G's back from his summer holidays and ready to return to racing at the Renewi Tour. He's not gonna fly, but he's looking forward to supporting INEOS' strong lineup in Belgium.
One thing's for sure though: he's glad not to be in Spain. The first week of the Vuelta has been a rollercoaster - excellent for armchair viewing, not so much for racing in 40+ degree heat.
With Luke away, G called up Producer George to run through the craziness on the roads of Spain and he answered plenty of your questions from Twitter.
We'll be back later in the week with a classic massage table pod from Renewi as G adapts to life back in the bunch.

Jasper Philipsen did the business once again at the Tour de France - much to the surprise of G. He's back with Tom to discuss another exciting day of sprint action and look ahead to the race's first major day in the mountains.
There's plenty of talk about crashing (the dreaded 'c' word), the Watts Occurring prediction league is hotting up, and UAE's tactics come under the microscope again.

Recording of tonight's pod started at 3km to go of the Tour de France's first sprint day and... well, Luke and G won't be giving up the day job anytime soon to rival Ned Boulting and co in the commentary game. There was plenty of emotion though, and lots of classic sprint drama for the boys to dissect.
G gives his thoughts on the weekend's action, Luke's got a sprint win to celebrate in Austria courtesy of Jhonny Narvaez, and Laurens de Plus deals a devastating blow in the prediction league by picking Philipsen.

Luke and Tom are here for the first episode of Watts Occurring's 2023 Tour de France coverage - and wow, what a weekend in the Basque Country. Two unexpected stage winners, a British yellow jersey, and early battles between Pog and Vingegaard.
Luke has his views on UAE's workload, Vingegaard working (or not...) for Wout van Aert, and Tom's already struggling in the Watts Occurring prediction league.
And Luke's doing all this while racing himself with INEOS in Austria. He gives us an update from there, and fills us in on his new favourite team. Something to do with a beer tap...

The Tour de France is nearly here - and while Luke and G won't be going for an all-expenses paid trip round France this year (there's the small matter of the Vuelta to prep for...) we've got BIG pod plans.
They've recruited G's GTCC co-host Tom Fordyce and the trio will be bringing you five Tour pods a week throughout July - that's right, FIVE pods a week. We've got some big plans, so make sure you stay tuned for all your Tour de France news.

Watts Occurring - Rest in peace, Gino Mader

The cycling world was rocked last week with the tragic death of Swiss cyclist Gino Mader. Mader crashed during stage five of the Tour de Suisse and passed away early on Friday. Luke and Geraint pay their tribute to the 26-year-old.
Luke’s also been back racing himself at Route d’Occitanie and while he was away, he grabbed 19-year-old Welsh sensation Josh Tarling for a typical Watts Occurring hotel room chat. Hopefully you’ll learn a little more about INEOS’ next young star.
