| Episode 180: Finding a Balance of Feminine and Masculine Energy at Work | 14 Nov 2024 | 00:19:04 | |
Regardless of gender, everyone brings a mixture of feminine or masculine energy. Some people lean on one more than the other. Masculine energy is described as “doing” and acting based on logic, knowledge, results, and reason. On the flip side, feminine energy is defined as “being,” acting based on intuition and emotions. Words that often describe masculine energy include confrontation, aggression, and control, whereas words related to feminine energy include oversensitive and co-dependant. So, you can see how these energies aren’t actually tied to a gender—a woman can be aggressive and a man can sensitive. Neither of these energies are wrong. In fact, there are several benefits to both. But it’s about finding a balance at work. In episode 180 of the Your Brilliant Difference Podcast, Finka shares a personal workplace story where, during a particular situation, there was a dominance in masculine energy and how leaning on her feminine energy as a Brilliant Difference created a meaningful change her workplace needed. Suddenly, people were more comfortable, had open communication, and shared their vulnerabilities, building trust and strong relationships. Remember, both energies are good, but consider: which should you bring at work? Apply this to situations as you experience them. Welcome to episode 60. In today's episode, we're going to talk about an exercise I took our SFL Accelerator members through a couple of weeks ago. It's something that we do every quarter where we spend a couple hours, practicing and learning sales skills and learning how to do them more authentically so they feel good and easy. Selling is a skill. It's not something that we always know how to do. For some it comes a little bit more naturally and for the rest of us, it's about learning how to do it better. And we do this through practice. One of the skills that we were looking at during our skill builder sessions is refining and positioning. We discussed how to describe our value proposition and we had really good discussion around this whole idea of competition, and what can we call it instead of our competition. What’s your competitive edge? What makes you different? I’ll take you through this exercise on today’s episode! Specifically, here’s what you will learn:

Welcome to episode 58. In today's episode, we're going to talk about planning. In our Sell From Love Accelerator program, we are in the process of Q2 planning. We’re talking about our goals, commitments, intentions, what we want to create, who we want to be, and what impact we want to make in the world. I want to talk about the importance of goal planning and how to create a plan that feels easy and doable, and at the same time, something that you can get excited about. We'll also talk about how you can create goals and commitments in a way that you don't forget about them. What is that thing that stands in the way? Why do we make all these big, bold ambitions and all of a sudden, they land by the wayside? I'll give you a couple of tips on what are the things that you want to be mindful of and keep top of mind as you're creating your plans.

| Episode 56: How to get your brain to do scary stuff | 05 Apr 2022 | 00:18:34 | |
Welcome to episode 56. Today want to continue the conversation from our last episode with Tara Heaton. In this episode, I explore a little bit deeper around how our brain helps us and how it hinders us from putting ourselves out there and doing some of those sales activities that can be a little bit scary. I talk a bit about our old brain’s function on keeping us safe and anchored in certainty and about our new brain’s function that thrives on novelty and likes trying new things. I will take you through a personal example of how I made continuous improvements towards a goal and I talk about how to navigate through that fear, doubt and uncertainty so that you could get your beautiful work out there.
Specifically, here’s what you will learn:
What are you going to do to help you move forward on your project on your idea on your business?

| Episode 55: How your Brain can Help you Sell More with Tara Heaton | 29 Mar 2022 | 00:40:43 | |
Welcome to episode 55. Today I have Tara Heaton, the founder of En Pointe Communication is joining me on this episode. Tara created this consulting business by applying her years of neuroscience research to her years of leadership, sales and presentation experience. Her clients are purpose-driven leaders, speakers and salespeople who are looking to improve their ability to influence teams, audiences and prospects. Before En Pointe, Tara worked for 23 years in sales, sales management and as vice-president of sales for a $400M+ national corporation. Interestingly and quite tragically, Tara’s daughter was struck with a rare virus in 2005. What ensued was a lifetime of seizures that have caused gradual and significant brain damage. This catapulted Tara into a lifelong, mono-maniacal study of the brain as it relates to memory, human behavior, habit and function. These years of study, paralleled with Tara’s devotion to the art and sport of communication, inspired her Talk To The Brain platform. With an eBook, speeches, workshops and coaching, Tara teaches strategies and techniques based on the neuroeconomics of what delights and influences the minds of audiences in today’s noisy world. On this episode Tara and I talk a bit about her daughter, her experience and how she navigated through all of it. We also talk about the brain, how it holds us back from selling and how our brain is wired to help us actually get better results.
Specifically, here’s what you will learn:

Welcome to episode 49. I don’t know about you, but I love to learn. I love books, podcasts, courses – pretty much anything that can teach me how to be better. But what I’ve discovered is that learning comes with a double edge sword. It’s something that helps propel you forward, while at the same time it holds you back. This past week in our SFL Mastermind we’ve been talking a whole lot about taking courses and when is the right time to upskill and increase your capability in a specific area. Upgrading your knowledge and skillset is important. However, when you are making these kinds of investment decisions – when they from fear you will find yourself spinning in a vortex of overwhelm and spending endless dollars into programs that are not right for you or timely for where you are at in your business.
In this episode we’ll explore:

| Episode 48: This ONE Thing Will Propel Your Business and Leadership to Exponential Results. | 07 Dec 2021 | 00:33:51 | |
Welcome to episode 48. How often have you discounted, or devalued a characteristic, skill, or something different or unique about you? Or have you had an inkling of a talent or ability that came somewhat easily to you only to dismiss it as nothing special and that everyone else must also do this thing you do with the same ease and flow. Or even better, you’ve got this unique ability, and you push it to the side saying you want it to look this way or to be more of that or be more like him or her? I know I have more times than I’d like to admit. But what if this thing you have, is the thing you are here to bring to life and to the world to add value, bring good and make a positive impact. I talk a lot about stepping into your Brilliant Difference and using that to propel your business and leadership. Last week I had an experience that I need to share with you. It was so powerful, validating, and transformational that I want to offer it to you as an inspiration point as you look at who you are, who you want to be, where you are going and what you want to do in this life and business of yours. This was also somewhat of a spiritual experience. I haven’t stopped thinking about since it happened and throughout the whole experience, I viscerally felt like I was being given something special and sacred. It was a gift and I excited to give it back to you. Here’s what you will learn in this episode:
