What a pleasure it's been to reconnect with each other, our love for Rick and Michonne, Andy and Danai and you all. We've never had a tv viewing experience like this one and we doubt we ever will again. How lucky for us that we only support what? Winners.
Yeah, we had to talk about the episode as a whole because that's what we were presented with, but thinking back on the lives we've lived alongside and through these characters? We can only be grateful.

We love a man who makes his intentions clear and loves his wife using anything and everything that's made available to him. Michonne, we tip our hat to you.
The less said about that redemption hour, the better. Unfortunately, we didn't take our own advice and talked a lot about it 😂 Most of the talk was questions, so maybe you can help us out with it! Just one more episode left. Can you even believe it?

The season 9 finale of The Walking Dead walked 500 miles to be one of the whelmiest finales we've experienced. Hop in the car and go with us as we pretend to be surprised that:
a) a flea market with rugs, CPR lessons and wooden tokens didn't provide the necessary resources to combat the rot, locusts, frogs, fires or any of the other plagues God has rained down on the Kingdom
b) Carol ghosted when times got tough
c) Negan saved both a child and a dog, just in case we didn't get the hint that the redemption train is a-comin'
d) Michonne is always right and a bad ass. Facts is facts.

This was a rough one. Apparently The Walking Dead wanted us to see if we could have Chrissy Teigen's crying face plastered for an entire hour.
It feels like there should be someone to blame for this tragic turn of events. Don't worry: we're more than willing to give both Carol and Tyreese the side eye for not picking up on the fact that a 12-year-old running around playing tag with a walker best friend she named and screaming "What if I killed you?!" may just be someone you need to keep your eye on. But in the end, what else could be done except what Carol did? And can you really blame them for not wanting to rush down the darkest timeline?

We're confused?
Are Daryl and Beth in love now? What's happening? Why is it happening? Who asked for it to happen? Could you not, The Walking Dead? The idea of the innocent girl melting the bad boy's heart is all kinds of tropey goodness, but the execution with these two characters does. not. work. Sorry 'bout it.
Maggie, Sasha and Bob don't fare too much better, with Maggie cutting out in the night to find Glenn, but still going the same direction everyone was headed in anyway. Strength in numbers, girl! Speaking of, Bob, traumatized by being the last one standing in his previous two groups, decides that he can't live with anyone being out there by themselves. So he leaves Sasha by herself so he can find Maggie. Huh? Not cool, Bob.

Well, I guess everyone needs a drink for this episode of The Walking Dead.
Listen, we get the idea of what this episode was going for, but the execution was a big thumbs down. It wasn't compelling, but instead we found the forced connection between Daryl and Beth kinda obnoxious to watch. Not to mention awkward as hell. But hey, if you like this, more power to you. We wish you all the unreciprocated back hugs your heart can stand.

Carl and Michonne's relationship is basically one of the purest things that has every happened on The Walking Dead. A mother without a child and a child without a mother forming this new bond with each other? How can your heart not swell?
Meanwhile, poor Rick is aimless and without a plan, but that only lasts about 7 minutes before some random marauders startle him out of his sleep and force him him sneak out of the house (and pick up an iconic piece of outerwear on the way). We also discuss the specific dangers of being a woman in the zombie apocalypse when a bunch of ain't shit men roam the land.
Glenn, Tara and their new ragtag group make a pretty bad-ass looking crew when they fight a group of zombies, but they have a fundamental difference of ideologies: Glenn has to find Maggie at all costs; Abraham has to get Eugene to Washington, D.C. at all costs. Why? Because Eugene knows how to cure the virus! Dun dun dun! Also, probably false because this guy has a mullet. We don't buy it.

A pretty perfunctory episode of The Walking Dead. Kinda of a let down after the last one, but we needed to check in to see where everyone else is.
This episode serves to set up the start of new bonds as the group has been fractured. One seems to make sense (Maggie, Sasha and Bob), one might prove to be explosive (Carol, Tyreese, Lizzie, Mika and Judith), one matches up unlikely comrades (Glenn and Tara) and then there are the...others (Daryl and Beth). Plus, hey, the kinda bad ass entrance of three major comic characters. What else you got?

Season 4 · Episode 9

One of the best episodes of The Walking Dead ever. Hey, when it's good, it's good!
Rick and Carl are having several come to Jesus moments as the roles are reversed and the son that Rick tried to desperately to protect has to step up and be the protector due to Rick's injuries. Carl says a lot of hurtful things to Rick (thankfully, Rick can't hear him because of that whole coma situation he's in), but it kinda made us mad and we were tempted to tell Carl to go get a switch. Nobody is a winner when Rick is out of commission, Carl! In the other half of this episode, we follow our girl
Michonne, who falls back into loner mode with expediency. In one of the better sequences this show has done, we learn a whole chunk of her backstory in a creative, but creepy way and it's heartbreaking. But dang it, if she didn't have us crying with her when she made the choice to actively search for people to be with and she found hers in those Grimes boys.
Rick and [Redacted] tribute video set to Amel Larrieux's "No One Else" (spoiler if you haven't made it through season 6 yet)

Everyone's questionable decisions are coming home to roost in this action/emotionally packed mid-season finale of The Walking Dead.
Daryl told Michonne to stop looking for the Governor and now look at her -- held captive by him. Never listen to Daryl, Michonne!
Lily -- we're not quite sure why you decided you needed to stand guard over a river, but now Meghan's paying the price when all she wanted to do was make peanut butter sandwiches.
Tara was the first to volunteer her services and the first to put her gun down because she had to witness the horribleness that was Hershel's death.
Charlie from Fringe...well, you deserved what you got. And the theme of the season comes back in Rick's big speech: we can all come back. Do you buy it?
