#011 Michael Blank about Champagne and its history
vendredi 5 juillet 2024 • Duration 25:47
Do you like sparkling wine? What seemed to be a wine for party people has become a rising star in the world of fine wine. And after the big rise of the French still wine regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy, Champagne is probably THE last region with great upside potential.
We had the opportunity to speak to our friend Michael about the specialities of Champagne, how its quality has improved impressively over the last few decades and which vintages are often overlooked. His love of champagne has seen him taste more than many professional wine journalists, so it's definitely worth listening to what he has to say!

lundi 8 mai 2023 • Duration 48:30

#010 Rasmus Nielsen, founder of RareWine (Part 2)
samedi 1 juin 2024 • Duration 46:09
Enjoy part 2!
#009 Rasmus Nielsen, founder of RareWine (Part 1)
jeudi 16 mai 2024 • Duration 39:57
Rasmus founded RareWine 18 years ago back in 2006 from scratch. Now it is one of the leading wine merchants in Europe. Due to the obvious synergies (direct access to producer, broad knowledge of market dynamic etc.), they later founded their wine investment branch called RareWine Invest.
During our discussion with Rasmus we touched on many topics. Especially interesting was RareWine's clear focus on Champagne and Burgundy when it comes to investing (yes you heard right, almost no Bordeaux!).
He then left us in the dark while blind-tasting the wine he brought to the studio. Tune in if you want to know how wrong we were with our guesses and which wines we tasted. We only want to reveal this much: after the recording we bought several cases of the tasted wine - for investing purposes but also to enjoy drinking some of them.
We had that much fun talking that we decided to split the podcast in two parts. The second part will be released soon.
Let us know what you think about it!
#008 Julian Perry, CEO of Wine-Searcher
jeudi 4 avril 2024 • Duration 43:14

Have fun with the episode!
#007 Luca Höfer, owner of Steinfels Weinauktionen AG: Process of taking over an auction house, composition of his sellers and buyers and the psychological effect while bidding
samedi 24 février 2024 • Duration 34:19
Wineauctions have played and still play a huge role in the life cycle of a wine. Did you know that a relatively large part of the buyers at Steinfels auctions are professional wine merchants? Or that more and more younger vintages have been put up for auction recently?
We discussed this and much more with Luca Höfer, owner of Steinfels Weinauktionen AG.
Let us know what you think and don't forget to rate and share the podcast.
