The Truth About Trauma: Dr. Lisa Collins on Breath, Body, and Breaking Free
10 Sep 2026
01:06:58
Some conversations rewire the way you understand your own body. This is one of them.
Hannah sits down with Dr. Lisa Y. Collins — trauma practitioner, author of The Truth About Trauma, TEDx speaker, playwright, medium, and college professor — for a conversation that started with a chance encounter on a plane and became one of the most personal and expansive episodes of Yes You Can to date.
If you've ever felt "irritable for no reason," carried a weight you can't quite name, or wondered why your body reacts before your brain catches up — press play.
Episode Summary
Dr. Lisa Y. Collins didn't set out to write a book about her own healing. She was studying trauma to help other people — until, in the middle of a course, she noticed she'd stopped breathing. Then she took the ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) quiz and, in her words, "failed."
That double-take became the beginning of a 20-year journey that turned into The Truth About Trauma: Break Patterns, Build Resilience, and Restore Joy — a part-memoir, part-practical-guide that Hannah calls one of the few books she's ever read that answers "just tell me what to do."
In this conversation, Lisa and Hannah go all the way in. They talk about what trauma actually is (a body-based response to danger, real or perceived — not just one catastrophic event), the difference between little-t and big-T trauma, and the six kinds of trauma most of us don't have language for: individual, collective, participatory, historical, cultural, and dignity violations, plus secondary trauma from witnessing someone else's pain.
Lisa walks Hannah through her healing framework — body, mind, spirit — and then gets into the specific tools inside the book.
They get into hypervigilance — a story about Lisa taking her granddaughter to church that a lot of survivors will recognize immediately. They get into generational trauma through the perfect metaphor of the deep freezer (you'll understand once you listen — and Hannah's own family story about her Oma and Opa escaping Poland during WWII lands right in that thread). And they get into racial trauma, why Lisa deliberately didn't put it in the book — "because you have to heal your foundational traumas first" — and how it ties to gender, sexual identity, and every other identity we carry into rooms not built for us.
Toward the end, Hannah opens the floor to listener questions submitted through her DMs: what to do about sudden flashbacks (Hannah shares her own — related to how her mom died in 2014), how to work through dreams, and how to think about therapy when talk therapy hasn't landed. Lisa's answer, again and again, comes back to the body first, then the mind, then the spirit — and the reminder that community, attunement, and a soft gaze can be more healing than any single technique.
About Dr. Lisa Y. Collins
Dr. Lisa Y. Collins, EdD is a trauma healing coach, racial wellness expert, author, playwright, medium, and Assistant Professor at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She is a certified STAR (Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience) trauma practitioner and a widely respected voice on healing from personal, generational, and systemic trauma.
Her book The Truth About Trauma: Break Patterns, Build Resilience, and Restore Joy (Llewellyn Publications, 2025) is part memoir and part practical guide, laying out her three-step body-mind-spirit framework alongside the specific tools she has used with clients — and on herself — over two decades of practice. Her TEDx talk, Healing from Racial Trauma, has been viewed thousands of times and is widely used in racial-healing curricula. She also writes on Medium and Substack, offers 1:1 coaching, group work, and spiritual sessions, and has recently stepped into playwriting with her work Hwy 8 featured at Portland's Fertile Ground Festival of New Works.

Movement, Mental Health, and Becoming a Global Coach with Monica Marczuk
09 Jun 2026
01:09:48
What do you do when your master plan falls apart on day ten?
If you're Mon Marczuk, you stay anyway. You figure it out. You go from fired Emirates cabin crew in a city where you know absolutely nobody, to building a four-year career as one of Dubai's most respected cycling and strength coaches — and then you leave all of it behind to go nomadic, because something in you knows it's time for the next chapter.
In this episode, Mon and Hannah dig into what it actually looks like to build a global coaching career from the ground up — the delusional goal, the plan that didn't survive contact with reality, and the quiet, grounded confidence that carried her through anyway.
EPISODE SUMMARY
Monica Marczuk — Mon — is a global ride and strength coach currently based in Brussels, Belgium, where she holds a residency at ANIMO alongside House of Ride. Originally from Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Mon spent four years coaching cycling and Barry's Bootcamp-format strength training in Dubai before deciding to leave her base behind entirely and immerse herself in communities around the world — spending six weeks in Tangier, Morocco (where she developed and taught her framework, the Flow Method), before landing in Belgium for a three-month residency. She is also the founder of 23 Collective, a project bringing coaches and community together in new formats.
In this conversation, Mon walks Hannah through the full origin story: riding as a mental health tool after a difficult period in her life, hosting free Saturday night youth rides in Kitchener to create a sober, safe space for young people, and the moment she decided — six months into her coaching career — that she was going to share movement as a mental health tool with the world. Her plan to get there? Apply to Emirates Airlines as cabin crew, fly everywhere, and ask studios to let her coach for free. She got the job. She removed a meaningful tattoo to comply with the uniform policy. She was terminated ten days in when they spotted the remnants. She stayed in Dubai anyway.
Mon also gets candid about the personal experiences that shaped why she coaches the way she does — including a period of substance and alcohol use she hasn't spoken about publicly before, and how finding movement gave her tools she didn't have access to growing up as a child of immigrants. She talks about what it means to be a space holder and a multiplier of potential, why grounded leadership is her north star as a coach, and what it felt like to be selected by House of Ride as their One to Watch through an international competition.
You'll also hear Mon and Hannah get into the art of genre-blending in a playlist (Mon's hill to die on), the tracks that make her lose her mind on the bike, why she signed herself up for pottery and dance classes in Brussels, and the mantra she's carrying into this next chapter: everything that breaks, breaks in my favour.
Note: this episode touches on substance use and mental health. If you or someone you know is struggling, resources are available — please reach out to a trusted person or mental health professional in your area.
This one is for every fitpro who has ever had a goal that sounded completely unhinged to everyone around them — and did it anyway.

From Sydney to AARMY: Alicia Portelli on Hard Classes, Hard Chapters, and Refusing to Give Up
15 May 2026
01:17:47
What do you do when the career you want keeps saying not yet?
If you're Alicia Portelli, you open your own studio, close it when the universe makes it clear it's time, pack up your life and move to Singapore, build something beautiful there too, and then — nine years after first watching a coach on Instagram and thinking I want to work with that person someday — you move to New York and make it happen.
The plot twist? That coach is now her boss at AARMY.
In this episode, Alicia and Hannah dig into what resilience actually looks like from the inside — not the highlight reel version, but the fired-twice, start-over, teach-to-two-people version — and why hard things might be exactly the point.
EPISODE SUMMARY
Alicia Portelli is a cycling coach now based in New York, where she teaches at AARMY alongside Akin Akman — the coach who first inspired her back in 2017 when she watched a video of him riding to Our House with his hands off the handlebars. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Alicia spent years teaching across the country's top cycle studios before opening her own — JAMM — a community-driven studio that became known globally for the athleticism of its riders and the family it built. After closing JAMM in 2023, she moved to Singapore to lead the cycling division at one of Asia's largest boutique fitness studios, coaching across Singapore, Bangkok, Malaysia, Mexico, and beyond — before finally landing in New York in early 2026.
In this conversation, Alicia walks Hannah through the full, beautifully nonlinear journey: the stranger who double-timed in her class and redirected her entire career, the two studio firings that didn't break her, the Lululemon ambassador call where she blurted out "I'm going to open my own studio" with zero plans, the noise complaints that eventually closed JAMM, and the twelve-month visa process that stood between her and the job she'd already been offered at AARMY.
But this episode isn't only a career story. Alicia gets honest about her long battle with bulimia — how it shaped her need for control, how she eventually found her way through it, and how that experience quietly became the foundation for the way she coaches today. She also opens up about the cost of being so tunnel-visioned on career that other parts of life can get left behind, and what she's actively working to change about that.
You'll also hear Alicia and Hannah go deep on the creative practice of building a coaching identity — how to pull inspiration from everywhere without just copying someone else's homework, why simplicity on the bike is sometimes the hardest and most powerful thing you can offer a room, and what Michael Jackson, Fred Again, and a Pilates teacher's vocal authority all have in common.
Plus: book recommendations, the "rapid river" metaphor that made Hannah tear up mid-interview, and the playlist conversation that will absolutely derail your evening.
If you've ever been told no, wondered if the slow build is actually adding up to anything, or needed permission to start over one more time — this episode is it.

Authenticity Over Everything: Building NYX Cycle with Holland Scattergood
29 Apr 2026
01:04:23
What do you do when your dream studio says no?
If you're Holland Scattergood, you email back, ask what it would take, go get the experience, and come back six months later — and now you co-own one of Arizona's most beloved cycling studios with a second location opening this summer. The plot twist? One of her co-founders is the person who originally said no.
In this episode, Holland and Hannah dig into the long, beautifully nonlinear road from spin-class lover to studio founder, and why showing up as your real, imperfect self might be the most strategic move you'll ever make on the podium.
EPISODE SUMMARY
Holland Scattergood is the co-founder of NYX Cycle and Fitness in Scottsdale, Arizona — a studio built on the idea that fitness should feel safe, joyful, and judgment-free. In this conversation, Holland walks Hannah through her full journey: the very first 6 a.m. spin class in college that flipped a switch, the audition rejection that didn't break her, the smaller studio that gave her the experience she needed, and the moment her former studio (The Madison) closed its doors with one month's notice — opening the door for Holland and her co-founders to launch NYX in April 2024.
But this episode isn't only a founder story. Holland gets candid about living with multiple autoimmune diseases — rheumatoid arthritis, celiac, and hypothyroidism — and how the stress of opening a business triggered her biggest flare yet. She talks about why she finally started speaking publicly about her chronic illness, the rider conversation that changed her mind, and how that vulnerability has shifted the way she shows up for her community.
You'll also hear Holland and Hannah swap notes on theme rides (and the great internet "theme slander" debate), what actually makes an instructor authentic, why she launched Swifty Saturday two years ago, the realities of opening a studio with three co-founders and an investor, the sound-system fiasco that accidentally birthed her Super Singalong rides, and how mentorship and traveling — including her upcoming trip to Sweat & Tonic in Toronto — became part of her story almost by accident.
If you've ever been told no, doubted your place on the podium, or wondered whether you're allowed to play Taylor Swift in a spin class — this episode is your permission slip.

Theme Classes, Real Talk
11 Jan 2026
00:17:40
Hot take: There’s no real argument about using themes as a fitness instructor.
Themes aren’t a personality trait or a crutch. They’re a tool. In this episode, I break down why they work from a psychological perspective for both you, as the coach, and the people in your room.
We unpack the fake conflict around themes in fitness and get practical: when they work, why they fill rooms, and how they help build a coach’s brand over time.
I also share psychology-backed marketing insights and real alternatives for when themes don’t fit.
We cover: • expanding our work beyond fitness while still serving studios and instructors • rejecting absolutist coaching advice and honoring context • using scarcity and social proof to drive attendance • building a distinct coaching brand through consistent themes • reducing instructor self-doubt and pre-aligning your energy • treating themes as low-stakes experiments (music, mood, audience fit) • proof points from long-running theme series and community favourites • when to skip themes and use co-leads or other levers instead
If you’re ready to build classes that feel intentional, confident, and yours, Instructor Magic doors are currently open. It’s where I teach the psychology, strategy, and systems behind coaching that fill rooms and sustain you.

The Coaching Skill No One Talks About (But Every Instructor Needs)
26 Nov 2025
00:21:52
In this episode, Hannah pulls back the curtain on one of the most overlooked skills in group fitness: how to coach different types of learners in the room. Drawing from her dual career as an indoor cycling coach and a college instructor, she explains why some cues land instantly—and why others don’t.
You’ll learn:
Why coaching is more than cueing choreography
How different learners absorb effort, challenge, and instruction
The simple shifts that create more connected, confident, in-sync rooms
Why numbers alone aren’t enough (and what to do instead)
How expectations build trust and eliminate effort-rationing
She also shares how this approach strengthens community, improves retention, and helps every rider—from first-time guests to 1,700-ride veterans—feel seen, supported, and successful.

Happier Than Ever: My Coming Out as Queer Story
07 Aug 2025
00:53:20
In this heartfelt episode, I open up about coming out publicly at age 36—and how it’s transformed my life. Along the way, I chat about why I unapologetically repost older content, the shame I carried with me from childhood, and how discovering love later in life felt like the easiest, most natural thing.
Through stories from DJing at gay clubs to repressed emotions in relationships, I unpack:
What early signs and shame around my identity looked like
How I shifted from hiding to living authentically
Meeting my partner and feeling that unforgettable “crush at first sight”
The overwhelmingly positive reactions from family, friends, colleagues, and how love changed everything
Why I’m picky about the places I work and perform now
A reminder that “coming out” can feel right, if the timing and support are there for you

How to master taking hard feedback and being called the 'easy' instructor
20 Feb 2024
00:20:59
Ever felt the sting of being called 'the easy instructor'? Or, on the other hand, "the hard" instructor?
Whatever the label, taking feedback from someone who doesn't exactly vibe with your class format can feel hard, and it's come up multiple times in my Instructor Magic community.
In this episode, we talk about what to do when this happens, what it means, how to adjust (and if you should), and another perspective that might be just what you need.

Navigating Feedback: Insights into handling feedback, especially when it challenges our perceptions of our teaching style.
The Art of Accessibility: Strategies for making group fitness classes accessible and aspirational for a diverse range of abilities. *Note, we talk about this on a scale of beginner to veteran, not necessarily to adjust to disabilities or other considerations when talking about accessibility.
Beyond the Trends: A critical look at how fitness trends can shape our teaching but might not always align with what participants need or want.
Community Building: The importance of creating an inclusive environment where everyone, from first-timers to seasoned enthusiasts, feels welcome and valued.
Personal Reflections: A candid discussion on personal growth, dealing with conflicting feedback, and finding one's unique voice in the fitness industry.

Creative Inspiration vs. Copycats: How to Give Credit as a Coach or Creator and What to Do if Your Work Has Been Plagiarized
21 Aug 2023
00:48:34
Creative Copycats, Plagiarism, and Drawing the Line Between Inspiration and Imitation as a Coach and Creator
Have you ever felt the sting of seeing your original work, choreography, social media post or ideas taken or copied... without being given credit?
Flat out: it sucks, and it can feel like you've been robbed of something.
And in the realm of social media and online communities where content reels reign, trends are fast, and you don't even know who the original creator IS- it's not *always* intentional.
In this episode, I share my experiences with being copied as a creator, how I responded, and how you can both avoid it and address it if you ever find yourself in the same position.
A note: this episode isn't talking about plagiarism in the post-secondary education sphere, or, to provide any legal advice regarding copyright infringements.
Resources mentioned: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert - the phenomenon of two people having the same unique idea. Terms & Conditions and Copyright Agreements - I use Contracts Market for all of my legal agreements.
Key takeaways:
The difference between inspiration and plagiarism
How to give credit when you're inspired by someone else
How to approach someone when you'd like to collaborate, duplicate, or work with someone's original concept
How to address someone when you feel that they've copied or duplicated your work
Examples of what this can look like in social media, indoor cycling, and work

00:26:58
If you're dragging yourself to the studio (or your workplace) and have a deep feeling that you might be "done" with teaching... This episode is for you.
In this quick, straight-to-the-point chat I dive into the sensitive topic of recognizing when it's time to make a change in your life, whether you're an indoor cycling instructor or anyone facing burnout and challenges.
I even get personal about the time I should have left a workplace sooner than I did, and how it's affected me since.
Whether you're an indoor cycling instructor OR someone who has a niggling feeling that it might be time to quit, this episode is for you.

🎙️ Episode Highlights:
Recognizing Burnout: Are you just disinterested or truly done? Pay attention to how long you've been feeling this way and whether it's a consistent feeling of being over it.
Physical and Mental Symptoms: Identify the physical and mental symptoms you experience, like migraines or chronic stress, as they can be indicators that it's time for a break.
The Zone of Genius: We talk about how to recognize the difference between operating in your "zone of excellence" (where you excel but might not be fully passionate) and your "zone of genius" (where you feel aligned, energized, and creative).
Toxic Work Environment: Toxicity can take a toll on your confidence and well-being for years to come- and one of the few situations where I recommend getting the F out as soon as humanly possible.
Taking a Break: Sometimes, all you need is a break to recharge and get creatively inspired. Take time away from the usual routine to rediscover your passion.
Reducing Your Schedule: A reduced schedule can be liberating and help you focus on your strengths and other side hustles that bring you joy.
Positive Closure: Leave on a high note if you feel it's time to move on. Don't be afraid to take a hiatus; remember, you can always return.
Quitting or taking a break is not a sign of failure but a courageous step toward personal growth and self-care. Tune in to gain insights and discover the best path for you! 🎧🚴♀️

Community > Competition in the Fitness Industry
20 Jul 2023
00:35:14
My take on Community > Competition in the Fitness Industry?
Sometimes, it's bullshit.
Stay with me: I don't think it should be.
In fact, I think Community Over Competition is the thing that makes group fitness magic. It's what quiets the ego, centers our clients/riders, and lifts everyone up.
It moves our entire industry forward and therefore helps more people have the lifechanging impact we know is possible through group fitness.
But sometimes, people use it as a slogan for a shirt without actually embodying what it MEANS to say, Community>Competition.
Or, we ourselves can slide into competing with our own team, being passive-aggressive when riders/clients share they're going to another studio, or fail to celebrate the achievements of others.
EPISODE OVERVIEW:
In this episode, I give an update on my life for the last 8 weeks (PS, it's been rocky... and I might cry for just a second in the intro), share where I'm going, and a metaphor for coming out of the darkness.
Around 11 minutes in, I share my TOP takeaways for embodying Community over Competition even when your ego tries to push you into comparing and competing with others.
Top takeaways:
Celebrate your team (instructors). Their success doesn't mean you won't have it too.
Encourage your riders/clients to expand their modalities and workouts
Plan a group workout to go to another studio with your riders, instructors, etc.
Allow yourself to be inspired by the success of others
As a studio: don't market your community by encouraging others to leave the ones they're currently a part of (a la SoulCycle/Peloton)

08 Apr 2023
00:32:33
One of the HARDEST jobs we have as instructors or coaches is to look at how many people sign up for our classes and figure out what’s going to make MORE of them come back.

In my latest podcast episode I talk about 10 Things that can affect your numbers and why-
And what do do about them so you can feel confident the next time you open your schedule and see how many bikes are filled 🎉

If there’s a major concert or event happening in the city
Whether you have a theme

Why You Need a Hustle Season
11 Mar 2023
00:22:54
Hear me out: I'm not here for the glamorization of hustling 365.
And, also: an unpopular opinion of mine is that everyone who's after a big goal will need to hustle *for a season of their life* to get there .
The journey: Hustle Season to CEO Season
This episode I share my experiences with hustling with intention, how to schedule in rest, how to celebrate, and how the hustle season will set you up for a CEO season: with grit, work ethic, and hustling above the norm... without getting burnt out.

Ugly Growth and Becoming Wild + Worthy with Subconscious Freedom Coach Andrea Kauenhowen
05 Mar 2023
01:06:43
What if you could forgive yourself and realize you did exactly what you needed to survive? What if you could dig into your grief and use it to create art and gifts for the world? What if processing your emotions and becoming aware - not a bigger title or job or money- was the biggest key to happiness? What if healing was actually learning how to hold pain?
These are just SOME of the questions my guest and I talk about today, where we dig into the hardest experiences of our lives and how they've shaped us to be coaches with a desire to impact the world.
Andrea is a trauma-informed, subconscious freedom coach & host of the uglygrowth podcast.
She offers 1 on 1 mentorship and group programs for changemakers that desire to break self-sabotage and dissolve limiting beliefs, so that they can create new habits, confidently share their gifts, and magnetize their desires.
Today's episode covers a wide gamit of topics with the goal of inspiring you to know that you can go through the hardest, ugliest experience of your life - use them - and transform them to support your greatest purpose.

5 Things to do Before Spending (Wasting) Time Playlisting
I might have juuuuust ruffled some feathers with this episode title... but hear me out.
The real title is: No One Cares About Your Playlist As Much As You Do... Here's 5 Things to Focus On Instead.
^ that might have ruffled even more feathers.
I constantly get asked "how much time" I spend on my playlists, and the answer usually surprises people: 20 minutes, probably less.
Why? I have a system that works- and once repeated, I simply don't need to focus on the order of my music or even the tracks themselves.
So if you're spending 2 hours on your playlist, here's your quick and dirty episode with FIVE things you should be doing instead to enhance your rider experience:
1) Memorize everyone's names (or 4 - 5) 2) Re-work an existing song you have in your archive by flipping the tempo and adding new choreography 3) Come up with new themes for the next month 4) Spend time before and after the ride connecting with people, sending DMs 5) Consume books, podcasts, and look for quotes to inspire you with new motivation to sprinkle throughout your ride/class
Get out your notebooks and listen to this very niche instructor rant on rider experience > playlisting!

30 Oct 2022

Jordan Reichert believes every BODY belongs on a bike (and hey, so do I!).
As the lead instructor at a Cyclebar studio, Jordan faced rejection- more than 15 times in fact- on her way to the podium.
Now, Jordan inspires other instructors and fit pros through relatable content, inspirational messages and sharing her light with others on IG- and now through merchandise.
We talk about how to come back from failed auditions, feeling confident in being yourself on social media (and how to put yourself "out there"), Instructor Magic, creating options for your riders and get really tactical with a step-by-step approach to making new riders feel comfortable in your rides.
I also announce two new masterclass dates to celebrate the launch of Instructor Magic, opening its doors for the sixth time on November 7.

Creating safer spin spaces: why I'm not playing Kanye West in my rides.
24 Oct 2022
00:18:04
This quick episode is mostly for my fellow instructors, coaches, and fit-pros who make playlists (DJs, you too!)
In it, I talk about my decision to eliminate Kanye West's music from my rides based on hate speech and anti-semitic remarks he's openly said, and doubled down on, in recent weeks.
Instructors: we have a platform, a pedestal, and a microphone that gives us the ability to create spaces where people feel safe, validated, connected to others, inspired by, and motivated from.
Getting intentional with the artists you play and the values they reflect is a key element of this, and a responsibility I'm continuously reminded of.
Listen to this quick episode and let me know what you think in the DMs.

From Failing the Bar Exams to a $30k Launch: Piper Riley Thompson, Ontario Bar Exam Coach
13 Aug 2022
00:55:38
Ready for a masterclass in failure, resiliency, and monetizing your magic?
Piper Riley Thompson is a friend AND client who shares exactly how she created a thriving business (Ontario Bar Exam Coach) out of one of the hardest times in her life - failing the bar exams - and then having a waitlist of students wanting to work with her.
This conversation is hands down one of my favourites - ever.
We both get super vulnerable talking about debt (PSA: law school is extremely expensive!) money, mindset, realities around launching and ultimately how Piper managed to launch Bar Exam Bootcamp to leverage her experience and scale her offerings into making more than $30,000 in her first launch.
We also talk about how to let go of the fear of judgement from others and the bullsh*t we scare ourselves into believing that could have stopped us in our tracks.
Whether you're curious about course launching or just want to tune in for a ridiculously honest and vulnerable conversation about life, business, money, and burnout...
You're in the right place.

The 3 People Who Need to Launch an Online Course
07 Jun 2022
00:33:31
What do Fit Pros, Waitlisted Service Providers and Industry Superstars have in common?
They should all launch an online course (or coaching program, or digital product), like - yesterday.
In this episode I share my top 3 picks for who can successfully launch an online offer and give a roadmap to how to get started.
If you're an instructor, a waitlisted 1:1 service provider or someone with a fixed salary but who is a leader in your industry... listen up. Digital products might just change your life, like they did mine (like, 6 figures changed).
Takeaways:
1) If you want to scale, you need to either add another service provider to your business or add a passive revenue stream. By adding a course or digital product to your business, you can better serve your 1:1 clients by giving them specific training on areas that complement what you do so well- keeping them coming back, but also giving them greater results!
2) If you're a Fit Pro, you have a built-in audience and are already doing the work of being an entrepreneur. Adding a virtual program to allow your following to access you is going to deepen their connection with you, complement what you're doing in your studio, and give your "people" greater access to the magic you already serve them up with.
3) If you're an industry leader, you likely have a rockstar recipe that has your colleagues (and maybe even competitors) asking "how the heck did you do X?". Launching a program or a course that "teaches your industry" will benefit your community, but also add a source of revenue that doesn't rely on asking your clients to do more with you. I give tangible examples of who should do this and even a few ideas to get you started.
If this episode rocked your world- head to the TLF application page below and set-up a call with yours truly to see if launching an online offer is right for you this year. Applications close July 7 for my late-summer cohort!

How Online Offerings are the Key to Doubling Your Salary in 2022
02 Jan 2022
00:40:01
Okay, hear me out.
Are you in the time-for-money trade? (Not sure? The answer is probably yes).
This means you get paid for your time, instead of your offerings. Think 1:1 services, or having a set salary for your time.
Symptoms? Burnout, realizing you're not hitting revenue goals but can't increase them, feeling like there's got to be more than what you're doing in order to increase your salary.
You can double your salary without ditching your 9-5 and the way to do this is by creating an online offering with massive profitability.
In this episode I give listeners the down and dirty 45 minute overview on what exactly online courses are, questions and considerations for how to come up with your first online offering, and the potential revenue available to you.
I *also* get real about who shouldn't be a coach/course creator... and, who absolutely should.
Ready to take action on your new course or online offer idea? I'm launching an accelerator program that teaches you how to create, launch, and scale your course using only organic marketing (no ads) strategies... think of it as your A-Z plan.
PSST: Instructor Magic is also launching, friends. Head to this link to jump into a free webinar to get to know me and ask me anything about how to get to waitlisted classes.

How Grief Gives You Permission to Be Brave & Go After Your Dreams
27 Dec 2021
00:31:02
Grief as permission to be brave... what!?
Yep, I did find a silver lining. And this isn't toxic positivity either friend- this is the straight up truth.
Trigger warning: in this episode we get real about mental health and mental illness as I share my story of losing someone to depression, and how it's affected my life.
I give you three takeaways and reasons why grief will give you permission to be brave in the pursuit of creativity...
I also reveal that Instructor Magic is opening on January 17 and there's a *Flash Sale* happening right now (ends Weds at midnight).
