EP 39: "How I Escaped A Cult, & Transformed My Own Life, & Community" With Keynote Speaker, Writer, & Entrepreneur Shana Francesca

Season 1 · Episode 39

lundi 16 octobre 2023Duration 56:58

*Trigger Warning Here*, We discuss Child Labour, Childhood S*exual Assault, Rape, and Pedophilia. If you feel you would like to not listen to this part, please skip over the following times:

04:25- 07:17 mins

Welcome to todays episode my loves with Shana Francesca. Shana is a Speaker, Writer and Entrepreneur. She has been published in Medium, Authority Magazine, Shoutout LA, emotional intelligence + magazine and Emerge Magazine. Shana’s work centres around Intentional Leadership and Living (life design).

She believes we become infinitely more impactful as leaders, and as humans when we understand the power of community and our role inside of it. Knowing that a corporation, team, family or organisation is a type of community, and that community is an ecosystem where it is vital that every part and person is honoured, and empowered.

We talk all about Shanas background in growing up as a child within a cult, and how this level of trauma, and intensity, that she went through, has transformed her life, in so many levels. Particularly in her business, relationships, and purpose in life.

Shana, shares the complexities that come when you are raised within a cult, and how she by accident left when she was 25. How the illness of her Grandfather, brought her the freedom, and the ability to feel genuinely loved by a man, within a family dynamic. And how she learnt what it would feel like to genuinely feel safe. A feeling she had never experienced in her life.

We talk about the complexities, around how to decondition the mind, and body to attract people who are genuinely healthy for you in your life , and the importance of following, and learning your intuition.

Shana shares how she has now learnt how to have aligned boundaries, and she applies her tools with working with Leaders, her own personal life, and her own business.

We also touch upon how psychedelics how have helped heal, and create new neural pathways to establish a healthy, and transformation in her life. However, the importance of feeling grounded in your body first, and having a strong relationship with your intuition first, and foremost, before stepping into the plant medicine world was crucial for her.

Shana believes that creativity, and sharing our perception of the world, with others around us is what we are here to do, but first we must feel safe within our bodies.

We discuss the power of dominance, and hierarchy, and how in Shanas view peoples language, and body language is the recipe to knowing someones intention, and perception of you. To navigate this is to set intentions, and expectations with others, and if these are violated, how she walks away from them, no matter how long the relationship.

Shanas work is to now help others to understand what is appropriate, within interactions, and the natural world around us. Nothing or no one is perfect, and to continually acknowledge, and respect one another is a healthy way of creating a healthy culture, rather than an unhealthy cult. "Curiosity without respect is intrusive, respect without curiosity is uneducated" (Yep let that digest) . And how good, and bad is the result of recognising the impact, as well as taking accountability for our own impact is super important. The bare minimum isn't enough to thrive within a community!
