Chris Schopen has dedicated a remarkable career to addressing trauma and abuse, working in various roles such as an educator, therapist, forensic interviewer, school counselor, expert witness, and author. With extensive experience interviewing over 5,000 victims both nationally and internationally, Chris has become a respected figure in the field. This wealth of experience naturally led to their current role as a wellness trainer with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. In this position, Chris is committed to enhancing the well-being of all employees, from the front-line receptionist to the county attorney herself, by providing support that intertwines personal and professional development. Recognizing Chris’s expertise and having collaborated for nearly two decades, the county attorney specifically created this role to leverage Chris’s unique skills to foster a healthy and supportive work environment.

Our guest Rebecca Campbell graduated with a degree in psychology from Michigan State University and went on to do an internship at a domestic violence rape crisis center. This experience inspired her to go to graduate school and become a research psychologist, focusing on improving support for rape survivors. Her work is motivated by her experiences as a volunteer and her desire to make a positive impact in this field.

Our guest today on the Voice2Change podcast is Tara Flynn, who bravely shares her personal story with us. Tara is not only a survivor, but also a member of Jane Doe No More's Survivors Speak Advisory Board and actively involved in their Safe Student Initiative. Through this program, Tara educates students from middle school to college on topics like consent, the topic for today’s episode. We'll dive deep into the importance of consent and how Tara's own experience drives her passion for creating positive change through education.
Tara developed a passion for working with children at a young age. As a child, she eagerly obtained her babysitter's certificate before any of her friends. Growing up she spent many afternoons at the local YMCA and at the age of 12 a babysitting opportunity arose when a couple approached the YMCA seeking a trustworthy sitter for their toddler and infant sons. Tara embraced her job of taking care of these children unaware of the danger that lay ahead. Tara is now a Philanthropy Coordinator for Hartford Healthcare as well as being a part of Jane Doe No More's educational programs.

After surviving a home invasion and sexual assault that happened in 1993 she was then revictimized by a police department who choose not to believe her, mismanaged her case, and let her perpetrator get away.
Donna used her professional experience in marketing to start Jane Doe No More and launched the non-profit at the same time Dateline NBC aired a special about her. Donna has journeyed the painful path from victim to survivor and emerged as an empowering voice for other survivors.
