to be like a Child to get into the kingdom of Heaven, we are also called to return to how we used to eat as children. And if we practice this... we will be like a weaned child, perfectly content (Psalm 131)!

S1. E1. Jesus models how we should be eating (feat. Feeding the 5,000)08 Nov 202300:15:28

In this week's episode we cover John 6:5-14 where Jesus feeds the 5,000! In this verse, Jesus models for us how we should approach eating in a Godly, Biblical way.

S1. E2. Breaking away from diet culture is Biblical08 Nov 202300:14:24

This week we are covering how breaking away from diet culture is Biblical through a study of Colossians 2:20-23! This verse outlines for us that the food rules we follow in today's society may have the appearance of wisdom, but ultimately lead to more harm towards the body and a continuation of the restrict-binge-guilt cycle.

Learning how God wants us to approach eating instead in Colossians chapter 3 (which we also highlight in this episode) will help you to break away from diet culture and start the journey of healing your relationship with food!

S3. E7. Overcoming negativity bias in your health journey25 Mar 202600:14:05

“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.” — Genesis 1:31 Before moving on, God paused. He looked. He declared it good. So why do we struggle to do the same?

In this episode, we’re talking about negativity bias — our brain’s tendency to fixate on what’s wrong — and how it impacts our relationship with food, our bodies, and our progress.

What You’ll Learn:

  •  What Genesis 1:31 reveals about God’s character
  •  How negativity bias shapes your health journey
  •  Why celebrating small wins accelerates growth
  •  A practical way to retrain your brain this week

S3. E6. The dangers of "clean eating"18 Mar 202600:14:44

"Eating clean" may sound healthy and righteous... but is this language leading to more guilt and shame, harming our relationship with food?

In Acts 10, Peter has a vision where God tells him, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” While this passage carries powerful implications about inclusion and the Gospel, it also dismantles something many of us still cling to today: labeling food as morally good or bad.

In this episode, we’re unpacking the subtle danger of “clean eating” language — and how it may be harming your relationship with food more than helping it.

What You’ll Learn:

  •  What Acts 10 really teaches us about food
  •  Why “clean eating” language can increase food anxiety
  •  How labeling food impacts your brain and behavior
  •  A healthier, more biblical way to approach nourishment

S3. E5. When Jesus breaks your food rules11 Mar 202600:14:28

In John 5, Jesus heals a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years — and then tells him to do something shocking: “Pick up your mat and walk.” The problem? It was unlawful to carry your mat on the Sabbath.

Why would Jesus ask him to break a religious rule? Because obedience to Christ will always matter more than man-made regulations.

In today’s episode, we’re talking about how following Jesus may challenge your food rules — the ones that once made you feel safe. Whether it’s “no carbs after 7,” tracking everything you eat, or believing you have to earn your food through exercise, the Holy Spirit may gently invite you to do something different.

And that invitation can feel uncomfortable. But freedom often does. If you’ve ever felt tension between your faith and your food rules, this episode will help you discern the difference between Spirit-led conviction and fear-based restriction.

What You’ll Learn:

  •  Why Jesus sometimes disrupts rule-following
  •  How food rules can masquerade as discipline
  •  The difference between wisdom and fear
  •  How to discern the voice of the Holy Spirit in your health journey

S3. E22. 1 John Series: How to rest in God's presence (instead of striving for peace)22 Jul 202600:17:35

Do you ever feel like you're constantly busy and spiritually exhausted?

In today's episode, we're diving into 1 John 3:18-20 to uncover one of the most overlooked keys to peace: intentionally creating space to rest in God's presence.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • What it means to "set our hearts at rest in His presence."
  • Why faith requires intentional actions—not striving.
  • How busyness can crowd out intimacy with God.
  • Practical habits that help cultivate a quieter, more peaceful life.
  • Why condemnation is often an invitation to spend more time with Jesus.

S3. E4. Managing ADHD as a Christian (feat. Caroline Falwell)04 Mar 202600:35:09

If you’ve ever felt like a “bad Christian” because you can’t stick to a Bible plan… if your morning routine starts strong and fizzles out… if you feel frustrated with your brain and ashamed of your inconsistency — this episode is for you. We cover how to manage ADHD as a Christian, so you can partner with God instead of fighting your brain!

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Today I’m joined by Caroline Falwell, who helps Christians navigate ADHD through a faith-based lens. We talk about what it looks like to stop fighting your brain and start partnering with God in it.

ADHD isn’t a spiritual failure. It’s not a lack of discipline. And it’s certainly not proof that you love Jesus less. What if it’s actually an invitation to deeper dependence?

In this episode, you’ll learn:

• Why ADHD can actually increase your dependence on God (and why that’s a gift)
• How to release shame around inconsistent quiet times
• Practical ADHD-friendly morning routine tips
• What to do when you forget to eat (especially on medication)
• Why all-or-nothing thinking is keeping you stuck
• A flexible “component meal prep” idea for ADHD brains
• How to create proximity to your priorities (without perfectionism)
• The difference between consistency and rhythm
• How to invite God into your day beyond a 20-minute devotional
• Why external accountability can be a game-changer

This conversation is full of grace, humility, and practical tools you can start using immediately.

If you’re struggling to nourish your body consistently, manage cravings, or feel stuck in all-or-nothing thinking around food, I would love to support you.

S3. E3. Why “cheat days” are spiritually harmful25 Feb 202600:11:15

When we call eating certain foods “cheating,” we may think it’s harmless—but Scripture shows us that cheating and unfaithfulness are never neutral. Jesus calls us to faithfulness of heart, not just behavior, and that includes how we relate to our bodies.

In this episode, we explore why “cheat day” language subtly reinforces shame, secrecy, and self-betrayal—and how God invites us into a more integrated, honest, and life-giving way of eating.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  •  Why “cheat day” language mirrors spiritual unfaithfulness rather than stewardship
  •  How moralizing food splits us into obedience vs. indulgence
  •  Why shame thrives in secrecy—and freedom thrives in integrity
  •  How covenant with God includes how we care for our bodies
  •  What it looks like to eat with gratitude, trust, and wholeness instead of rebellion
  •  How reframing your language can renew your mind and heal your relationship with food

If you’re ready to step out of the restrict–rebel cycle and into a more faithful, freeing approach to eating, I’d love to walk with you.

S3. E2. Do you crave sweets after eating?18 Feb 202600:14:44

If you always want a lil sweet treat... this episode is for you! This episode will help you decode your cravings (without shame)!

Jesus reminds us that we do not live on bread alone—but on every word that comes from God (Matthew 4:3-4). That truth matters not only for our spiritual lives, but also for how we understand our bodies. Sometimes, even after a full meal, we still crave something sweet—and that doesn’t mean we’ve failed or lacked self-control. Often, it means something deeper (at a soul-level) is asking for attention.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  •  Why cravings are not sinful, but often informative
  •  Common physical reasons you may want something sweet after eating
  •  How underfueling, imbalance, restriction, dehydration, or eating too fast can play a role
  •  When cravings are about dopamine, comfort, or pleasure—not hunger
  •  How to build a “dopamine menu” so food isn’t your only source of enjoyment
  •  Why dessert isn’t the problem—but expecting food to meet every need is

If you want help learning how to listen to your body while staying rooted in Scripture, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
