It's the trials and tribulations of The Leftovers' resident Job, Matt Jamison, in the 5th episode of Season 2 - "No Room at the Inn".  This time, Matt and The West Wing's Donna Moss (aka Mary Jamison) find out some very surprising news about Mary's condition only to get trapped outside of Jarden when they lose their i.d. bracelets. Matt, stop helping strangers! They spend some quality time with the friendly campers outside the gates including naked guy in stocks, Elmer the Swede, comedian Brett Butler, and a dude who likes to be called Brian while getting whacked by an oar.  Luckily, it's Nora "Kicks Ass" Durst to the rescue!

It's back to Miracle (or Jarden), and we're picking up right where we left off in "Orange Sticker", the fourth episode of The Leftovers - Season 2!

It's right after the earthquake and Nora awakes to no Kevin. Yup, you guessed it, she doesn't take it well. Meanwhile, Kevin is in a whole heap of trouble, not only because he lost his phone in the quarry, but he also left a muddy hand print on Evie and the other missing girls' car! It just goes from bad to worse for Kevin as John takes him on a pretty harrowing journey outside Jarden. (Just remember kids: there are no miracles in Jarden.) Jill and Michael, are awwwwwww,  Ghost Patti continues to harass Kevin (but tower guy can see her! We think?), and Nora comes up with a unique way to keep Kevin from sleepwalking which also happens to be SYMBOLISM.

It's time to check in with Laurie and Tommy as we get on board for "Off Ramp" (aka "Off Ramp Susie"), episode 3 of the second season of The Leftovers. 

Folks, this one is a doozy as we try to decide, do we really like Laurie? Smug, condescending Laurie, furiously chewing Nicorette gum, offering bad therapy, mowing down pedestrians, and turning her son into a fake healer.  Physician, heal thyself! Especially after going totally insane and attacking her publisher. Oh Laurie, just listen to the feedback, make the edits, and take the money! We're not really sure about Tommy either, but he certainly doesn't deserve the trials and tribulations of he experiences this time around. Ever more mysterious Meg returns, and she is out for blood! Plus, poor, poor, poor off ramp Susie.

The Garvey's go to Miracle! It's goodbye to Mapleton in episode 2 of the second season of The Leftovers, "A Matter of Geography" and we're finding out if a change of scenery is all it takes to get the Garvey family back on track. 

We pick up right where season 1 ended - Nora finding baby Lily on the porch of Kevin's house - and we see everything that lead up to their arrival in Miracle in the last episode.  First, Nora and Kevin have a CRAZY conversation with Jill revealing all kinds of secrets that must be seen to be believed. So, everything's resolved, right?! Not so fast, listeners, because something's still going on with Kevin as evidenced by his knock down, drag out fight with a washing machine and, oh, he's seeing things. 

Meanwhile, Nora learns something that troubles her leading to a classic Nora ass-kicking moment. Jill's good with babies, Tommy's still a jerk (ugh), and Grandpa Kevin's moving to Australia. Plus, Patti...  she's baaaackkk!! But how??

It's a whole new town, whole new bunch of characters, and a whole new season of The Leftovers! Yeah, that's right, we're taking a deep dive into the first episode of Season 2, "Axis Mundi". 

We don't see our Mapleton favorites for most of the episode, but we get a crash course in miracles, specifically Miracle, Texas, sometimes also known as Jarden. We also meet the Murphys, Evie, John, Michael, and Erika (played by the incomparable Regina King!). First though, a very weird intro set in the past - way in the past - where a prehistoric woman gives birth under not-so-great circumstances and then won't wash her face. 

Plus, lots of other questions. What's up with Evie running through the woods naked? Why does Erika has a live bird in a box? Is John as sinister as he seems (and where is that damn cricket)? If Isaac can really predict the future, why does it make John so mad? Do the Garveys really have it all together? (Yup, they do show up eventually!)

It's a bonus episode of TV is Awesome that's all about the book! We take a deep dive into The Leftovers, by Tom Perrotta, the inspiration for the TV series we all know and love. In the world of the novel, we're introduced to a very different Kevin Garvey who's an affable guy and also the Mayor of Mapleton! We learn more about the inner workings of the Guilty Remnant than we did on the show, Aimee is somehow a main character, Matt and Patti are NOT main characters, and Nora is preoccupied with how hot she is. All in all, a very different experience. Do we recommend The Leftovers? Tune in to find out!

This is it! We've finally made it to episode 10, the season one finale of The Leftovers, "The Prodigal Son Returns"! This is where it all goes down... although not quite in the way we remembered because apparently we don't remember so good! 

After last week's flashback to "happier" times, we pick up right back in the cabin with a traumatized Kevin and a very dead Patti. But it's Matt to the rescue! There's another very weird dream sequence with a National Geographic, short-haired Grandpa Kevin, and a flirtatious ghost Patti (so weird). This episode also has furiously snapping Meg, a very hoarse Laurie (too many cigarettes and not enough talking), and THAT SCENE WITH NORA that we've been anticipating. Plus, Jill finds herself in jeopardy as the whole town goes to hell. A fiery one at that. Meanwhile, we wonder, who is the prodigal son in this scenario?

Enjoy this super-sized episode of "TV is AWESOME"!
