| How to Develop Your Specific Spiritual Gifts + The Role Your Life's Pain Plays in Your Purpose with Manuela Welton | 24 Nov 2025 | 01:25:37 | |
Ep 147. Have you ever wondered if pain, shame, or anger is showing up in your life because it's the key to something deeper? What does it actually mean to be an intuitive healer? And how do we learn to hear what our own pain has been trying to tell us our entire lives? This week, Manuela Welton, an energy healer who has spent nearly two decades helping individuals, companies, and even governments understand themselves on a deeper energetic level, is breaking down loss, fear, and judgment from an energy perspective. From her gifts being discovered as a four-year-old child to experiencing devastating loss that shaped her childhood, she shares how the death of her parents became one of her greatest initiations into her path. If you've ever felt like you just need an energetic clean slate and to validate or move stuck energy that has stayed with you WAY too long, this episode will feel like the hand you have needed to hold. I'm so honored to share such a sacred relationship that I have worked so closely with over the last couple years. Manuela truly has a one-of-kind gift. Thank you all so much for listening.

| How Childhood Trauma Can Shape Intuition – The Science of Spiritual Gifts | Laura Day | 20 Oct 2025 | 01:13:03 | |
Ep. 146 Is heightened intuition a gift or a trauma response? Why is it stronger for some than others, and what is the science behind why some people have 'psychic' abilities? Laura Day, world-renowned intuitive and bestselling author of Practical Intuition and her new book The Prism, is diving into why our unique childhood experiences & 'wounds' can determine the ways in which our intuition may express as an adult. Laura grew up in a chaotic home affected by suicide, manic depression, and narcissism, effectively raising her siblings alone, and is sharing how her beginning actually became the portal to discovering her intuitive gifts. She breaks down the important difference between intuition and wisdom, and why intuition can be both a superpower and a stumbling block depending on how we develop it. | How to Turn Your Daily "Routines" into Intentional Rituals That Can Change Your Life | 03 Mar 2025 | 00:59:40
Ep 137 Have you ever wished you could curate more magic into your daily life? Building a routine is so important but how do we take our routines a step further to ritualize the mundane? We're all guilty of rushing through our days to maximize productivity, yet slowing wayyyy down allows us to find meaning in the in-between moments. In this episode, I'm taking you through some of the special daily & seasonal rituals that have helped me mark important moments in time, incorporate prayer and mindfulness to really understand what's happening in my life, and shifted my mindset to see the beauty of what is in front of me. We think that the impactful moments in life have to all be large but the real moments are as small as appreciating warm socks, climbing into a made bed, or gentle movement. Turning an everyday task into something sacred can be the first step to shifting our minds to a state of gratitude. Through developing a ritual around daily and seasonal practices we can nurture a deeper relationship with ourselves, and our ancestors to make our day-to-day life just a little bit sweeter.

| VISION IS MORE THAN 20/20 - a mind blowing convo on why your personality, worldview + more relates to your eyesight with behavioral optometrist Dr. Bessler | 25 Oct 2021 | 00:58:57 | |
Ep 46. Vision is so much more than just seeing what's in front of you. It's about your eyes (which are part of your brain outside of your head) seeing the world, your goals, and processing the way you relate to others. Beyond that, vision "issues" are more than blurry letters, 20/20, or astigmatism, and can actually involve the way that your eyes either work together or fight each other, creating extra stress in your brain! I am so excited for you all to listen to this mind blowing conversation, because this guest is my very own eye doctor who has changed my life and the way I see things... LITERALLY. Meet Behavioral Optometrist Dr. Marni Bessler and get the juice on why vision is connected to things like ADHD, posture and personality, plus what vision struggles can tell us about the way your brain solves problems. "Vision is not just something that happens to us—it's something we create once the info gets into our brain."

| How to Build Your Self Worth By Meeting Your "Inner Mother": Reparenting & Parts Work 101 | 17 Feb 2025 | 01:17:12 | |
Ep. 135 Do you feel like there's often a rebellious, childlike part of you calling the shots despite your best efforts to take action aligned with your goals? Does she procrastinate to the point of self-sabotage, or go for the box of cookies when you know a solid meal is what you need? Does this rebellion come out when you're working to an extreme, being especially hard on yourself or tying your worth solely to your productivity? This is where "reparenting" ourselves comes in: the part of adulthood where we realize it's our job to be our own parent, but we have no idea where to start when a parent was also unkind to themselves or not in touch with their own worth and needs. Over the last four years, I've slowly learned how to answer the question, "what do I need right now?" — sometimes it's good old discipline, other times it's connection or rest. I found that I got to recreate my own "inner mother" who was capable of being honest and curious enough to make the call from a place of trust and self knowing, but it wasn't easy to get there. I'm walking you through every step I had to go through to move from self-criticism to self-parenting.

| EP. #27 YUP, THAT'S A SIGN - the "out there" episode: mediums, dreams, unexplainable experiences, signs, spirituality, and the meaning of 2020 | 12 Oct 2020 | 01:43:11 | |
A lot of skeptics question psychics, mediums, and energy workers because it's like, "why does this person think they're special?" or "why should they be able to access it and not me?" But it's not that at all! We're all capable of connecting with energy—we just have to learn how to trust this gift within ourselves. Alea Lovely is our guest on today's "out there" episode where we don't hold back about spirituality, psychic dreams, how plants "speak to me", unexplainable experiences (including that time Nick went into space and spoke to his grandmother and grandfather about the meaning of life) and the deeper lesson behind the chaos of 2020. We're going there today, discussing angel numbers, how to recognize signs, getting in touch with your intuition and sixth sense, and so much more. | EP. #26 THE SKIN EPISODE - cosmetic acupuncture instead of botox, hot baths for acne + upping your YIN to plump your SKIN | 05 Oct 2020 | 01:24:08
This week on What's the Juice Amrit Singh and I nerd out about cosmetic acupuncture as an alternative to botox, how to stimulate production of your OWN collagen (instead of just supplementing), hot baths for acne, and other uncommon techniques from Traditional Chinese Medicine. We're covering several of my favorite topics: how emotional states can affect your physical meridians, how to protect your immune system, your lymphatic system, and the importance of your "Shen". BTW your "Shen" symbolizes your spirit; it's a combo of happiness, alignment, fulfillment, energy, and how you deeply nourish yourself. Amrit and I get specific about how you can improve your skin using a whole body perspective, because the truth is, even the priciest serum won't give you that GLOW if your "Shen" isn't nourished. | EP. #25 HOW DO WE HEAL THE HOLES IN HEALTHCARE? - medicine of the future with Dr. Berzin | 28 Sep 2020 | 01:11:57
Life update: my mama is FINALLY home after 6 grueling months and we're adapting to her post-COVID needs with help from her wonderful caregivers. It truly does take a village, and there's no way I'd be able to cope without my community. That's why this week, I decided to release my episode with Dr. Robin Berzin of Parsley Health where we explore the very real gaps in healthcare that have only become more apparent over this past year. How can we move to a prevention-focused model of medicine where patients genuinely feel heard and supported? How do we advocate for ourselves and our loved ones so that we're seen as the complex humans we are with unique and individual needs? Dr. Berzin's goal with her practice is to help us stop "living ourselves sick" by genuinely getting to know each patient for their unique lifestyle and needs, and identifying early symptoms related to common conditions like PCOS, hormonal/thyroid imbalances, autoimmune diseases, and more. I've said it before and I'll say it again: modern medicine is incredible on so many levels, and yet there's still room for improvement and integration as chronic disease only continues to rise. Dr. Berzin and her team are in the middle of a healthcare revolution, and I'm HERE FOR IT. | EP. #24 POST COVID HAIR LOSS - recovering after fever, stress & immune dysregulation | 14 Sep 2020 | 00:53:28
Friendly reminder: I am an herbalist, not a medical doctor. I love plants, PubMed, and combining tradition with science. My mission with this episode is to break down everything I know about post-COVID syndrome and get to the root of how we can fully heal our bodies after experiencing infection or prolonged periods of stress. In this episode I will share what I've learned from other professionals who are currently treating post-COVID syndrome. Post-COVID hair loss is something we've been hearing more and more about over the past few months, and has been at the top of my mind after hearing experiences from so many in the OO community. Today I'm going to share my perspective as an herbalist on the what, why, and how we can support our bodies as we recover and convalesce. We'll chat about "Telogen Effluvium" (hair loss that shows up several months after a fever or infection), the effects of stress and how B vitamins get depleted, and why mushroom broth may help with post-infection immune dysregulation. Ever since getting COVID from my dad and experiencing GI symptoms as my main presentation, the microbiome has clearly been at the top of my mind. I just got my GI Map results back from my doctor (which is an advanced DNA based stool test that looks for overgrowths of different pathogens), and we found some interesting bugs which reinforce that oral/gut connection I've been stressing in recent episodes. | EP. #20 GETTING TO THE (BREATH) WORK — Maryam Ajayi on finding her calling through energy healing + breathwork | 17 Aug 2020 | 01:05:51
It's my honor to share this conversation with entrepreneur, reiki practitioner, activist and breathwork teacher Maryam Ajayi. Maryam is the founder of DiveInWell, an organization dedicated to fostering diversity in the wellness industry by bringing together thought leaders, influencers, and educators who have the power to create deep change through examining how they can show up in their business in terms of accessibility and inclusion. Her company began its legacy by hosting salons and events that foster the open and difficult conversations that must be shared around inclusion and allyship both publicly in the health and wellness world, and privately in our personal lives and circles. DiveInWell has completely rebranded in 2020 and is committed to providing not only massively valuable educational resources, but events, workshops, free swims and so much more. Maryam gives us all the juicy details in the pod as she shares her story, but here's a quick sparknotes version: when her aspirations of becoming a young, Black, female Republican lobbyist stopped resonating, Maryam uprooted her life and moved from D.C. to NYC. One day, the universe truly had her back when she decided to splurge on a massage in hopes it would relieve her chronic pain. Little did she know, that seemingly innocent decision would completely change her life forever. | EP. #19 COVID'S LINK TO ORAL HEALTH — Dr. Victoria's research on the oral microbiome and secondary bacterial infections | 10 Aug 2020 | 01:15:43
Most of us are taught to brush 2-3 times a day and floss regularly, but what we aren't told is the whole story on WHY these practices are so important. Taking care of our mouths is more than just protecting our smile… it about boosting our immunity, protecting against autoimmune conditions, and preventing infection. Since Dr. Victoria has been furloughed during the COVID crisis, she's dedicated her time to educating herself on the infection. Over the past few months, she's connected the dots between the virus and common oral bacteria, leading her to create some compelling hypotheses about the role of bacterial superinfection in COVID complications. | EP. #18 MY LIFE CHANGING COVID STORY — how fighting for my parents' survival changed my life | 27 Jul 2020 | 02:58:19
My podcast has been silent since May 25th, and I'm finally ready to tell you what happened. This is an episode that I've been ferociously putting off for months because honestly, I'm still actively processing everything that happened. This episode of What's the Juice wasn't premeditated. It wasn't a scheduled recording, or part of our season one production plans. And yet, nothing over the past six months has gone "as planned"... so here we are. This episode is a raw recount of exactly what went down in March 2020 when BOTH of my parents almost lost their lives to the first wave of the novel Coronavirus. Our story kicks off at the beginning of the first COVID outbreak in New York and this makes it all the more unnerving. None of us knew anything back then. I was trying to figure this virus out in real time as my mom was being put on a ventilator and my dad was terrified for his life. I was called to rely on everything I've ever learned as a humbled herbalist with a newfound, deeper appreciation for Western Medicine to get them through. This is the next chapter of my growth. I told you guys What's the Juice would be an extension of our community, so Nick and I are here today, on the mic, recording all the wild details about how relentless patient advocacy, experimental drugs, round the clock prayer, and a few earth-side angels saved both my parents lives. You'll hear how facing the potential loss of my loved ones changed me as a person forever and helped me to realize my own mortality (and thus, what's truly important in life). You'll learn how hard it was to advocate for them in the hospital system, and why finding out what was in my mom's feeding tube formula (hint: corn) helped me make decisions that were better for her health and survival. You'll get our side of how the virus presented in our own bodies once we contracted it from my father. But most of all, you'll hear how LOVE for your family can give you the power to fight even when you don't have an ounce of strength left. This is a story about family coming together and deeeeep generational healing far beyond the virus. It was the worst time of my life, but it also showed me my relentless will to fight for the people that I love. And I'm a much better person for it today. | How to Have a Conversation with Your Higher Self (& The Unconventional Way I Use AI to Treat it Like a Therapy Session) | 10 Feb 2025 | 01:15:36
Ep 134. I recently had a transformative experience where I felt called to lay down before bed and allow my "higher self" to thank me for all the work I've done up to this point. I had the thought to voice record the process, where I simply talked to myself and said all the things we never acknowledge or validate out loud but need to hear — not from the outside world, but from ourselves. Afterwards, I decided to plug the transcript of the voice recording into ChatGPT… and I was shocked at how valuable it was to not only have this healing moment and my own words recollected in such detail, but to have actual helpful prompts that made this like a therapy session with valuable take aways & homework. While I don't believe that AI should be creating our visual artwork or writing our blog posts, I've found that it can be incredibly useful for self reflection and introspection and I wanted to share the exact formula of how I completed this process, as it was so deeply healing for my inner child to hear these words come out of my mouth. So this week, I'm sharing the exact therapeutic practice that I created (with AI!) to connect with my higher self. If you're feeling called to jump back into a creative flow or are looking for a cost conscious, unconventional tool to help you in your personal growth, this is the perfect place to start.

| EP. #17 A REVOLUTIONARY APPROACH TO LYME DISEASE — Richard Mandelbaum's powerful philosophy on treating chronic illness | 25 May 2020 | 01:39:00 | |
THIS WEEK ON WHAT'S THE JUICE PODCAST Unless you're new here, you've most likely heard me gush about my experience at ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism. Now, I haven't always been a total herb nerd. This interest of mine was first ignited when I started buying supplements on Amazon and it quickly spiraled into a full-blown passion that just won't quit! A few years ago I followed my gut to ArborVitae and I can say with 100% certainty that it was the right choice for me. I've learned SO much since I first started my program and it's all thanks to my incredible, inspiring, brilliant teachers. This episode of What's The Juice is a super special one for me because I get to introduce you to someone I've mentioned many times before: Richard Mandelbaum. Richard and Claudia Keel founded ArborVitae, and they're the quintessential yin and yang team. In herbalism speak, where Claudia is the flower essence, Richard is the spleen qi... and they are both major herbalist GOALS. Richard's classes are full of Chinese Medicine (be still my heart), and he's always encouraging his students to look at human health in a balanced way. He's a Leo — so it's no wonder that I resonate with him — but it's his Aquarius moon AND Aquarius rising that make him such an innovator. Not only did he co-found an herbalism school in New York City, he's also playing a vital role in shifting the way modern medicine approaches Lyme disease.

Here's the juice on this week's pod guest: Alisa Vitti. Alisa is a wellness queen, researcher, and author, and in this episode of What's The Juice, we talk all about biological cycles and something super eye opening: The Infradian Rhythm. Here's what's up with the infradian rhythm... Unlike the 24-hour circadian rhythm (which is the single natural rhythm for men), the infradian rhythm is a secondary 28-day cycle that affects six key systems in the reproductive-aged female body.

| EP. #15 - WHO IS SHE? MEET THE HERB - Avena Sativa: to restore frazzled nerves & replenish your adrenals | 11 May 2020 | 00:35:53 | |
Welcome back to another installment of WHO IS SHE. This week we're getting to know a plant I think we can all vibe with right now… it's our girl, AVENA SATIVA. So, technically our girl avena sativa isn't an adaptogen but she totally moonlights as one. Avena is actually a nervine that responds well to adaptogens so she's often combined with them so she can work her healing magic. She's nourishing, lubricating, and gentle… so it shouldn't be a surprise to learn that she's one of the most comforting foods I can think of: Oatmeal. | EP. #12 — IS "DAMPNESS" MESSING WITH YOUR DIGESTION? - Traditional Chinese Medicine's take on gut dysbiosis & liver health | 20 Apr 2020 | 01:04:55
This week, on What's the Juice, I'm joined by Dr. Kara of Aculand Acupuncture for a very timely episode all about the gut, digestion, dampness, and gut dysbiosis — exactly the topics we need to focus on right now. We also give a juicy introduction to the Qi. Qi is the term used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to describe your body's vital life energy. It's necessary for all life processes: proper organ function, circulation of blood, metabolism of body fluid, warming the body, defending against illness, and transforming food into energy. This episode specifically covers liver Qi stagnation. What lifestyle choices are we making that disrupt our live Qi? What are the most common symptoms? What herbs have been shown to be beneficial? We also cover several self acupuncture points that help us regenerate our Qi, plus tips on keeping our digestive fires going strong. This is a concentrated episode with a lot of useful information packed into a nerdy conversation. I hope you love it! | EP. #11 – LEARN YOUR UNIQUE HUMAN DESIGN TYPE — how to understand your human design helps you show up in life | 13 Apr 2020 | 01:53:57
In episode #11 we learn all about the foundation of Human Design from a true expert, Erin Claire Jones. To get every last ounce out of this episode, you need to do one quick thing before we dive in… Get your free personal Human Design Chart HERE. To kick things off, Erin Claire Jones gives us an overview on what Human Design is and what it does. In short, it's a self awareness tool that can help you make decisions and show you if you're on the right path. One thing I LOVE about Human Design is that it's basically a gateway to knowing yourself. It's similar to astrology in the sense that it peels back the layers to reveal who we are and how we work, allowing us to get into a flow where we can exist with less pushing and resistance … and damn, if I don't need more of that in my life! Human Design draws from other systems like astrology, Kabbalah, quantum physics, genetics, bio physics, and MORE. I absolutely love this because it totally reflects my personal philosophy as an herbalist. I don't practice just one thing! I pull from Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, Western herbal medicine, etc. and create my own way of doing things. | EP. #10 – HOW TO HEAL FAMILY TRAUMA (with horses) – unmasking generational repression & shame | 06 Apr 2020 | 01:37:08
I'm back and this week I'm sharing a life-changing conversation I had with an incredibly healing woman. Matisse and I talk about a ground-breaking treatment she's been using on her horse farm up in Garrison, NY: Horse Constellation Therapy. This episode is a deep dive into the soul of this modality that is a potent blend of ancestral therapy, ceremony, and western psychotherapy. Matisse is cooking up some serious magic over at Two Moons Ranch and we get into the details of how she uses soulful space to offer equine-assisted facilitation work for leadership development, creativity, and deep ancestral healing. We live in a culture where some would say that we overshare, in a sense… but I think we're so tired of repressing things that we're ready to let things go. We're ready to talk about them. And this gives us a really wonderful, structured way to do that and a safe place. | Ep. #09 - NOT AN ANNOYING SELF-HELP EPISODE - how to actually take action and get unstuck through experimentation & play | 09 Mar 2020 | 01:25:01
In Episode 5 we learned that 2020 is a year of completion — the year to wrap up old stories and patterns, and close the door on anything that is holding us back from our next level. Today's episode is an honest yet daringly playful guide to HOW you can let go of fear and start your new story. If you've been feeling stuck or frustrated, like you're standing in your own way but just can't take the first step, this is for you. Katharine Hargreaves, founder of The Fearless Experiment teaches us (with full-on gusto) that so much of our fear is actually just blocked excitement. That there's a part of us just dying to run and jump into the unknown even if we find a million reasons not to. She explains her method of challenging yourself to simply take action by (a) starting with the smallest first step possible, and (b) telling people you trust to hold you accountable. She explains why pressuring yourself to be the "problem solver" is really just a mechanism of survival that we got stuck in along the way; that we should care a lot more about getting to KNOW the problem first rather than judging how well we employ a solution. We need to learn how to hold ourselves in the mystery… experimentation is valuable play, and if we could stop taking ourselves so seriously, we'd do it a lot more. Sometimes the solution you're seeking looks a lot different than originally expected, but you'll never know until you act. | EP. #08 - THE MOST NOURISHING WAY TO CONSUME HERBS - how to make infusions for thyroid health, energy & more | 24 Feb 2020 | 01:34:33
Introducing herbal medicine into your life doesn't have to be intimidating! Simply understanding the basics of "herbalism 101" — including the different "classes" of herbs — will empower you to understand your body in a whole new way. Today, Olivia sits down with fellow herbalist Traci Donat of Simples Tonics, to talk about the most nourishing way to get started in your kitchen: by making herbal infusions. We go over the top plants we like to use and what each of them benefits most (for example Schizandra infusions for 'leaky energy' and 'mental diarrhea' where the brain can't fully "form" thoughts, Oatstraw infusions for dry skin and joints, and Burdock infusions for liver and lymphatic health). More than anything, we emphasize how simple it is to steep these herbs in a mason jar overnight and reap the incredible nutritional benefits. As a bonus, at the top of the episode Olivia covers a mini lesson where she explains the three ways that herbalists meet a plant and get to know its actions. What can a bitter taste in a plant tell you? What does it mean if a plant is pungent and spicy? What's the difference between an adaptogen and a nervine? Fellow plant enthusiasts and lovers of learning, this one is for you! Connect with Olivia HERE Connect with Traci HERE Shop Organic Olivia formulas HERE Read full length show notes HERE
| My Journey With Cannabis & How I Quit: Overcoming Codependency & Finding Safety Within Myself | 03 Feb 2025 | 02:04:56 | |
Ep 133. In today's solo episode, I'm breaking down how I went from relying on cannabis daily for just shy of 10 years, to giving it up almost entirely. I'm discussing the two questions I had to ask myself to start this journey: who am I when everything else is stripped away (and what am I willing to do to meet her), and who am I when I let the pain I'm avoiding change me? I'll be sharing the pros and cons – including the way this plant initially supported me, the confusion between its role in stress relief and helping us put off changing stressful conditions, tools I used during the quitting period, Traditional Chinese Medicine's view of habitual use, why this plant helps us to access our creativity, and how to believe that you can still be creative without it. Lastly, I'm sharing my relationship with the plant today and whether or not it still has a place in my life.

| Ep. #07 - STRESS PART 2 - how to get out of fight or flight mode and improve sleep, digestion & libido | 17 Feb 2020 | 01:39:33 | |
Get ready for part two of our debut episode, The Stress Bible. This week we're diving even deeper into "sympathetic dominance" (chronic fight or flight mode) and what impact this has on the body physiologically. When you can't calm down, you can't "secrete" properly (both hormones and fluids) meaning you may have issues sleeping, digesting, eliminating, or getting horny. Olivia and Nick get personal and candid about what puts them in fight or flight mode and how they cope — especially when they feel guilty for resting. We discuss our generation's obsession with productivity plus the oh so nuanced PERCEIVED stress (and how to flip the script mentally). Stress can be a huge catalyst for change, so using it wisely and seeing it differently is key to overcoming it. Throughout the episode, we're constantly talking about hacks and tools you can use to spend more time in PARAsympathetic mode (rest and digest – which is the opposite of sympathetic dominance). These range from CBD and herbs all the way to simply using your own breath. This episode is for those of you who simply can't relax and feel like you're always "on." As a society, we're forgetting how to slow down and sit with ourselves, so give yourself an intentional break and listen to this episode while taking some deeeeeep belly breaths. You deserve it.
